Gauhar's POV
Time seemed to blur as I sat beside him in the car, the silence between us swelling and suffocating me. There was something in the air between us that filled me with unease and made the breath in my lungs heavy.
It was with a jolt that I realised, it was dread.
My hands were clammy and my heart was beating erratically in my chest. It was all I could do to ensure that Altamash didn't sense the unease that was currently coursing through me.I was nervous about what was going to happen, and I didn't want him to find out how vulnerable I was.
The clarity and confidence my conversation with Addison had lent me seemed to be a thing of the past. As the view outside the car turned into a dizzying mess of colours I turned my attention towards the man that was currently driving the car so fast you would think we were being chased by the mafia for stealing their youngest child's french fries.
