Madd and his mother were running their fastest to the door. When they were about to leave, his bedroom door flew off it's hinges. Madd heard his mom make a groaning sound after that and she puked up blood.
Madd started to panic because he has never seen his mom do this but he somehow pushed himself to not worry now and started to drag his mother with him to the door. Thankfully they were right next to it when that happened. Madd opened the door and pulled his mother out and he heard her say in a very faint voice "C-close the door...quickly!"
Madd did exactly as his mother said and went to go close the door but he made the stupid decision to quickly look inside to see what happened. He saw four creatures all moving quickly to the door. He saw the one that looks like his mom and the other three just look like masses of human flesh stuck together to make the figure of a person. They didn't look very fast but they were quickly approaching the door. Luckily Madd closed the door before anything happened.
After he closed the door he saw his mother quickly write a bunch of symbols on the door with her own blood. Of course Madd was very confused and didn't have any idea what was going on. When she was done a faint glow was coming of the door. The weird thing was that this glows was very dark. Madd was wondering how is that even possible. But before he could think too much on it his mother spoke to him.
"Madd I know that this is very scary but you just have to... listen to me." She handed over a cellphone to Madd that already had a number on it. "When I tell you, call this number and tell them everything that happened. Tell them that Michelle Gardener is your mother and that she gave you that number."
Madd listened to his mom's weak voice and madd sure to remember everything she had said. Even though Madd had always been an outcast in school he always had perfect grades and never had trouble understanding any subjects. So it wasn't that hard for him to remember every word she had said despite the situation they were in.
"Okay mom I will do as you say but first we have to get out here before those things come out."
Michelle looked a little surprised by how mature her son was currently acting but when she saw his face and the tear stains and the look of pure fear she got back the will to move and she stood up.
When Madd saw that she was able to stand his heart beat starts to go down. But before it had the chance to even do that, he once again heard the loud banging sounds coming from the front door.
"We need to leave now Madd!"
Madd could tell the urgency in his mother's voice so he went to her and helped her jog away. While they kept going further away from the house the banging noises got quieter and quieter. Madd started to relax a little and his mom told him to find a motel that was close to where they were.
'Mom can't even walk properly let alone look around for different things. I need to be the one to help her now so that we can make it out of here alive!'
Madd firmed his will and eventually found a motel not too far from where they were. He took his mother to the reception and they got a room. The receptionist asked if they needed any medical assistance or if they needed an ambulance but Michelle said no.
That confused Madd very much and he wondered why his mom would say no. Michelle saw the worry on Madd's face and said "Don't worry Madd this is not the first time that this has happened to me." Even though she was trying to calm Madd down it just made him worry even more.
'What did she mean by that just now? She has obviously been keeping a lot of secrets from me.' Mad realized that he was still a kid and only 13 years old at that so it made sense that his mother wouldn't tell him everything about her. Of course he had asked about his other family before but his dad was an only child whose parents died years ago and his mom just said that he will find out eventually.
When they finally got to the room Madd helped his mom to the bed. 'Even though a lot of blood is coming out right it's not too bad. I think she will be fine in a little bit.' After he helped his mother to the bed Madd found a chair in the room and sat down. Michelle then looked over to him.
"It's about time that we call them. Hand me the phone Madd, I will talk to them."
Madd looks over to her and thought to himself. 'Why did she even give me the phone in the first place. Unless she didn't think that she was going to make it!'
Michelle could see the worry in his eyes and she knew that he had probably figured out what her intentions were. 'He's always been a smart kid. It doesn't surprise me that he figured it out.'
"Everything is fine now honey just give me the phone."
Madd snapped out of his thoughts and handed the phone over to his mom. She then started to dial a number and called it. It was the same number that she had put in earlier. The conversation lasted for a while but Madd couldn't hear what the other person was saying to his mom. He could only hear yelling here and there. But he looked at his mom's face and she is smiling. 'I didn't know my mother was into that stuff.' He felt a little uneasy after that.
When she was done talking on the phone Michelle looked over to Madd and saw that he was looking at her with a weird expression. 'Why is he looking at me like that? Wait...' she felt her face and she had a very big smile and she knew that Madd could hear the yelling coming from the phone. 'Oh my god why does he even think of this stuff.'
Michelle sighs and says "Madd quit looking at me like that! Also we are about to get picked up so be ready to leave." Before Madd could ask who was picking them up, Michelle slowly got up and went to the bathroom.
'D-did she figure out what I was thinking?' Madd started to get extremely red on the face from embarrassment.
About half an hour later Madd heard a car pull up to the motel. It parked pretty much right next to their door so he figured that this was the person who was picking them up. He looked over at his mom to tell her that they were here but she was already standing at the door looking at him.
"Madd, I know that you had a very tough life but I promise that it will get better from here on out." Michelle looked deeply into Madd's eyes with a loving expression.
