Act: 31
Shizu stretched out his arms before standing. He thought about what he wanted to bring with him. Coming to the right conclusion, he decided on leaving everything behind to keep the memories he made in the forest stay in the forest. Digging in his bag grabbing out the crystals and putting them in his pants pockets, he also took out the photo seeing that it got torn up, removing the bag off his shoulder he threw it in the water where he bathed in.
"Thank you. I guess."
Leaving behind all the tools he made and collected, watching as it sank down. He turned around and walked forward calmly, whispering.
"Goodbye."
He steadily kept walking forward without a clue if he was heading in the right direction or not, unsure but he felt that this was the right way. It remained quiet most of the time and so often the sound of birds could be heard chirping on the distant treetops.
Minutes passed while admiring the forest. This time, without having to worry about his safety made him think about how beautiful it is and now it was coming to an end, the pathway soon started to narrow out and a bright, clearing light broke through. This was the sign of freedom.
He began to run, stumbling from pure joy, getting closer to the exit, and the moment he stepped his right foot out he saw the beauties of Tokyo once again. Quickly turning around to get his last look at the forest. It wasn't the same. It was different now.
The pathway that he walked on disappeared. The only thing appearing in front of him were bushes and trees, like a normal scene in a park. This set confusion in him wondering if the forest was guiding him out safely.
He chuckled a bit and began to gently smile.
'You still are helping me out aren't ya... Don't worry I'm on my way to save you again!"
Shizu turned back around, frozen. Seeing the city of Tokyo once again almost felt too real to be true. Small amounts of people who passed by stared at him with confusion and some also whispered to whoever they were with, probably questioning what a homeless-looking guy was doing, just standing covered in blood with a mesmerized look on his face.
A group of teenage girls stopped. Each one snickered amongst one another and then proceeded to pull out their phones.
*Oh, look at that filthy boy. *
*Doesn't he look like he's in high school or something. *
*Gross, who would ever wanna see him. *
*Why are his clothes torn and covered in blood! Probably an animal eater or a monster. He could be super dangerous. *
Shizu turned his head in their direction after hearing what they said, with a smile on his face hoping to clear up the misunderstanding.
*Ewww gross, he's looking in our direction! We should take a photo of that creep! Creep creep. *
The girls mocked each other by making fun of him, exaggerating that they were disgusted with him.
Shizu tried to speak up.
"Wait...- I'm not, I can explain."
He slowly walked forward.
*Eww stop! Creep stay away! *
"Huh..?"
They were about to scream to get the attention of others, so they could be saved while taking photos. A man dressed classy, with short slick back brown hair and a black tuxedo and wearing black sunglasses. Of course, a handsome face stepped in front of the girl's phone blocking Shizu. Becoming the focal point of the photos they took.
Speaking in a deep formal tone. Addressing each one of their actions.
"Hey now. Why not stop, this isn't something pretty ladies like you should be doing? Why not walk away and I'll take care of it, how does that sound? Ok?"
*No way! Is that one of the Top Rankers! *
*He's a part of that fancy Clan, Feather Fallers! *
The group of girls stopped and had excited looks on their faces, a few even took photos with him. Then soon walked away gossiping about a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.
"Be safe now!"
*Haha. *
The man turned around and back at Shizu. With a proud smile on his face.
"No need to fret, kid. They won't bother you. As a protector of this wonderful city, it's my job to make sure almost everyone is safe and free to walk around. But I would suggest changing clothes- less attention and less confusion."
Shizu paused, slightly leaning his head at the man.
"Huh. So, you're a Top Ranker... Who are you again...? I'm not sure I've heard of you...?"
*Gah! *
The man's sunglasses flopped on his face, adjusting them, and clearing his throat in the process.
"Well, you see. Overhearing the ladies, I am a part of the Feather Fallers, and my name is-"
*Ring Ring! *
*Ring Ring! *
"Sorry, give me one second. It's probably my leader-"
The man answered the phone quickly.
"Hi hi. uh-huh. Mmm. I see. Ok. Yes, I am in the area. Yes! Sorry, I didn't mean to yell. I'm patrolling, yes. No. Soon you say? Ah, I can easily stop it. No, I won't need backup. Ok. Yeah yeah, Bye now."
Hanging up the phone.
"What happened, it sounded intense? It isn't really my business though...?"
"A villain is on the loose and the cops are trying to look for him plus hold them off until Top Rankers arrive, being me and I was just informed to take care of it. So? That means they should be in my area?"
"Your boss, how strong is he?"
"Wow kid, you really haven't heard of us. You've been living under a rock? Or something?"
'Heh, funny enough I have been...'
"No, not really, I just don't know too much. Not much of a social kind of guy and school only talks about Quests and preparing us for that."
"Hm? So that's what the schools are doing to you guys now...? Well, it never hurts, we'll always need your help in the future. Maybe one day you could join our Clan."
'Haha... I think I won't do that... they wouldn't need me; I'd only hold them back... I'm not the material they would want.'
Shizu forced out a small smile.
"Yeah, maybe."
Some people walked past, shocked to see a Top Ranker in the area. Let alone next to Shizu?
"No photos, please. Thank you!"
"..."
"By the way, I never got your name. And I'm so sorry for taking up your time. I know you're a Top Ranker, and I have the luxury of seeing you for this long… I bet it's awkward for you to be seen talking with someone like me…?"
"Oh, it's not an issue. I would like to be there for those in need of help. And my name is-"
*Boom! *
They both looked in the direction of where the explosion went off.
"Well kid, it was a nice talk, remember to stay safe and get some new clothes. See you later, duty calls."
The Man rushed off in the distance to go save the day as a Top Ranker would do.
"Hm...? That guy was interesting...? The Feather Fallers. I guess it wouldn't hurt to check them out when I get home. Speaking of home, I should head to the Dojo and let Shishou know I'm safe."
Before Shizu made his decision and headed the opposite direction, for some odd reason he was able to pick up screaming coming from where the man went.
"Ah? He did say after all he had it... But I also can't just sit around and ignore it. Damn. I guess it won't hurt to look?"
Shizu ran, making his way to where the action was taking place. As he ran around passing buildings, he came to an open street with police cars surrounding and helping the other civilians. His eyes widened, astonished by the man from earlier.
The man stood in a pose, his arms out and with his Star that looked to produce blue lighting that took the form of webs. With his power, he was holding part of a building from falling on a crying family, a mother and father curled holding their kid. The web stretched out far enough to catch parts of other buildings that were falling apart and almost landing on the cops, while they were moving as fast as they could to get everyone to safety.
Shizu stood still, watching in the back. But as he looked over to his left, he saw someone hunched down on the street. He had a slim build, that probably was the villain the leader was most likely talking about on the phone. It seemed that he started to recover from paralysis. Rubbing his hands on his head from the pain. He saw that the guy was now mad or getting upset.
"No way, he fought him and protected all these people and the police. Impressive! This is the skill of a top... Huh, cool."
"Hurry up! Please, he's recovering quite sooner than I hoped."
The villain who dressed weirdly sprinted over to one of the cop cars, the policeman fired his gun at him, but the bullets didn't faze him. Swiftly the guy swiped his hands, cutting the officer's head clean off his body. After seeing that, most of the people panicked and began to run away. The villain wasn't done there, picking up the cop's car he lifted it over his head peering at the group of girls from before, tossing it as hard as he could at them.
The Top Ranker began to fear as he looked over at the girls and looked back at the family he was protecting, knowing that he couldn't reach them in time.
"Noo! You two, please hurry to safety! I can't save them-"
The girls all stood and watched as the car hurled towards them and hovered over their heads. One of the girls dropped to their knees crying.
