Annoyed and angry, Ian pressed affectionate kisses all along Mina's face, whispering that if she felt uncomfortable at all, all she had to do was squeeze his hand. He glared at Jeremy who rolled his eyes because the interaction meant nothing to him. Mina chuckled at the jealous display, wincing as the pain from her bruised, and likely broken rib, coursed through her chest again. She closed her eyes tightly, trying to breathe through the feeling.
Mina was familiar with the sensation of broken bones, and she remembered that Nael fractured her jaw in the past. It was minor and required nothing but rest and a few months to heal. She was certain she broke her fingers while working through university and two of her ribs were broken when she drove off a bridge, trying to get away. She did not want to tell Ian of her previous injuries because she did not want him to feel guilty; especially since it later turned out to be that he had not done anything.
