It's been nearly a month since the reconstruction process began and the Helios is already dismantled, with construction on the way for the new and improved Helios. They seem to have overestimated the time frame I think; then again you never know what can happen. We still have enemies out there, that are probably plotting some new attack against us. The sharing of technology is I think the most important aspect of this whole thing, as I see it anyway.
My comm chirps. "Go ahead."
"Sir, you have a visitor." Man, I really don't want to talk to any one right now.
"who is it Corporal?" It better not be the Engineer again, or so help me I'm going to strangle him.
"It's you Wife Sir." I practically jump off my seat to the door; opening it up and seeing Jahní after almost three weeks, is like a breath of fresh air in this place. "Princess, please come in."
She smiles inclining her head, as she steps into my office. Closing the door behind me turning to see that she takes the seat by the window, with the view to the Helios. I sit down next to Jahní taking her hand in mine. "So, this is a surprise!" She gazes at me with her beautiful silver eyes for a while not saying anything. "Is everything alright?"
"Yes, things are fine, but I wanted to see you." Her belly is now visible, though not big it can now be seen. She's just radiant. while I'm here working missing some of the important moments, with my wife. "I miss you very much and I feel cold without you by my side. I... wish to stay here for a few days if that is alright."
I chuckle. "You know, I was thinking about young how much I miss your company." I look out of the window to the Helios. "You can stay as long as you wish." She scoots closer to me wrapping her arms around me pulling me into her planting a kiss on my lips and I return it, without hesitation. "Do you have a lot of luggage?" Jahní laughs. Yeah I'm sure she has enough.
I get us settled in to a larger stateroom, which the station commander was more than happy to find for us. She sits down on the bed with a hand over her belly; Is it next to her and put my hand on there as well. Smiling she puts her head on my shoulder and I feel so relaxed now, that I actually feel tired.
"Do you want to sleep? Lately I've been sleepy and I can lay my head down right now." Oh, that's why. I'm feeling her need to rest, though to be honest I could use some shut eye. I really haven't been resting much these days.
"You know yeah I could do with some down time." I call Tom and let him know that I going to call it a day. He agrees that I have to rest more often, I reluctantly ascent to his observation. We lay down having some pillow talk and soon my eyes are so heavy, and Jahní is already passed out. well I guess there's no point in fighting it off.
The next day I'm in shuttle two docking at the lead Engineer's office. Upon Entering I walk into an argument between Tom and Dohán-tahk. "No one cleared this with me!"
"I am the lead Engineer of this project, how can I work if I have to seek permission for everything I see will help!" Dohán seems very put out.
"Captain, thank God you're here. Our esteemed lead Engineer has brought on two more of his people without being vetted by me or you." Now that is a problem that we have to take care of, before this can continue.
I put my hand up for him to let me talk, now that I see what going on. "Dohán-tahk, you need to understand that although you are the lead Engineer, this is our ship and no one will touch even the dust of the Helios, without my ok. Do you understand."
He glances away very annoyed. "Very well I will send them to you, to be interviewed."
I smile shaking my head. "No, Mr. Bocage can handle that. After all he is the Chief Engineer of the Helios." Dohán looks at Tom with an unpleasant expression, but he relents to my authority. This could turn into a real problem if I'm not careful.
I finally after three hours of going back and forth with, 'The Lead Engineer.' We made some head way and it seems that they are going to get the Helios completed way ahead of schedule. I walk down to the planning room and it's empty right now; I walk over to the central monitor and I activate it. A holographic image of the new Helios comes up. It has a similar look to the old girl, with a few subtle changes.
You would only pick up on them if you were very familiar with the original ship, and that I was. At the rate the Majah-tu are working this will be completed in half the time frame. This is of course a good thing. We'll be able to get this tech back to Earth, where it can be reversed engineered.
I'm back in my office typing my daily report of the progress the rebuild, and then I'll be able to call it a day. I look at the time and it's 17:58. Time is just flying by, since we are real busy around here. I finish the final sentence, and I grab my cap stepping out locking the door I head to our apartment.
Jahní is sitting there with the MP3 and the head phones listening to more music, and I smile shaking my head. She has taken a liking to that device, which is good because I haven't been using it. She turns and sees me taking off the head set getting up pretty fast as she hugs me, and we hold each other tightly. Once we separate bit she looks up to me. "How was your day?"
"it wasn't bad, but there are some personality clashes and that's to be expected. Especially since we are two different cultures working together, for the first time." She is thoughtful about hat I just said, but stays quiet.
"You know I found some different type of music. It's in a language that I'm not to familiar with." Oh, she probably found my Grandfathers collection.
I pick up the Mp3 and scroll through the the recent played songs, and sure enough thats what she's been listening to. "Yeah, it's the Spanish language. These are traditional style music from where my family is from."
"Really?"
"Oh yeah, it's called Vallenato. Very romantic or sad depending on what the artist was trying to convey." She is very interested in that music, since she needs help understanding it. I scroll the screen until I find a song that is how I feel about her. I turn on the speaker and hit play. "It's called 'Mi Diosa Humana.' I dedicate it to you. I begin to translate it for her and she stays silent as I do this.
Her expression is becoming more affectionate and full of love as the song plays until the end. "My eyes are not the color of honey." I laugh at that. "But the rest of it is most romantic." She leans into me and I'm surprised at her reaction.
"Doesn't this happen here?" She l puts her head on my shoulder, and she pushes me onto the sofa and she straddles me.
She shakes her head look down at me her face turning red. "In the warrior cast these type of things are look down upon." Wow! I can see why she would reacts thus. having music specifically that is written to romance a woman, and then have it dedicated to you must be very romantic. More than Jahní has ever experienced.
I pull her down towards me. "I will always think of you when I hear that song, because I am your prisoner of the heart." We kiss and she melts into me as I feel the heat rise between us, while I caress her face.
She looks at me. "Are you not hungry?"
"Yes, but not for food." I kiss her again and she responds beautifully, as I undress her and we join ourselves in love. Rolling through the powerful emotions that burn and mark us. She lays there on top of me resting covered in sweat as am I. "You ok?" I can feel her heart beginning to return to it's normal rhythm.
"I don't want it to end yet." Ok, I get up carring her to the bed room and we continue where we left off.
I get up a couple of hours later and I'm hungry, so I fix something for us. Jahní comes out and sits at the table, as I bring the food over. We eat our food and she starts to talk about how the King is not happy about her being here, so far from home in her condition. "What's your Father's reaction of you coming up here?"
She looks down at her plate pushing the food around. I see, he's not in agreement. "It doesn't matter what he thinks. I want to be here with you and you're not in a combat zone, so I'm not in danger."
I wonder just how safe it really is up here, but I'd rather have her with than not. Besides she's made up her mind, who is going to tell her anything different. "I supposes it is."
"What do you mean?"
I let out a breath. "There is a concern for security and safety; especially since the Embassy attack."
"Would you rather that I go back home?" That's a hard question for me to answer. I want her here, but at the same time I want her safe and far from the danger.
"No, I want you here. Close to me as possible." That is what I want. I can protect her and I will. "You know, why don't we go to the garden tomorrow?" A distraction will be good for the both of us. All this cloak and dagger stuff is tiring, I'm soldier not spy, and I'm going to live a good life with my wife.
'I don't want to be a burden to you, while you are in the middle of this rebuild." I feel her sadness, but also understanding. No, she can stay here and be where she wishes to be.
"You are never a burden to me, and you can stay here as long as you wish." That's settles it. "That's all there is to discuss, please."
She smiles nodding. I know that she's I only thinking of me and my position here. It just screams hit me the way things are now, and security really needs to be tighter on the Majah-tu side of things. "I heard that there have been some problems, with our people. I'm sorry about this problem."
"Hey." I take her hand. "You have nothing to do with that." She squeezes my hand letting me understand that it's ok.
