When the three of them arrived at the building Numb was sitting outside on a rock. He greeted them and asked how the fruit picking was.
"Well, it was quite eventful", Phoenix answered him.
"Interesting", commented Dark Dark beside her and looked at Numb.
Frosty stayed silent.
Numb asked Dark Dark: "what happened?"
"There were a lot of shadows but they didn't attack us, instead they just faded away", Phoenix explained with moving her hands after she put down her bags with the fruits.
Numb made big eyes.
"I think, it was kind of like... they were afraid of us", Frosty said.
Phoenix looked at Frosty and added: "we don't know that."
She made a little break.
"But... It could be...", she ended.
"Maybe Saturday knows more about this. He knows a lot. Also about shadows. Maybe he could help you and explain it", Numb suggested.
"Yeah we could ask him", Dark Dark agreed and looked at Phoenix and Frosty what they will think about this.
Phoenix nodded and Frosty just strugged her shoulders. She didn't really care. The shadows earlier didn't hurt her or the others and she thought perhaps they would do it again and just fade away again. However it was still rare that so many shadows as they saw in the woods before, appear in one place again.
The three wanted to go inside the building and Phoenix was about to pick up her bags with the fruits, she put down earlier. Numb came to her and offered: "let me help you with that."
Carefully he picked up the heavy bags and Phoenix thanked him: "that's really nice, thank you."
She smiled at him and watched him carry the bags inside, following adter him. Frosty rolled her eyes. She was pretty sure Phoenix was strong enough to carry them by herself but it was still really friendly of Numb to help her. Dark Dark walked inside after Phoenix. Frosty was last.
Numb carried the bags into the back of the kitchen where the storage was. Phoenix helped him to store the fruits into the right places. Fade and July were already in the kitchen before and gave them a hand too.
Dark Dark and Frosty went into the library to meet Saturday. When they saw him he was busy searching for something in one of the bookshelfs.
"Hey, what you looking for?", Dark Dark asked curious.
Saturday got scared because he didn't see them coming in and didn't expected someone to talk to him right now. His eyes were wide open and he suddenly turned around and looked at Frosty who stood next to Dark Dark.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you", he apologized to Saturday.
"But you did...", Saturday said and was already thinking about what he was searching for before they came to him, looking back at the bookshelf.
"We want to know more about shadows", Frosty started with staring at the back of Saturday's head. He turned around again and gave them all of his attention.
"We met a lot of evil shades in the woods before and they acted weird. They just faded away and we couldn't make out way", Frosty continued.
Saturday looked concentrated at her and listened to what she said. He thought about what she told him.
Dark Dark watched him and guessed what he could say to that.
Was it because they were afraid of them, like Frosty said ealier? Or was it because they were so afraid of Frosty? Was she too powerful for them? Were there not enough shadows to fight the three of them? Were they afraid of Dark Dark's and Phoenix fire? Or did they fade away because of something else? Or someone else? Someone who was hiding near by and no one realised? Someone more powerful that the three of them? Hoe could they just hide there and not be seen? Could they become invisible like Trick could? Or did they used some other trick to hide themselves in the woods unseen by Phoenix, Dark Dark and Frosty but present enough to scare away the evil shades?
