…
"…He's done for,"
Somewhere far from the village deep inside the forest, Zeugen and Taizun managed to 'overkill' the behemoth demon. In front of them, lies the gigantic creature, having one-third of its body destroyed, but its head remain intact. But surely, the demon does not move any more. Moreover, his breathing is no more.
"Ayy… I guess I vas a bit too much, ay?" he asked while lightly scratching his dragon head.
"I believe not, though. I suppose we've done a good job here," Taizun replied. His arms are still sizzling with cold smoke coming out from beneath his clothing.
Zeugen bows down and proceeds to sniff the demonic being, intending to examine it. His thoughts in his mind, "Zis demon… is he really dead?" He then gets up and looks at it closely.
"Enough, Zeugen, let's get back to the village. Big ol' barbecue head will need our help and as well as we need his help to incinerate that being," he said while pointing at the behemoth demon. He walks casually, going further from Doutha. But Zeugen is still staring at him.
"…Zeugen?" Taizun noticed his friend was not following him. He turns around half-way to look for him.
The steam dragon is suspicious. He does not consider the demon being dead. He thinks that something was amiss.
He talks to himself, "I felt in my guts zat something was not right. From what I heard… I knowest zat a creature from ze demon race is not dead if they have not disintegrated like ashes. For short… zis creature…"
"Zeugen, there's no need to bother that creature. We must hurry to Ognist," said Taizun. "There are several mana fluctuations from near his position, possibly the demon general's power. We must assist him quick," he explained in a serious manner.
"Hey, Zeugen, do you hear me?" he asked in an irritated voice.
"Say… Herr Taizun," finally the steam dragon spoke. "Dost zee not find zis odd?" he asked.
"What is?" Taizun scrunched his face.
"Dost zee reckon of vat Prinz Xelderon hath told us about fighting demons?" he asked while turning his snouted head at the ice dragonian.
"Well, yes… why's that something you matter, anyway?"
"…Zee really not find it odd, ay?" Zeugen stated in a bit of disappointment. "Vell, no matter. I vill puncture zis creature to assure myself zat 'this demon is really dead'," Zeugen added.
In a split second, Taizun finally realizes what Zeugen was humming about. His pupils shrunk, his eyes widen, and his face creases hardly. He then spawns his spear and rushes towards Zeugen. The next second, he shouts out loud.
"GET AWAY, ZEUGEN!!!"
Just before the steam dragon constructs his magic, Doutha's eyes flashes in red. From its forehead, a gigantic lance emerges, towering straight forth to Zeugen. It was so fast that Zeugen had no time to avoid, penetrating the neck of the steam dragon violently, puncturing it all the way through the back of his neck, impaling him. Blood squirts out, oozing out of the crevices from both sides.
"Ack-k-cack!"
Taizun is extremely shocked. With his spear spawned beforehand, he immediately casts a magic while pointing his spear at the demon.
Doutha growls heavily as if critical. But with the steam dragonian at his grasp, he pushed him past his limits.
Amidst of that, he yells in terrific painful and hoarsened voice while simultaneously roaring in despair. "I will… not let you… touch Lord Toma…!!!" In the demon's mind, if he falls now, then he will take his adversaries with him.
Zeugen tries to get the gigantic lance off, but the severe and excruciatingly pain he's experiencing making it nigh impossible for him to move, moreover in his dragon form.
But in the next second, a shining light in the shade of white blue emitted from beside them. Noises of crystal ices being generated rapidly are heard. White winds with snowflakes rolled around it wildly.
It is Taizun.
He had aimed his spear earlier, now it's a larger spear decorated with spiky icebergs. He takes a stance with his body lowered a bit. He drags his spear backwards, preparing to launch like a missile out of a rocket launcher. A large white blue magic circle emerges from beneath him. From then, he casts with a loud scream.
"Grand Ice Magic – Divine Ice Spear"
His dragonian horns transformed. Taking the form of a larger but slimmer horn made of ice. It lights up spectacularly. His arms transformed into arms of dragon, breaking the armor that covered his entire arms.
And thus he dashes in blinding speed. Their distance is not far, but his momentum of his kick to the ground gave him a massive blast of power to charge at the behemoth. The ground beneath every of his step is frozen with thin layers of ice. With utter rage, he charges at the demon, screaming loudly as the spear draws forth. The tip of the spear lightens in a majestic light of ice magic as Taizun thrusts it with full power to the monstrous being.
Doutha screeches as the spear closes in on him. He can't avoid it.
The tip of the icy spear collides with the behemoth demon. A small light quickly turned gigantic irradiated the demon. In a matter of seconds, the demon's skin is frozen entirely, even to its spine that pierced through Zeugen's skin.
Taizun thrusts harder, penetrating the already destroyed demon body. A second later, flakes of ice spikes starts to rain down upon Doutha. Not long afterwards, sheer particles of lights pierced through the thick hide, shaping like a massive lance larger than the behemoth demon, whirls incredibly like a tornado, piercing through the forest as far as possible, showering the dark scene with the light of the ice magic. That light then flashes like a burst of steam blast, releasing extremely cold wind to its surrounding. Finally, the light fades out, letting the darkness fill the forest once again.
In the aftermath, the behemoth demon, Doutha has lost its head entirely. It was flung away somewhere with the blast of ice lance that pierced far into the forest. The body is destroyed. Its shattered parts is completely frozen and scattered all around the place. Doutha is assuredly killed.
Taizun gasps heavily after the magic he's casted. He turns his attention quickly to the steam dragon, Zeugen. The ice on the frozen spine is spreading widely on his scaly hide.
"Zeugen…!" he quietly shrieked.
A few minutes later…
Taizun manages to pull out the large spine that pierced through Zeugen's body. After that, the steam dragon collapses and loses consciousness. Taizun fears of Zeugen dying because of it. He then immediately treats to the large punctured hole in his scaly hide. He uses high level potion and let it be drunk through Zeugen's snout. But even that was not enough. The injury was more fatal than he thought.
"Don't you dare die on me… our job is not finished yet!"
Behind him and the carcass of Doutha, fields of ice existed in a straight line as a result of Taizun's dash and the aftermaths of his ice magic.
…
In the village outskirts, the shadow demon general is captivated by the sudden sheer of light in the forest as if holy element was used.
"What was that?" he wondered. "It looks like a holy magic… I hope not. We demons are susceptible to that one element. It will destroy us instantly."
Toma feels greatly unsettled. He fears of a holy elementalist being nearby. But he believes there's none of them in the village. Even if there is one, that person would be one of the villagers that he had taken control of. And most of the villagers are badly damaged thanks to the mind control being deactivated.
A few seconds later, he overheard a whistle coming down from the dark skies, causing him to turn his attention towards the sky. Not long afterwards, something big crashed near him as if a meteor fell to him.
"What the heck…—HURGH?!" his red pointy eyes shuddered as the dust settles. His entire body is shaking terribly. He reflexively crouches down before the thing in front of him.
The object that nearly crashed near him is no other than Doutha's head. It is half-frozen, with most of the head's part has been annihilated. The blood was completely frozen. It didn't come out of the head's injury.
"Dou…tha…"
Shortly afterwards, the head slowly disintegrates into thin air, marking the behemoth demon's death.
The shadow demon grieves. His entire body raged, the shadowy figure of his body blazes like wildfire. He shouts loudly, he screams upon the dead demon, his eyes turned even wilder. He could not believe that Doutha was slain.
"…Doutha…! Why did you die?!" he cried. Drops of black shaded object fell from his eyes.
"UWAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!"
He punches the ground hardly, causing a small crater. "Those dragonians…! Those… wretched lizards…! They always get in our way…! They are a massive hindrance! They… killed my only servant!"
Shortly, Toma Zil stands back up. He slouches down in utter agony. His head instantly turned at where the two dragonians could possibly be.
"…I will kill them all!"
