Lucas knew it was unfair, but he could only categorize his son as among the most foolish men alive. The woman he claimed to love voluntarily came into his home and tried to make peace, and yet, Ian pushed her away as 'unclean' based solely on the word of a man who was also in pursuit of the woman's affections. He said that he was just trying to be cautious, but Lucas reminded him of all the women he was with, and although his son denied having intercourse, he admitted to other things.
"Do you really think that man would be bringing flowers if there were any truth behind his words?" Lucas looked up to and pointed to one of the men he held responsible for his son's idiocy. "Drax, why didn't you stop him?"
"I told him that he was making a mistake. Even Mills told him, but the pirate has a brother, and he was vague when we called him, so Ian kept assuming."
