Angel's POV:
One Month Later*
I sat in my room and red my book. I heard another knock on my door. I rolled my eyes. "Ace, for the last time, leave me the fuck alone!!" I yelled. "Angel please. Can we talk?" He asked. "No!!" I said. He then kicked my door, make it break at the bottom. "Asshole! I yelled. "Bitch!" He yelled. Me and him were still not on speaking terms.
After that day in Venice, Italy, he decided we should have a break. It hurt me that he thinks that just because he lost control, that we should break up. I didn't like it. But I decided to just go with it. I didn't want anything to do with him so I've been avoiding him. I didn't want to be nowhere near Ace. I heard another knock on my door. I sighed loudly. "What?!" I yelled.
"Uh Angel?" Rose called. I got up and walked over to the door and opened it. I looked at her. "You have a visitor." Rachel said, coming up behind her. "I thought you said none of us could have visitors?" I asked. "Well you got one. An important one." Bailey said. I looked at Ace. He and Kyle looked uncomfortable. I got up and walked out the door.
I walked downstairs and came to the living room. I gasped when I saw Kya. "Kya?" I said. She looked at me with tears in her eyes. We ran over and hugged each other. "Kya, how did you find me?" I asked. "I've been following you since the day after you left. Then you disappeared for a week. I got scared." She said. "Why? What's wrong?" I asked. "Mama's upset that you left and she's been taking it out on me." She said.
"Oh. Well I'm sorry about that but I'm not coming home." I said. She shook her head. "That's not all." She said. "What is it?" I asked. "I have big news. You are an auntie." She said. I stared at her. "You're pregnant?" I asked. She nodded. "Oh my God. Kya you're fourteen." I said. "I know and I don't know how to tell Mama." I said. I put my hands on my head.
"Oh my God Kya. Do you have any idea how hard it is to raise a child?" I asked. "Look I made a mistake and I don't know what to do. I haven't even told Mama." She said. "Well I don't know what to do either. She doesn't love me." I said. "What are you talking about? Of course she loves you. She's been taking care of you for years." She said.
"No she doesn't love me. I heard her say it." I said. "How? I was in the room when y'all were arguing. You were talking about how you were feeling weird." She said. "She said it in her hea-" I paused. I remembered that she didn't know that I was a mutant. "Look Kya. You don't know what exactly is going on but she doesn't love me." I said. She sighed.
"Yeah she has been feeling pretty ill about you since you ran away. She's been talking mad shit about you but I don't wanna talk about that. I'm already sick as a dog." She said. "Kya I honestly don't know what to tell you. You should've been more careful." I said. "Oh please. Like you've never been careful when having sex." She said. "I'm always careful." I said.
My mind flashed back to the trip in Italy. Ace and I had sex and he ended up losing control and gave me bruises. Plus we didn't use protection. But I'm on birth control and I took a plan B. "Angel please help me. I don't want to do and I don't want to talk to Mama." She said. "Kya I don't know what to say right now." I said. She sat down and began to cry. I sat down beside her.
That's when I realized everyone was still there, listening to us. "Can't get no privacy in this house." I said, standing up. I grabbed Kya's hand and pulled her outside. We sat down on the porch. "Angel I don't know what to do." She said. "Neither do I." I said. Then I had a thought. I looked at her. "Do you want to keep it?" I asked. "Why would you even ask me that?!" She cried.
"Kya raising a child is not easy. After seeing Mama raise the both of us, I can see that it's no walk in the park." I said. I looked down at her. "Does the guy even know?" I asked. She shook her head. "Not yet." She said. "Well Kya, all I can say is that it's your decision. So do what you wanna do." I said. "That's the thing. I don't know what to do." She said. She rested her head on my shoulder.
I laid my head on her shoulder. "I don't know either little bunny. The only thing I can say is to do what you wanna do. It's your decision, not anyone else's." I said. She stared off into space. It was a few minutes of silence before she spoke. "Will you come with me?" She asked. "To where?" I asked. She sighed. "The abortion clinic." She said. I looked at her. "Kya if you do that, you are gonna have to live with that decision." I said.
I made her look at me. "For the rest of your life." I said. She sighed. "I don't know what to do. If I get rid of it, I'll regret it later on. If I keep it, Mama will be pissed." She said. "Kya what do you think you should do?" I asked. "I should do the right thing." She said. "Exactly." I said. She looked up at me. "Well can I give it up for adoption? I mean you're adopted. You've handle the adopted life pretty well." She said.
"Kya I don't know about that. But like I said, it's your decision. It's whatever you wanna do." I said. "I don't know what to do Angel!!" She cried. She cried in my arms. I tried to think. I stood up and pulled Kya into the house with me. "Rachel!!" I called. "Yes?" She said. "Do you think you can maybe put Kya somewhere?" I asked. "You mean find her a place to live?" She asked. I nodded. She shook her head.
"No. Angel we don't do that." She said. "Please Rachel!! She's desperate. I don't want to lose my little sister." I said. "She's not really related to you." She said, nonchalantly. "I don't care about that!! Know what? Don't even worry about it. I'll move out and find a new home for me and my little sister." I said. "No!!" Everyone cried. "Angel I'm sorry but she can't stay here." Rachel said.
"I'll take care of her." Someone said. We turned to see Christina. "What?" I asked. "I'll take care of her. Kya you can stay with me." She said. "Can I trust her?" Kya asked. "Yeah. She's nice and kind and sweet. She'll take good care of you." Ace said. I didn't look at him. "O-okay." Kya said. "Angel you can check in on Kya anytime you like." Christina said. "Thank you so much Christina." I said. "Will Douglas approve?" Rachel asked.
"I'll deal with him. Kya you go home and pack." Christina said. "I'll come with." I said. The three of us walked out to the van. We got in then Ace jumped in after us. I stared at him. "Really?" I said. He nodded. "We need to talk." He said. "Who he?" Kya asked. "Her boyfriend." Ace said. "My ex." I said. He glared at me. "I'm her boyfriend." He said. "He's an ex." I said.
"They used to be best friends and now they're dating." Christina said. "Christina!!" I whined. She drove off into town. I directed her to the house I used to call home. We slowly got out. "This brings back memories Angel?" Kya asked. I nodded. "Yep." I said. We walked inside. Mama looked at us. "Kya what have I told you about-" She paused when she saw me. She glared at me. "The fuck are you doing here?" She asked.
"I'm here for Kya's things." I said. "Things?" She repeated. "Yes. Mama I'm leaving." Kya said. "The hell you are. Kya you are my child. My REAL child. You are not leaving." Mama said. "Mama I don't want to stay here anymore. Look at all the bruises you gave me since Angel left." Kya said. She lifted up her shirt. I gasped and saw all the bruises she had. They were worse than mine but mine were healing. "These look fresh." Ace said.
"They do. Mama, look I'm sorry, but she's not staring here." I said. She got in my face. "Ain't nobody talking to you." She said. I got closer to her. "Well I'm talking to you." I said, lowly. "Angel don't do it. Please." Ace said. "Who the hell is this nigga? Who is this bitch?! Why are y'all being random people to my house?" Mama asked. "This is Christina and this is Ace." I said.
"And why should I give a fuck?" She asked. "Ace is my boy and Christina is Kya's new caretaker." I said. "The hell she is. Kya is my child. I didn't give anyone permission to give her up to to let her be out on her own." She said. "Mama you've beaten every day since Angel left. I don't want to live here anymore." Kya cried. Mama slapped her. I got angry and pushed her.
She glared at me. " I know you didn't just fucking-" she slapped me. I punched her and knocked her down. "Angel stop!!" Ace yelled, as he held me back. "YOU WILL NOT PUT YOUR FUCKING HANDS ON ME KYA!!" I shouted. Mama eas on the floor bleeding. "Kya go pack." I demanded. She quickly ran upstairs. "No....Kya..." Mama said, weakly. I actually felt bad for her but then she stood up and punched me.
Christina raised her hand and made her freeze. "Look, we don't have time for this. Kya is coming with us whether you like it or not." She said. She forced Mama to go sit down in the living room. "What are you Christina?" I asked. "I'm a witch obviously." She said. We waited for Kya to come back down. I even helped her packed. Ace helped too.
"Angel I'm sorry." He said, suddenly. I looked up at him. "I'm sorry what I did and I'm sorry for what I said." He said. "It's fine Ace. I'm over it." I said. "What he do?" Kya asked. Me and Ace both blushed hard. "Long story." I said, quickly. We walked downstairs and carried Kya's stuff to the van. "Angel are you sure I'll be safe with Christina?" Kya asked. "Yes." I said.
"I've been there lots of times. She's harmless." Ace said. I smiled at her. "Plus, she's four months pregnant so she can't really do anything." He said. "That explains why I haven't seen her in so long." I said. We got in the car and rode off. I looked down at Kya. She shook her knee. I grabbed her hand and held it. "It's gonna be okay." I said. She leaned on me and cried silently. Ace held my hand.
Christina pulled up to an unfamiliar house. We got out. "This brings back memories Ace?" Christina asked. "Yeah." Ace said. We walked inside. "Christian!!" Kya said. I looked up and saw he standing by a fireplace with a book in his hands. We ran over to him and hugged him. "Hey Angel and Kya. How you girls been?" He asked. "Oh you girls know him?" Christina asked.
"Yeah. We love him." I said. "I know these girls. Angel, I heard about what happened down at the café and I'm sorry about that. I noticed you haven't been around since the incident." He said. "Yeah I've been busy." I said. "Yeah. Christina told me what happened to you and your friends. Well it seems like you got it under control." He said. "Yeah. It was weird at first but I got it." I said.
"Got what?" Kya asked. "Oh. She doesn't know?" Christian asked. "No. She doesn't." I said. "Know what?" Kya asked. "Kya it's a really long story." I said. "Tell me. Angel I'm not a little girl anymore. Whatever it is, I can handle it." She said. "Kya no." I said. "Angel I swear, I will go back to Mama." She said. I sighed and told her everything about mutants. "So you're a dragon, she's a witch, he's a werewolf, Christian is a shenigami?" She said.
"Yep. Kya there's a whole world of mutants but you can not tell anyone. If you do, we could die or you could die. If Rachel found out, she'll kill you." Christina said. "Wow. So Angel, you weren't going crazy. You can actually read minds." She said. I nodded. "Yeah. Kya I know this is a lot to take in but you gotta be careful now. If Rachel finds out you know, she will kill you." Ace said.
"I won't tell anyone." She said. "Come on. Let's unpack." I said. "Wait. She's moving in? What happened?" Christian asked. We explained to him everything that happened. "Wow. Raising a child is a big responsibility Kya. You think you can handle it?" He asked. "I don't know. But I can't do this by myself." She said.
"If you need any help, just let us know. And Kya, call me if something happens." I said. She nodded. "I will." She said. "Here's my new number. I had to get a new one." I said, as I inputted my number in her phone. We helped her unpack then left. "Christina do you think Douglas will approve of Kya?" Ace asked. "No. But I'll try to convince him to let her stay." She said.
She then made a sharp turn. "Sorry y'all. I'm hungry." She said. She pulled up to a Walmart. We walked in and headed for the McDonald's section. I looked around and saw a shirt that was cute. I walked over to the clothing section and looked around. "Hi Angel." Someone said. I turned around to see Tabitha. I gasped. "Hey remember me?" She asked.
"Yes. Oh my God. Hi Tabitha. I haven't seen you in a long while." I said. "Yeah sorry about that. I changed my schedule and they messed up my classes so I've had to deal with being in different classes from you. God, it's so good to see you again." She said. "You too." I said. She looked down at my necklace. "That's a pretty necklace." She said. "Thank you so much." I said.
"It looks like my necklace my ex boyfriend gave me." She said. "Oh really? Who was it?" I asked. My arm was grabbed suddenly. I looked up to see Ace. "Angel we gotta go." He said. "Oh hi Ace." Tabitha said. I looked between them. "You know him?" I asked. "Of course! How can I forget about my quick tempered, ex boyfriend?" She said. I looked at Ace. "Ex boyfriend?" I said.
He looked down. "Oh wow. So this must be something to see your ex huh Ace?" I asked, pointedly. He didn't look at me. He stared at Tabitha. "Well I can't say I'm not surprised to see her. I had a hard time getting rid of her last time I saw her." He said. "Oh please. Ace why you acting funny in front of your friend?" The girl asked. I noticed she put a hard emphasis on the word friend.
"Though I must say Tabitha, it's good to see you but we have to leave." Ace said, as he pulled me away. Tabitha grabbed my hand. "Oh but I was enjoying my chat with Angel." She said. "Chat? We were just talking about my shirt." I said. She snapped her head towards me. "I know." She said. She looped her arm through mine. "Besides I want to get to know you Angel." She said.
Her grip on my arm tightened. "Oh you're so gorgeous. I'm jealous." She said. "That's obvious." Ace muttered. She ignored him. "Angel we have lots to talk about." She said. "Oh yeah. I-I guess we do." I said. "Actually Angel, we should be getting back. Rachel." He said the last part quietly. "Oh but I wanna spend time with Angel, the great surf guru." Tabitha said. Then she gasped. "Oh yeah." She said.
"What?" I asked. "Angel I heard about your unfortunate shark attack incident. Are you okay?" She asked. "Yeah. I'm fine. I'm all healed up." I said. She smiled. Something about her smile seemed off to me. "Hey Christina." She said. I looked over to see Christina glaring at her. "Hey Tabitha." She said. "Aww. Are you still mad at me? I said I was sorry." Tabitha said.
"What happened?" I asked. " I was once pregnant before but Tabitha slammed a door into my stomach and I lost my baby." She said. "I really am sorry Christina. It was an accident. I didn't see you there. I thought I was alone. Plus, I tried to make it up to you." Tabitha said. "I don't want you to." Christina said, harshly. "Uh how do you guys know each other?" I asked.
"Tabitha used to be in our facility. She and I dated the first few years then she became aggressive and a stalker and I broke it off with her. She freaked out and had to be transferred." Ace said, glaring at her. "Well I'm better now Ace. I've learned my lesson. I know that I can get crazy sometimes but I've got it under control." Tabitha said. "What are you?" I asked. "A dragon." She said. "Really? Me too." I said.
"Oh wow. That's fantastic. I've always wanted someone to fly around with." She said. Ace then harshly yanked me away from her. "We need to leave. Rachel is looking for us." Christina said. We walked away. I waved goodbye to Tabitha. She waved bye then turned around and walked away. "Ex boyfriend?" I said, to Ace. "Angel don't start please." He said.
We walked outside and got in the van. "Angel it was a long time ago." Ace said. I ignored him. He grabbed my hands roughly. "Angel we are not about to do this shit again. It was a long time ago." He said. "How long ago?" I asked. "When I was ten." He said. I gasped. "Yeah. It was so long ago. I'm over her." He said. "He's right Angel. By the way, stay away from Tabitha." Christina said. I looked at her.
"What? But she's so nice and so sweet." I said. "She seems that way at first but she can change and turn psycho any moment." Ace said. "Please Angel. Stay away from her. She's killed two people before she thought Ace was secretly dating them, even though Ace didn't even know them." Christina said. Ace made me look at him. "Promise me you'll stay away from her?" He asked.
I nodded. "I promise." I said. He held out his pinky. I used my pinky and tied it to his. Tabitha, are you really that dangerous?
