Lisa stood listening to director Porter with a dumbfounded expression on her face. When she approached, her main goal was to embarrass Mina, while simultaneously earning the director's trust for warning him about Mina's true character.
Lisa did not expect that director Porter would introduce Mina as his employee, and she was confused by that ridiculous title he had given her. It was almost as if the man wanted to put the woman in charge of a little bit of everything at once. Lisa hid her emotions well and forced out a smile.
"Mina and I are acquainted," Lisa said.
"How perfect! Then I trust there won't be an issue having her attend on my behalf?"
"None at all sir." Lisa genuinely meant her words. She had plans for Mina but now she would have to let them play out slowly. It was Mina who voiced her objections.
"Director Porter, sir, I am not sure it is a good idea to send me alone," Mina admitted. She was tactful in her response, but she really wanted to quit on the spot.
