Chapter 7 – Green Dragon Around the Body

"What about you?" the official asked.

"I'm fine. Hurry and go!" Chinese Tunic yelled. The footsteps that I heard and the black cloud had now floated to the center of the Woods of No Return.

"Go down the mountain! Go and don't look back, got it?!" the official ordered immediately. The soldiers were all well-trained. They immediately started retreating. Captain Wu pulled Grandpa who started running while carrying me.

While running, Captain Wu said, "F*ck, the monsters of Green Dragon Mountain are so powerful! Even the master that the military invited can't do nothing to him!"

We went down the mountain hurriedly. But now, wind suddenly raged on the mountain. The sky was instantly covered in dark clouds, thunder and lightning. Heavy rain crashed down. Carrying me, Grandpa looked up and murmured, "What kind of monster can cause such a natural phenomenon?"

"Grandpa, Grandpa, will that uncle be okay?" I asked in concern. "Can he deal with this scary monster?"

"He should be fine," Grandpa said. "If I guessed correctly, he must've been chanting the Yin Language earlier. It's a lost language to communicate with ghosts and demons. Old Blindman mentioned it before, but even he can't speak it. I can't believe that someone so young can have that ability."

Rain poured, making it impossible for people to keep their eyes open. The path down was extremely muddy. We ran pathetically to the turn at the middle of the mountain.

I was familiar with the front of Green Dragon Mountain. I knew that this was the last place where you could turn back and see that ancient stele. If you turned the corner, you wouldn't be able to see anything anymore. I was worried for Chinese Tunic's safety and also curious about what he was doing. Was he kneeling or fighting with the monster? I was extremely torn.

Finally, I decided to take a glance—just one glance. If I didn't look, I wouldn't be able to sleep in peace!

I sneakily raised my head and looked past Grandpa's shoulders toward the stele.

I saw that Chinese Tunic, standing in the pouring rain, had taken off his shirt. A green dragon wrapped around his body.

Right now, rather than kneeling, he was standing.

The black smoke had formed a huge demonic face before the stele.

Chinese Tunic, standing with a bare upper body, raised his head and was at a standoff with the huge demonic face.

This scene was something I would never be able to forget—a man with a green dragon around his body standing up to a demonic face that was multiple times larger than him without seeming any weaker!

Chinese Tunic suddenly stomped his foot. He seemed to want to fight to the death with the demonic face. But just then, Grandpa covered my eyes and pushed my head down. "What are you looking at?" he berated. "Do you want to die?!"

Pushing my head down, Grandpa hurried down the mountain with me. By now, everyone was looking toward the middle of the mountain with worry, but you couldn't see Chinese Tunic anymore. The military cadre paced anxiously. He had the soldiers wait and prepare for a rescue mission at any moment.

Half an hour passed like this. Then Chinese Tunic came down shakily. Unfortunately, he'd put his shirt back on and I couldn't see that green dragon anymore.

He seemed very tired. After coming down, he ducked right into the military truck. A while later, the cadre ordered the soldiers to retreat too.

At this time, Grandpa brought me to Captain Wu and said, "Captain Wu, let's speak elsewhere. Do you want your brothers to come back alive?"

Captain Wu was instantly excited. "Sir, what do you mean?" he said, looking at Grandpa. "Didn't you say there was no solution?"

"Have the man in the Chinese tunic suit come see me alone in three days and I'll think of a way to save your brothers," Grandpa said solemnly. "I hope that only the three of us know about this."

Captain Wu definitely wanted to save those brothers. After hearing this, he immediately drove off to take care of it.

After he left, I asked Grandpa, "Grandpa, why didn't you help earlier if you really can save those officers? I feel bad for them."

Grandpa pat my head. "Child, Taoist Chengfeng ensured that you'll live until you're 23. I have to find someone to help you get past the Life and Death Trial of that year!"
