" What's does she think of herself? " Leo muttered out loud as he sat on the office chair. Papers were spread in front of him and yet he wasn't able to do any work. His mind was constantly busy with this girl who is now taking his nerve.
His hairs were in mess even though he had just arrived at the office . His suit coat was thrown on the sofa and top two buttons of his shirt were undone
" Sir." His secretary called out making Leo look at him from his papers ." Coffee." The secretary gestured towards the cup of black coffee in his hand. This was his third cup in one hour.
" Leave it on the table." Leo replied, dismissing the secretary rather quickly.
To be honest, Leo don't know what to do with his life anymore, should he let the girl work somewhere instead of completing her studies? Or should he instruct her to study as that is the option that will brighten the girl's future?
He pushed the glasses on his nose properly before resuming his work.
He is seriously fed up with all the worries. He is truly frustrated with all this drama. He is also frustrated with all this drama.
" Hey !" A sweet voice of a girl made the young boy look up yet again from his papers. A instant smile made its way on his face as he saw his childhood friend standing by the door.
" Sophia!" He said rather cheerfully." When did you come back from Japan?" He asked as he stood from his chair and with powerful strikes hugged the beautiful woman.
Sophia. Sophia Cooper, who was well known for her beauty. She has been Leo's friend since they where toddler and they had dated for few years during their college time but decided to remain friends as they can't see their future together. Well , you could say that Leo can't see their future together. Remember, he was never a fan of long Lasting relationship.
" I just arrived. And so I directly drive myself to your office." She said with a happy smile and a slight blush on her rosy cheeks.
Leo pulled back from the hug and held her by her shoulders, eyeing her in friendly manner.
" You haven't changed a bit." He commented with a soft chuckle.
This goofy and smiling version of Leo was not something you would see on normal day. This side of him is reserved just for exclusive people.
" I wasn't gone for too long, bunny." She said as Leo placed his hand on the Younger's waist , directing her to the sofa placed in the front of the wall that perfectly showcases the city.
" You were gone for 2 years." He commented. He pulled his phone out and dialled his secretary's number. " Mr . Taylor, please bring a Mocha coffee and bring me another cup of black coffee." He instructed on the phone before ending the call.
" You still remember by choices." She commented and Leo just chuckled at her.
" Ofcourse, I do. You would always drink the same drink again and again." Leo chuckled , his deep was like a music to the girl sitting beside him.
" You aren't any different." She said as she lightly smacked her friend's shoulder. " You still drink the awful drink." She added and giggled when the older rolled his eyes at her.
" Anyway." Leo said as turned his body to look at the green eyed girl. " How have you been?" He said, eyes crinkling with curiosity.
" Nothing special though. Just got the degree and came here." She simply said, dismissing the topic about her life. " My life is boring as always, tell me about your life." She said, as she wriggled her perfect brows at the man in front of her.
The knock was heard and Mr Taylor walked in with their drinks. He placed them on the coffee table in front of the sofa. Sophia gave him a tight smile, to which he reciprocated.
She watched as Leo's expression changed once he was asked about hisย life.
"Well?" She asked again as she leaned in and grabbed the glass of coffee and sipped it lightly. Albeit, in this procedure, she leaned a little too much, exposing her cleavage to Leo.
Although, Leo was oblivious to her tactics.
She examined how Leo's brows were hinged together as if he was conflicted to take words out of his mouth.
" I got married."
This words weren't something Sophia had ever imagined. It felt as if a knife is plunged into her heart. Everything seemed to Stop, nothing makes sense.
" Pardon?" She exclaimed, coffee now forgotten.
" I got married, Sophia." Leo said as he groaned and rubbed his face with both of his hands.
" I... But... How?" She asked voice now reduced to a whisper as her eyes go wide.
Leo turned to look at her before again letting his head fall on the sofa.
" It's a long story." He said with a sigh.
The look on Sophia's face was close to feral, as if she has lost everything even before getting it .
" I am not going anywhere until you tell me the main reason. You didn't even told me about this. Now that I came here you are suddenly announcing that you are married? How can you do this to me?" She asked as tears started to form in her green eyes .
Leo looked at her with a desperate expression.
" I am sorry for not letting you know but the situation was completely against me. Yet I should have told you sooner . I am a terrible friend." He said as he grabbed the woman's hand, silently caressing it.
Friend?
She don't wanna be just a friend. She never wanted them to just be friends. Yet here they are .
" Dad's bestfriend was on dying bed and her only wish was an assurance that her daughter live a healthy and happy life. Apparently, dad proposed a marriage proposal even before asking me. I was kind of thrown in the situation." He said honestly, face tired just the way he felt .
Sophia was beyond shocked, her eyes were blood red.
" Is that girl's mother dead?" She asked bluntly, with no emotion at all. Leo looked at her with confused face.
" Why are you being like this?" He asked, brows furrowed as he eyed the woman in front of him .
" If she is dead, why aren't you divorcing her?" She said her voice came out more louder for Leo's liking.
" I have promised to take care of her and beside , dad is behind my back all the time." He said.
" And so? You are just ruining your life by marrying someone who you barely knew!" She shouted and stood up , taking the purse she had placed on the sofa and swinging it on her arm.
Leo stood too as he watched Sophia ready to leave.
" I won't let you to ruin your life." She said and before Leo could say or do anything, she had already left the office.
It seems like Leo's life is not running out since he had married the stranger that goes with the name of Isla Pattinson.
