The ride back home after a very hectic day at the office was filled with complete silence. Leo just sat silently on the driver's seat as he sped his car through the road. On the other hand, Isla just kept looking out of the window, her eyes were already falling shut but she kept her eyes open and tried to fix it on the moon that seems to be following them.
It has been their routine now. Isla would wait at the parking lot for Leo and when he comes , they both ride the car together. It's convenient this way. Isla is thankful for that. They usually go back home a little late when the moon is already up.
The fiasco that happened in the office today was entertaining. The normal , boring day of the office was sparked up by the mere event of a blond woman raging through the corridor with trail of curses leaving her beautiful, plump lips. Isla resist the urge to scoff at that.
She glances at her husband who had his jaw clenched and was staring ahead on the road with a stern gaze, probably too annoyed by what happened today.
His suit coat is discarded on the back seat, two of his top Buttons are undone and tie lies loosely around his neck. His once styled black hair are disheveled but he looks beautiful nonetheless.
" Staring is rude, Mrs Pattinson." He remarks not even looking at Isla but the said girl flushes a little at being caught. Leo quickly glances at her before looking at the road ahead of him. " What's going on your pretty head?" He asked, his face as hard as ever.
" Who was that girl who came to office today?" She asked out of curiosity . Is she his supposed girlfriend? Or is she is ex-girlfriend?
A snort from Leo makes her frown as she turns to look at the handsome as*hole again. She can see that an arrogant smug look is plastered over Leo's face.
" Why ! Are you jealous?" He asked with quirk of his left brow as he steal a quick glance at her.
Jealous? Had he fallen on his head or something?
This time she didn't even bother to roll her eyes at Leo because the said man was so full of himself.
"There is nothing for me to be jealous of. It was just plain funny that our respected boss was being called As*hole, basta*rd and various different words. " She scoffed as if the entire scene is playing in front of her again. " She must have lots of guts to do that."
Leo didn't comment after that, not did he answered Isla's question. His face was red and Isla didn't knew whether that was from anger or embarrassment but the way he avoided her gaze showed that he was the latter . Even if she didn't get an answer to her questions, Isla didn't push further, if Leo didn't wanna talk about it then she will respect his feelings.
They were silent even after they reached their appartment. Leo silently unlocked the door as he stepped in and Isla followed suit.
He discarded his already loose tie on the sofa along with his suit coat . It was like his habit.
" What would you like to eat?" He suddenly asked when Isla was already halfway on the staircase. She turned around on her heels, her feet already protesting . Leo was looking up at her with a bottle of water clutched in his hand.
" Anything is fine." She replied with a shrug.
" I am gonna order bibimbap. Is that okay with you?" He asked.
" Yeah."
With that said, she retreats to get room and instantly made her way towards the bathroom to take a warm shower. Her muscles are aching like crazy after sitting hunched all day long. A warm water soothes her tense muscles and she moans at the feeling.
When she gets back downstairs, dressed in baggy black sweater and loose sweatpants, Leo is already sitting on the sofa, some superhero movie playing in the background. A box of bibimbap is sitting on the teapoy and Isla's stomach makes embarrassing noise which causes her to blush instantly, she thanks the god that Leo is far from her so that he didn't hear any of that noise.
She silently walked towards him and sat on the sofa, a healthy distance between them. Leo grabbed a box of bibimbap and gave it to Isla along with chopsticks.
They sat silently eating their dinner as Leo was too immersed into the movie. To be honest, Isla was never a fan of action movies, she just likes rom-com kinda movie.
Isla placed the now empty box on the table, silently taking note that she would throw it into trash later. She shuffled and pulled her legs close to her chest as she let herself be comfortable on the sofa.
They weren't that comfortable with eachother but it was okay. Isla had a lack of company and Leo wasn't a bad company .
They remained like this for another hour until the names were rolling on the screen. Isla hates to admit but the movie wasn't that bad.
" You wanna know?" Leo asked suddenly and Isla snapped her head towards him, confusion written on her face. " About the girl?" He added.
" Only if you want to." Isla Said.
" She was my ex girlfriend." Leo admitted as he kept his glance fixed at the TV screen. " I have known her since childhood. Her father and mine had been business partner. We met during a dinner when I was barely ten and since then we were kind of inseperable along with gabe."
Isla remained silent, letting Leo continue his story.
" We were young and kind of going through puberty and so we decided to explore. " He shifted uncomfortably on his seat. " It was just for sex at the beginning but we soon started having feelings for eachother. And so we started dating. " He turned to look at Isla who was already looking at him. " It was convenient, you know. We knew about all ours likes and dislikes. We clicked together or at least we did for couple of months. " He shrugged .
" Things got rough. We would usually have an argument about simplest things but still we tried to pull it off because we thought that we love eachother." A dry Chuckle left his lips." But it was just merely an attraction and attachment. It got too much at certain point and so we decided to break up with eachother."
Isla nodded at him as an encouragement to continue further.
" She went to Japan to pursue her modelling career and we decided to be friends. She came back recently after our marriage. She wants us to get back together." He chuckled again.
" And you don't?" Isla asked with a furrow of her brows.
Leo shrugged before answering. " Yeah. I am happy with the way things are. We weren't compatible anyway and honestly, I never saw eachother ending up together after our break up."
" So now it's kinda one way connection?"
" Yup. I am definitely not quitting my bachelor's life." Leo snorted.
" You are married, Mr Pattinson." Isla teased with a grin which Leo returned.
" I am well aware of that , Mrs Pattinson." He answered back. " But we haven't done anything," he paused as he shuffled and leaned closer to Isla, towering over her. His voice dropping, sounding more seductive. Isla gulped as her heart rate increased just by the proximity." that usually Married couples do" he leaned down to whisper next words into his wife's ear, lips brushing against Isla's ear lobe . She closed her eyes. " couples do at night." He completed, letting his breath fan on Isla's ear.
He felt Isla's breath shuttered and smirked before leaning back and sitting on his previous seat with a stupid grin as if he did nothing . He looked quite amused looking at Isla who looked mortified.
He chuckled before standing up with two empty take-out boxes and dumping them in the trash can with never leaving grin.
He glanced back at Isla who was looking down, her face gone red and he found those blushing cheeks cute.
