Mina started to tremble, and President Lee tightened his grip on her hand, forcing her to look down, seeming to have only just realized that he was still holding onto it. She gently shook his hand away, not wanting or needing the contact to become misread. The last thing Mina needed was for President Lee to think that she liked or wanted him in any way. It would set her all the way back with Lisa if she somehow caught wind of the fact that they were 'holding hands.'
Mina listened to President Lee tell her that communication had never been his strong suit. He went into details about other things that went in one ear and out the other, because she was struggling to figure out what was real and what was fake. He snapped his fingers in her face a few times and Mina looked down; guilty that she had just tuned the man out while trying to decide if she had time to flee.
