Lucky's POV:
Since Marcus's and Angel's accident, I've been pretty occupied with them. Checking on them, making sure they're straight. But it's been hard. Elizabeth has been on me like crazy. Since Angel told me they day they crashed, Marcus was arguing with someone named Beth. It was Elizabeth. She didn't like being called Beth because that name sounded weak. I talked to Marcus and he said he did get into an argument with Elizabeth. He said he thinks Elizabeth cut his brakes. I couldn't believe it. I knew Elizabeth was crazy but almost killing my mate and best friend? She psycho. That's why I'm meeting up with her. I waited for her at the bowling alley. It's where we first met.
She found it magical while I found it the opposite. Meeting her was the worst day of my life. She walked up to me with her purse in hand. "Hey baby." She said, as she sat down. She leaned over to kiss me but I moved away. "Okay one, don't call me baby. Cause I'm not. Two, why did you it Marcus's brakes?" I asked, irritably. She stared at me before laughing. She stopped when she seen I was serious. "Lucky he started it. All I wanted to do was talk to you. He wouldn't tell me where you were and that I should just forget about you. About us." She said. She grabbed my hand. I yanked it away. "You almost killed my best friend and mate and you still think there's an us?" I said. She grew pale. "Mate?" She repeated. "Yes. I have a mate now. And I love her very much." I said.
She looked ready to cry. "Lucky I-I thought-" I cut her off. "You thought what? That you'd come back and we pick up where we left off? I don't think so." I said, scoffing. "Lucky I said I was sorry. I apologized to you, that girl's family, and I paid my dues." She said. "And your right back on your shit." I said, as I stood up. "No wait. I'll change." She said. I stared at her. "Elizabeth please don't lie to me." I said. She looked up at me. Tears were in her eyes. "No really. I'll change. I came here to show you that I have. I didn't mean to but Marcus's brakes. I was just angry because he wouldn't tell me where you were." She said. "If you really changed, you would've never did what you did." I said.
She nodded quickly. "And you right. But I've changed. Let's go to dinner. We can catch up. I'll tell you everything that I've done since I've left." She said. I looked into her eyes. They were pleading with me. I sighed. "Okay fine." I said. She sighed in relief. "But one more fuck up, and I want you to leave me alone. Understand?" I said. She nodded. We left and we got to a restaurant. Unfortunately, it was the one Marcus crashed into. "No. Let's go somewhere else." I said. "Why? This is the best restaurant in town." She said. "This is where Marcus crashed." I said. She stared at me. She showed no signs of backing down. I gave in. I wanted to get this over with. We walked and was immediately seated. I looked around.
I saw the huge dent in the wall, letting me know that where Marcus's car crashed. "So Lucky, how you been?" Elizabeth asked, suddenly. I looked at her. "Good." I said. She nodded. Her eyes studied me. I looked away from her. She made me look at her. "Please. Don't do that." She said. "Do what?" I asked. "Look away from me." She said. She reminded me of my words I told Angel last week ago. We stared at each other. "Well are you gonna talk or am I wasting my time?" I asked. She chuckled. "I see you still have your Mom's smart mouth." She said. I nodded. "Okay Lucky. I'm gonna be honest. I came back because I wanted to start a new relationship with you. The way we left off...it was a disaster. It shouldn't have ended the way that it did." She said.
"Wait. Let me get this straight. You came back to town just to get back with me?" I asked. She nodded. I stood up to leave. "But I have changed." She said, quickly. "Elizabeth we came here to talk about what you did to get better, not fix our relationship." I said. The color drained from her face. She nodded and I sat back down. "Okay. I left town, you know that. I got checked into a mental hospital. They gave me medication, I went to the classes they had, got better, and now here I am." She said, smiling. "Doesn't sound like you had much help." I said. "You want the long version?" She asked. "Wouldn't hurt to include some more things." I said. She stared at me before continuing. I found out her uncle is a principal at a school on the other side of town. Apparently he got transferred to another school.
Now she's living with him. She did time in juvie. Meet some people and now she's apparently more friendlier. I must admit, it felt good reconnecting with her again after all these years. We laughed and caught up with each other. "I'm telling you Lucky. It's like cats were made to be clowns." She said. I laughed. We left the rest and walked into town. We talked more before she had to leave. "Well, I guess I see you tomorrow?" She asked. I nodded. "You don't go to our school anymore?" I asked. She shook her head. "After what happened last time I was there, they won't let me back. And I'm sure Kacey doesn't wanna see me. You remember? She said she'll slice my throat up if she saw me." She said.
I laughed. "Classic Kacey." I said. Out of nowhere, she kissed me. I was surprised but didn't stop it. She pulled back and smiled. "Later Lucky." She said, before walking away. Okay. What. The fuck?! I didn't tell her to kiss me. But you didn't stop her. Look I'm tired. I don't wanna get into it right now. But you bout to. What? Keisha is staring at you. On your right. I turned to the right to see Keisha staring at me. She was with some girls. They all were looking at me. She walked away. "I knew that nigga won't shit." A girl said. "Keisha!!! Wait!!!" I yelled, as I chased after her. I grabbed her arm but she yanked away. "What's your problem?" I asked. "Nothing." She said. "You mad cause Marcus can't give you dick til he gets better?" I said, sarcastically.
She slapped me. "Owww!!! Man I was just playing." I said. "Whatever. Tell yo new hoe she gon get stomped." She said. "Why?" I asked. "You know why Lucky. Don't play dumb nigga. You know Angel got a crush on you." She said. "What?" I said, pretending to be surprised. She glared at me. "Lucky you know damn well you and Angel are together." She said. I stared at her. "How'd you know?" I asked. "She told me dumbass. That's okay. Don't come by the house anymore. After tonight, I'm sure Angel will agree with me." She said, before walking away. "Keisha's my ex." I said. "Oh so Angel is an ex now?" She asked. "What? No. Elizabeth." I said. "Oh so that's the hoe name. Good. It narrowed down my search." She said, before running into the woods. She transformed and ran. Noooo! She can't tell Angel.
I tried to chase after her but she was fast. I stopped her up like I did Angel. But she bit my leg, causing us both to fall. We fell hard. "Keisha listen. I was just..." I trailed off. "Just what Lucky? You know, I thought you were different. One that's gon treat my little sister right but naw. You just another fuckboy." She said. "I am Keisha. Look. Just let me tell Angel. Please. I'll sort everything out. I'll tell her and this'll all be over okay?" I said. She glared at me before nodding. Um what the fuck? I just need time. Time for what? I transformed and flew to Marcus's house. I ran inside his house and up to his room. "Lucky, man what you doing here?" He asked, as he tried to sit up. I helped him up. "Your not gonna like this." I said.
He stared at me. I explained to hi the situation I'm in and my kids with Elizabeth. After I was done, he was quiet. His eyes then helped yellow. "Get out." He said. "What?" I asked. "GET OUT LUCKY!!!" He shouted. I stared at him. "Look Marcus, I'm sorry man but there's nothing I can do." I said. He sighed angrily. "Lucky thats fucked up man. I'm yo best friend and Imma tell you like it is. That's fucked up. This is Angel we're talking about. She's the sweetest thing in the world and you gon do her like that?" He said. "I never said it was right." I said. "Lucky it's not right." He said. "What do you mean Marcus? What, I can't have two girls by my side?" I asked, angrily. He stood up and got in my face.
"You know why you can't two girls by your side. You have your mate and your psycho ex. One of them loves you while the other wants to keep him all to herself. Hmm. Help me figure what's wrong with this picture." He said, sarcastically. I sighed. "Your right." I said. "I know I am. Stringing two girls along for fun when, trust me, it isn't." He said. "What should I do?" I asked. "Oh I don't know, break it off with Elizabeth. The bitch nearly killed me and Angel and you kiss her? Man I ain't never met someone so stupid." He said, as he laid back down. My feelings were hurt. I stared at my hands. Tears filled my eyes. I left his room and downstairs. Julienne saw me. "Hey baby. Lucky, what's wrong?" She asked.
I told her my situation. I could barely get my words out. She sat me down and we talked. "Lucky I agree with Marcus. That's not right. Angel is so sweet. Elizabeth is not. Just because you reconnected with her don't mean everything is all good. People can still be who they are. She showed her true colors and there's no going back after that. Don't worry about Elizabeth if you got the greatest mate in the world." She said. I smiled. Then she slapped me. "Owww!!" I cried. "That's for kissing Elizabeth. You know good and well not to string girls along. I taught you better than that." She said. "Yes ma'am." I said. "Now come on. I made dinner and you are gonna take a plate to go." She said. We went to the kitchen. I said my goodbyes and saw Marcus in the living room.
He apologized but he wanted me to forget all about Elizabeth. I told him that I have no choice. I went home and ate my food. I went to bed and woke up with a headache. I drove to school and saw Angel and Keisha standing by the gym. Angel was crying. Shit Keisha. I got out and walked over to them. "H-Hey Angel. Why are you crying?" I asked, nervously. "Keisha might be moving to live my parents." She said, between sobs. I sighed in relief. I looked at Keisha. She glared at me. "Angel, it's nothing personal dude. Besides, I might not move." She said. "If you want Marcus to have a heart attack, I don't think it's a good idea to move away." I said. "Speaking of moving, Lucky don't you have something to tell Angel?" Keisha said, crossing her arms.
I glared at her. Angel looked at me. It made me sad seeing her cry. "Uh yeah. I'm taking you out on a date this weekend." I said. She perked up. "Okay. That's fine." She said. She walked away. She looked back at us. "Y'all coming?" She asked. I nodded. Keisha walked behind her. "You a bitch!!!" She hissed. I stuck my middle finger up at her. We walked to the cafeteria. It was good to see Marcus back at school. Everyone wanted to sign his casts. It made Keisha jealous when girls came over to sign his casts. "Alright hoes. That's enough signing." She said, as she put an arm around Marcus. He frowned at her. The day went on and school finally ended. I walked out to the parking lot with my arm around Angel. Now everyone knew we were dating.
I kissed Angel, making her giggle. I looked up and saw Elizabeth staring at Angel. Aw shit. Yeaaaaahhhh. Now it's finna be interesting. "Lucky?" Angel called. "Hmm?" I said. "Do you want to?" She asked. "Want to what?" I asked. "Come to Kacey's graduation party?" She said. I looked back at Kacey. "Do you want to?" She asked. I nodded. "Hell yeah. Marcus do you think you'll be off your crutches by then? You know I can only turn up if you're turned up too." I said. He smirked. "Boy please. You'd turn up even if I wasn't there." He said. I laughed. "Yeah I'm going." I said. "Alright!!! We gon turn up!!!!" Trey yelled. We all walked away. Angel began to walk towards her car before I grabbed her hair and pulled her back.
I kissed her. She pulled back and blushed. "Your such an ass." She said. "But you still love me." I said. She giggled. "I do." She said. She kissed me again then walked to her car. I walked to mine, trying my best to avoid looking at Elizabeth. I got in my car but I wasn't quick enough. "So whose she?" She asked, with tone in her voice. I looked at her. "So? Who is she Lucky?" She asked, angrily. I stood up and got in her face. "Who you talking to?!" I asked, angrily. She backed down from me. I got in and drove off. I drove past Marcus who gave me a look. He laughed out loud. I chuckled. I can't with him. I drove off to my house. Elizabeth followed me. "Lucky I think we should talk." She said. "About what? Elizabeth there's no us. So is that's why you came to talk to me, you can forget it." I said.
"What about yesterday? All the things we talked about." She said. "I wanted to know how you got better. And that's what I did." I said. "Lucky please." She said. I ignored her as I walked towards the front door. "Lucky if you get back together with me, your mate will disappear." She screamed. I paused and slowly turned around. I saw red. My vision was completely red. "Say that shit again." I said, as I stalked towards her. "Lucky I didn't wanna have to do this, but I will kill another bitch for you. I had you first. Not Angel." She said. I stared at her. "Yeah. I heard her name." She said. I grabbed her and slammed her against her car. "Listen to this. If you even breathe the same air as Angel, I will end you." I said, icily. Tears filled her eyes. I don't put my hands on women but she is an exception. She shouldn't have talked about Angel.
"Lucky-" I cut her off. "I mean it Elizabeth. Stay away from Angel. If you thought you were crazy, you haven't seen it yet." I said, threateningly. She stared at me. "Lucky, I have been patient with you. I'd rather die than see you with another woman." She said. She pushed me off of her. "Then you will die." I said, icily. She gasped. "I'm not playing with you Elizabeth. Stay away from Angel." I said. I walked back to the door to see my parents standing there. I ignored them and walked inside. I took a shower and got in bed. A few minutes later, Dad came in. He shut the door. "Son is there anything we need to talk about?" He asked. I shook my head as I stared at my phone. It was a picture of me and Angel that day we went to Carowinds.
She looked so pretty that day. "Son." Dad said. I sighed. "How'd y'all know we were out there?" I asked. "We heard something hard hit a car. We came to check it out." He said. He sat down. "Now talk." He said. I sighed and explained everything to him. "So that's how Marcus crashed. He's such a good, careful driver." He said. I nodded. "Yeah. And she said she was gonna kill Angel if I didn't get with her." I said. Then I got a text from Elizabeth. How the hell she get my phone number? It was a picture from her. A picture of her in lingerie and a picture of Angel sitting with Meghan and Alma. My stay dropped. She knows where Angel lives? Angel isn't safe. "Lucky?" Dad called. I showed him the pictures.
"Dad she's psycho. Really psycho. She's know where Angel lives now." I said, worriedly. "Calm down. We'll just tell the Magic Council. They'll protect her." He said. I nodded. "I hope so." I said. I looked at Elizabeth's last text. "Do you want me now Daddy?" I shook my head. No I don't want you and I never will. Dad left and I stared off into space. I really didn't want anything bad to happen to Angel. Why? Why is she doing this? Of all the people in the world to be obsessed over, why me? I drifted off to sleep and tried to dream good dreams. But they were nightmares. Horrible nightmares.
