Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE - I AM NOT HUMAN

Do you really think it's possible to wipe out all that is evil?

Envying a person who is in a higher position than you or more successful than you is a normal phenomenon of humans craving a higher societal status but it just takes a small push for it to develop into the negative feeling of jealousy.

Or hating someone whose values conflict with yours. The hatred of the actions a person commits can sometimes transform into hatred for the person himself.

No matter how much of a saint you think you are or how holy you think someone is, there is always a hint of hatred or dislike towards someone as in the case of Jealousy or people with conflicting values which can sometimes brew up malice leading to harmful thoughts.

These thoughts when acted upon are the source of Evil.

Some of you may say that "good always conquers evil" but as you can see it is not always so.

What about good? Is it possible to wipe out all that is good from the world?

No matter how evil it is believed someone is, there is always someone or something that this person would want to protect.

This virtuous act of protecting someone or something signals the presence of good in this so-called evil person.

In conclusion it is impossible to wipe out neither evil nor good.

Therefore there is the urge to create a balance between good and evil even within oneself.

Our world can be said to be fairly balanced so yeah this story isn't about this world

NO. 7 HIGHSCHOOL, TOKYO, JAPAN

It's around 4:00 PM in the afternoon. I could be seen walking in short strides but at a high pace.

I do this a lot because it is an effective way to walk in order to reach my destination faster, managing my stamina and also getting myself famished for lunch.

Although it may look crude, I can keep my body fit and alo avoid interacting with people coming from the same school as me.

I finally reached my destination after passing through numerous temptations like an ice cream stand that stood surrounded by customers.

I was sure I could smell every single flavour present in the stand, but all that escaped my mind when I finally reached my journey's end.

I could see my reflection on the glass placed on the door of the store that I was about to enter.

I was wearing a black trousers and a white shirt with blue sleeves and on my feet were black shoes.

My hair is black and a little messy.

My face is normal and my body just goes to show that I'm a little athletic… something I'm secretly proud of.

If I had to say the only weird thing about my appearance was my moderately red eyes.

I slightly pushed the door of the shop open and Immediately entered to retrieve the Item that I had waited weeks for.

It was a book shop with books of different sizes and multiple shelves.

The shop had the books arranged in different sections displayed on each shelf.

I gently walked over to the novel section and my eyes quickly spotted the new releases sub sections.

I finally spotted the novel I was looking for and I took it and quickly walked over to the counter.

I had already gotten over my 8th-grader syndrome but I would always regret the fact that I lack the ability to teleport.

The old me would have stood there and recited some kind of incantation which I would come up with on the spot that would relate to teleportation.

I brushed off all the thoughts related to how embarrassing my previous self was as I left the store and still continued to walk fast.

This was because I had to reach home before my favourite anime would start.

I already scheduled a recording in case anything came up but there is the satisfaction of viewing it while it is being aired.

**************************************************

After walking for a few minutes, I noticed that my surroundings had become dark red.

At first I had thought it was the sun set that caused the area to seem this way.

But I remembered that the time shouldn't be over 4:00 PM. Therefore it's impossible for it to be this dark.

While I was confused because of this strange phenomenon I decided to look at the sky where this dark red light originated from.

It was the sun or should I say it looks like the sun except that it's freaking red[2].

Several thoughts went through my mind but most of them were Chūnibyō(8th grade syndrome) related.

I could swear that only my kind could not only remain calm but also happy and excited in this situation.

Okay maybe some anime fans or light novel readers regular to the fantasy genre or extremely smart people could remain calm and try to examine the situation.

But no, I was way past that.

If anyone could hear the stupid thoughts going through my head right now and also visualize what I imagined, I would instantly begin to dig a hole to bury myself in.

Thoughts like 'I have failed to find the source of disturbance in the world tree and could not stop the apocalypse'

or

'My connection to my alternate and more stronger self must have grown stronger to cause this'

or

'Sh*t the Dark legion must've found a loophole in the seal I made to be able to Isolate me like this'

and finally,

'My right arm aches. I sense a being of great power exceeding that which I possess' all ran through my mind in an instant.

Then I thought that this scenario is just like that movie Night**** at El* St**t.

A ghost that kills people though their dreams was probably the most logical thing I could think about.

Although I don't think ghosts could be defined as "logical'', I'm in a world slightly similar to the real one but incredibly scary.

I should be happy that at least this thought isn't Chūnibyō related.... I think.

So yeah with my unbalanced way of thinking that was probably the best I could come up with.

Unfortunately while I was daydreaming three men approached from behind me while whispering to each other.

The one in the middle was dressed in all black tight fitting clothes and the two by the side wore relatively loose but also black clothes.

I was quite shocked but I tried my best to remain calm and started talking in a loud voice.

"Umm excuse me but do you guy understand what's go..ing on heree..."

Uh oh! Their necks suddenly snapped towards my direction before I finished talking and I stammered a little.

Now that I think about it, these men didn't seem to be shaken at all by the appearance of the surroundings.

I was so happy seeing that I wasn't the only one isolated here that I probably misjudged the situation.

Instead of calling out to them I should have hidden and observed what they would do.

At first the men seemed alerted when I raised my voice but as they turned to look at me they let out a slight grin.

All of a sudden I felt like I was under high pressure, it was so much greater than what I experienced when I went diving in the sea.

I broke out in cold sweat as I felt that every cell in my body shook in fear.

While I was trying not to plop down on the floor, the three of them suddenly appeared closer to me.

'Shit they must have done something to me to keep me from moving' I thought.

Although in this situation where I can't move a muscle my line of thought is quite straight and what went through my mind was.

'YES!!! this confirms that something similar to magic exists'.

The man in the middle suddenly stepped forward and started talking first.

"The info the Master acquired is indeed accurate, he doesn't even have enough mana to cast a single spell not to talk of basic "

"Yeah no matter how you look at him he definitely looks human he can hardly even stand after experiencing our level of " said the man on the left.

"I'm sure any of us could kill him easily, even without using any magic our physical strength is enough to kill a hundred humans without breaking a sweat" said the man on the right in a mocking tone.

"Hahaha, but don't be deceived just like the info said just by looking at the minute mana flowing in his body you can immediately tell that he is the greatest abomination to ever exist" said the man in the middle.

'Huh? info, Master, mana, spell, , , greatest abomination, isn't that a lot to take in' I thought while trying my best to make light of everything.

Well after listening to their conversation, a number of things have been revealed to me.

Firstly, I seem to be a thorn in the side of this master of theirs and these people have been sent to kill me.

Secondly, whatever they are must be an existence greater than humans since they claim they can kill a hundred of them without breaking a sweat.

Thirdly, you may not notice but I classified humans as "them" because I just realised that I'm not human either.

Isn't that awesome!!!.

Lastly, magic and spells exist.

Isn't that awesome!!!.

Hmm it seems I'm still not taking things seriously even though they've come to kill me.

Well since it's come to this I must have some kind of ultimate system, forbidden abilities and the ultimate protagonist plot armour.

Wait a sec, am I the protagonist of this story? or some background character who's supposed to die here.

I didn't even know magic existed until today!!.

Suddenly the pressure on my body completely evaporated and I could finally move my body.

The man in the middle started to walk slowly towards me and I just stood there like a *deer in headlight* all because of fear.

"sigh" I breathed out and calmed down.

Now I have to find a way out of this situation or else I might really die.

First thing first, I have to get away from these guys before thinking of anything else.

I didn't dare run when they released that pressure from me because I know they are fast enough to catch me but that also proves that they are underestimating me.

If I can catch them off guard just once I'd make a break for it.

I doubt they can keep me in this place forever, but I'd rather not take any chances and hide out somewhere in this weird space or they might kill me instantly if I'm caught.

"Let's see how much of my strength is needed to kill an abomination like you" the man in the middle said as he prepared to dash forward, clenching his fist and aiming at my head.

When I noticed that his fist was heading straight to my face, I jumped to the side by instinct but I felt like I jumped too early.

It happened so fast, his speed suddenly increased and I felt a deep cut by the side of my eyes and I noticed that his hand was already in front of me, just slightly missing my head

"Ahha" I screamed in pain and shock.

It was so deep that I think his fist nearly touched my skull.

The force of his fist cuts my skin like butter, if that were to make contact with my head, I would die on the spot.

"s**t!!!" I screamed as I endured the pain and jumped backward to create some distance between us.

This isn't going to be as easy as I thought, if not for my well trained instinct I could have died just then.

"What!!!" The man shouted as he realised he missed and then turned to look at me, his face displaying his anger.

Luckily for me there was no technique behind his punch, no stance, no martial arts.

Just a plain regular street fighter punch that could kill any human at once.

This was why I easily predicted where his fist would land.

"Die" he screamed as his right fist started coming at my face again.

I jumped to the right, this time earlier than before and he safely missed my head and he then continued his attack by aiming his left fist at my chest

I dodged by bending backward and his fist nearly hit my jaw, then I backflipped expecting my leg to hit his face.

My leg did hit his face but it felt like I just kicked iron.

I landed a few metres away from him as I was sweating profusely after avoiding so many close calls.

"You abomination worse than human scum, you you actually hit me" The man in the middle said as he looked at me angrily.

'Mother f**ker don't you f**ken lie I know you didn't feel that' I cursed in my mind as I tried to think of what to do next.

"I don't know why I waste my time with you, but your death may have been less painful compared to what I'm going to do now" the man said as he closed his eyes trying to concentrate on something.

'Liar, what could be more painful than having your skull squashed or your chest caved in' I shouted inwardly.

"" the man said and a huge ball of fire almost the size of a watermelon materialised slowly above his right hand.

'Well I guess death by fire is among the top ten worst ways to die' I thought while shivering in fear.

This feels like meeting an intermediate mob in a beginner map, how am I supposed to fight this.

The light emitted by the fire ball illuminated the whole area and I could clearly feel the heat it released.

But strange enough I'm sensing some kind of comforting feeling from the flame which is weird because it just looks plain destructive.

"To a demon, the basic would mainly burn us and it would take at least 3 shots to kill low level demons like us" the man on the left said.

"But to a mere human, it would tear a hole through you before you could even see it coming" the man by the right completed.

"Die" the man in the middle shouted as he prepared to launch the fire ball in my direction.

I turned around and made it seem like I tried to flee.

"Hmph trying to run, but it's already too late" the man on the left harrumphed.

As I turned around I sighted a galvanised metal dustbin[3] which I passed by earlier.

I retrieved its lid and tried to use it as a shield to block the incoming ball of flame.

"Fwoosh"

Almost the instant the man released the fire ball, it made contact with the lid and an explosion resounded.

As the explosion occurred the makeshift shield shattered into multiple directions and the flame reached my body.

"Ahha" I screamed as the flames engulfed my body.

"F**k" I groaned as I had just realised how much damage the caused me.

My chest was burned completely because that's where the fire ball made contact with my body and it reeked of burnt flesh.

Luckily the waste bin lid drastically reduced the momentum of the or my body would have exploded if it made contact with me.

I don't think I can move anymore, it hurts too much.

"Mmmm" I groan as I close my eyes.

I just realised I can't hear anything, I guess I'm going to die here.

It's just too much stress to struggle, I'm tired.

Despite my thoughts I still try to get on my feet.

I stand up and everything is blurry and I still can't hear anything but can barely see the three men in front of me and they seem to be laughing while mocking me.

The man in the middle raises his hand and casted another while still laughing at me.

"S**t I can't dodge something that fast in my conditio ….uhh" I muttered before I spurted blood from my mouth.

Cool I always wanted to cough out blood, I hope I look badass right now.

"Wait" I said as I noticed something.

It's that comforting feeling again and it's not just from the fireball now also from around me.

Could this be mana from those novels, I'm sure I've sensed this before, it feels so comfortable.

The mana scattered around me must be leftover mana from the previous spell.

I don't understand what I'm feeling right now but there's this irresistible urge to absorb it and I've been unconsciously holding it back.

"Huuu" I breathe out as I try to concentrate on the feeling.

I feel as if a cool breeze leaks into me and I feel so comfortable when what I imagine is the leftover mana suddenly rushed into my body.

All the mana is absorbed and the comforting feeling overcomes the unbearable pain but my body keeps urging for more.

"Well this could definitely turn into an addiction" I said while looking at my body and shocked by what I saw.

I see a semi transparent gas flowing within my body.

'Is this my mana… I'll call this mana-flow but my mana is technically colourless' I thought while I realised I could completely control my mana inside and outside my body.

I turned my head and looked towards the three men and I could see their mana flow too.

The man in the middle's Mana is red in colour, while the two men by his sides have a Mana colour of brown.

The only difference between me and them is that their mana is way much denser in colour.

All my thoughts happened in an instant and the man in the middle stopped laughing and threw the fireball straight at me.

This time it was slower than before so I forced all the mana inside my body to create some kind of tangible shield made out of mana right in between the trajectory of the fireball.

I feel the cool breeze leave my body and materialise into something like a wall in front of me.

"Boom"

A sound of explosion could be heard as the mana shield shattered and a surge of heat spread out.

That fireball may have been slower but it was way more bigger and destructive.

I took a second look at the man and his face was pale, like someone who has lost a lot of blood.

"Mana exhaustion?" I said as I realised I was in the same state as him.

"You bastard, how are you still alive?" the man in the middle shouted angrily.

"He clearly casted I thought he couldn't use magic" the man on the right said while shivering.

"Don't worry he's as exhausted as Ryan, let's hit him with all our magic together" The man on the left said.

'S**t I better prepare too, this time I'll try the ' I thought while I began imagining the mana in my body transforming into a ball of flame above my hand.

I suddenly became weak as a fireball nearly the size of a fist appeared above my hand.

'No I have to keep on going, this size isn't going to do anything to them' I thought while forcing every bit of mana out of my body.

"Crack"

Just when I thought I was about to pass out, I felt something shatter inside me and all of a sudden, an incredible amount of mana began to flow out of my body.

I began to feel my injuries heal and my body getting stronger.

"My body... it's... it's producing Mana on its own!" I muttered excitedly.

But what could have caused this, this clearly isn't normal.

Well not that it matters now, this could just be a limited plot armour and I get to live another day.

I'm suddenly more excited and raised my arm upwards and imagined a spirit ball sized ball of fire.

"Boom"

The fist sized fireball suddenly exploded in size and started to crash into the nearby buildings.

Then I imagined the ball of fire exploding only when it came in contact with the three men and the amount of heat it should disperse, everything felt so fluent to me… as if it were second nature.

By the way they haven't even finished casting their spells, how slow can they get.

"What the f**k is that" the man by the left shouted as he looked towards the massive Ball of fire in the air and gave up on the spell he was casting.

"Now you're just f**king with me" Ryan said in a dispirited tone as he plopped down on the floor.

Jeez these guys get depressed so easily, I just realised that if it's this big it could be easily avoided given how fast they are.

"Sigh... I can't believe I nearly got killed by this Lot" I said as I released the fireball in their direction.

"Ahhhh" The sound of the three men screaming filled my ears.

Damn what a wasted opportunity, I could have said something cool before I launched the fireball or I could have named it and made it my own special move.

Ughh this regret is going to haunt me.

"Boom"

The fireball finally hit its target and space suddenly started to distort.

************************************************

I opened my eyes and found myself back in the city, the sun was normal and not even a sign of the destruction from before.

"I wonder what kind of spell that was, It was like I was in a completely different world" I said as I looked around in excitement.

I don't know much about magic so I better not do something careless.

I finally found the three men laying on the floor covered in burnt marks but still breathing.

I previously felt like I could have easily killed them before but I'd rather not kill if I can avoid it.

I try to approach them slowly then a wave of light followed by a mechanical ringing sound.

"Triiiing"

The wave of light pulsated around the three men before reaching my feet.

I tried to get away but I just couldn't move.

"Whelp this could be bad" I said in a nonchalant attitude.

************************************************

I wake up on a sandy ground and look up to the sky and look down again.

"Huuu" I breathe out as I try to calm my excited heart and I look at the sky again.

I see two moons in the sky, one is red in colour and the other is blue.

The blue moon is just slightly behind the red moon and looks smaller in size.

"Hahaha... This Is The Best Day Of My Fucking Life"

[Author's Notes]

2. I'm not sure what colour the sun is and it doesn't matter but I still did a lot of research on this and I discovered that… that the true colour of the sun is… it's fucken white?

3. Just search on Google for what a galvanised metal dustbin is.

4. This chapter has over 3500 words so it may seem long but not every chapter would be like this, but would have at least 2000 words each.

5. Just so you know I use < > for spells or special techniques.

6. You may not notice but I didn't reveal the MC's name in this chapter so maybe in the next one. I might also reveal why the MC knows Martial arts.
