Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Gore Galore

The bank was not a large bank with several floors, it had 3 floors including a basement.

When you enter the bank, there is a spacious area for resting and waiting. Then there are 7 bank teller booths.

Further into the building was a door to the main office area. The vault is in the basement, the stairs leading to it is next to the main office area.

Upstairs is where the break area, lounge, and locker room are located. There was also a smaller vault room for VIP clients.

Right now the only VIP client is Atkinson Young, he decided to live inside the mini-vault.

The size of the mini-vault was about 10' by 15', it was just an eye estimate. He sat down with his stuff on the ground.

The vault was actually open and the password was on a post-it outside. Seems like someone was in a rush.

All there was left was metal racks for storing valuables. He ordered the stalker to move them into a storeroom.

As for furniture, he was obviously going shopping using the stalker zombie. He was going to completely deck out his new crib.

Controlling Stake, Stake is the new name he decided to generously give to his hulking zombie.

Seeing through Stake's vision, he felt taller which then made him feel awesome.

Although it wasn't awesome not being able to run, Stake could only dash which also required a few seconds of rest.

So he had to dash every once in a while to move, it was quite weird for any outsiders to see a stalker dashing madly in the streets.

After a while, Stake pushed back two trucks filled with supplies and furniture.

There were a lot of things he got, non-perishable food, liquor, bottled water… lots of things basically.

There weren't many pieces of furniture that were pristine or even in good condition, so he got a large couch, bean bags, flat-screen T.V that doesn't work, king sized bed, table, shelves, 3 safes, fridge + mini-fridge… lots of stuff.

Imagine your somewhat perfect apocalypse safe room, that's what the room looked like.

Of course, the door was a circular vault door. Fancy and secure.

After he set up his new room with excitement, he felt extremely weary and famished.

What he set up wasn't much for now, but it was a completely honest day of work.

He sat down on the couch and piled the table up with snacks and drinks. His laptop was open and a survival show called ALONE was on.

There was actually electricity in the bank as it was solar-powered and there was also an emergency generator in the basement.

Life was alright.

Obviously Stake wasn't in the mini-vault, he was too disgusting to even look at.

The room was nicely decorated and also clean. The only light came from the l.e.d light bulbs in the ceiling as there were no windows.

The safes were safely put inside a wooden cabinet with the television set on top. Several books were on the floor while the rest was on bookshelves.

There were two fridges and a mini-fridge. All stocked with drinks and food.

Although there weren't any fresh produce since all the raw meat became rotten meat after the supermarkets and shops were cut off of electricity when the coal factories and nuclear plants stopped working.

What happens when a nuclear plant stops being maintained you ask?

Boom.

It explodes and the surrounding area becomes a wasteland full of radioactive smog and particles.

Good news is that nuclear plants are always far away from any places with high populations like a city.

Bad news is the city is filled with millions of zombies. Let's not downplay the word millions, it's a lot.

More than a couple hundred survivors can handle all at once.

Atkinson ate lazily while watching attentively to the show, but somehow it wasn't that enjoyable . After all he's living in a real life survival show where the audience are probably aliens.

Outside, the streets.

Loud cars were driving closer towards Atkinson's bank. Accompanied with a team of 5 motorcycles.

Behind them were hundreds of zombies in mad pursuit of the loud rambunctious noises in their quiet and peaceful zombie elite city.

The zombies came in various sizes and figures, but they were all equal. Some had larger fungi growing on them while some had a few.

Only a few particular zombies were vastly different from the rest. Their body was many times the size of a fat man and parts of its body were out of proportions.

They were surrounded by zombies with weird grey wings growing on their backs, actually it looked more like cocoons than wings.

Anyways. Scary bunch a group not to be messed with.

They all had another thing similar and that was the color of their fungi, purple.

Purple wasn't the color that Atkinson's first zombie encounter had. Stake the stalker's fungi was also green like the first encounter.

Naturally Atkinson could see all of this using his mind sense.

However, for some reason he couldn't control any of the purple fungi zombies within his one mile mindsense vision.

Yes he can 'see' the entire 1 mile radius area, he could feel it increasing slowly when he ate a lot of customers.

He could sense that there was an opposing mind force taking control of the zombies. He could 'see' that there were unknown pheromones mixed with spores coming from a subway station.

Wait a minute… Do I release pheromones as well? No way, I never saw anything leaking from my body.

It's all mind control, mind control. Atkinson doesn't really know and has no scientific way to find out, but he tries to reassure himself that he isn't some super intelligent fungus.

Shaking off unpleasant thoughts, he focused on his investigation of the situation outside.

He controlled Stake the stalker to jump inside a dumpster and peek its head to watch the event.

The three cars with the five motorcycles came to a sudden stop and seemed to be preparing for something.

Probably death.

Actually, a few of them manned a single machine gun on a truck, several people threw grenades, and the rest used assault rifles.

One particular person was holstering a large rocket launcher or a bazooka.

Then.

A great Fooooshhh followed by a loud a KABOOM! echoed through the quiet city streets.

If he was outside, no doubt would his ears be painfully ringing. It was quite interesting, where did these people find a rocket launcher and the guts to face hundreds of zombies?

In the middle of the charging horde, about a hundred zombies splattered into grotesque bits and parts.

like a wound healing, the surrounding zombies simply filled up the giant meat crater.

However, the survivor group kept shooting and blasting away. It was kind of satisfying, zombies were mowed down by intense gunfire.

The corpses continued to pile up, the streets were flooded with purple and red. It's going to stink to heaven if the city street cleaners don't come to wash it down the drain.

Suddenly, several stalker zombies crashed out of buildings on the side of the group. The lumbered crazily with unimaginable horrific facial figures.

If it was night, then this would be a thousand times more horrifying.

Unexpectedly, another person calmly walked out of a truck and raised both his arms towards the sky.

Several thick wires were connected to his ankles to large car batteries on the truck.

Intense lights flashed, then a small thunderclap followed. Several arcs of lighting flowed from his body and out towards the sky.
