I was deeply shaken that I couldn't get my dream out of my mind.

A python as my soul mate?

Ridiculous.

I couldn't believe what Gabriel had implied either.

He told me that a python was one of Apollo's animal transformations.

Gabriel had given me a lecture about Greek Mythology after he had comforted me in his arms, stroking my hair while I buried my face in his shirt, tears staining my cheeks.

Apollo was recognized as a god of archery, music and dance, truth and prophecy, healing and diseases, the sun and light, and poetry. According to the myths, he can transform into a python, crow, wolf, dolphin, swan, and mouse.

So I had to look out for these animals whenever it crossed my path because according to Gabriel, we would never know if one of the animals was an avatar of Apollo without my knowledge and would probably attempt to kidnap me.
