Mina rubbed the back of her head.
Lisa had pushed her with more strength than she thought the woman was capable.
The guard that President Lee assigned to her looked worried. Mina knew that he probably felt responsible for not keeping a closer eye on her, so when he asked her if she was okay, she lied to make him feel better. In reality, her head was throbbing, and she could feel a knot growing in the spot that hit the ground.
Mina laughed to ease the man's mind, but it only seemed to make him more concerned.
"Are you sure you're okay?" he asked.
"I am fine," Mina said. "It's just that I didn't think your face could show any expression other than a frown." The man smirked at Mina, he knew she was deflecting, but he would not patronize her by forcing her to admit she was hurt. Sometimes, women were not given the credit they deserved for their resilience.
