Through Ubi, the jewelry line she collaborated with the Lee Group on, Mina was invited to a charity event meant to raise money for new books and learning supplies for schools within low tax bracket districts. She was meant to give a speech at the event, and she wanted every second of it to count. She also wanted to look her best because she knew that the attention span of the people she would be speaking to was short. If she wanted to keep their attention, it would have to be visually.
