They drove to the place in a taxi, they got down paid their fare and made their way through the crowded hall. Stepping into the hall, there was noise everywhere that they could hardly hear what the musician was singing.
A huge dim blue disco ball light hung from the ceiling, making it have a blueish view. He wore a leather jacket and a leather trouser on his body, he braided his dreadlocks in a French braid making his face more visible and a pair of trainers on his feet to match the ensemble. There was something about this Rock star that attracted her to him, he was a man of his own--- an independent one who never hold a grudge against someone.
She wondered what it feels like to be loved by this man, to be held in his arms for what seemed like eternity but she knew it won't come to reality, it's just her own fantasy her own imaginations. "
Yeah Christian ifediegwu, ride on!." Fortune shouted audibly causing Jane to return to her senses.
Chris was stunned at the mention of his name, for the first time in his life a fan knew his real name. He was impressed and that was a female voice that called out. He wondered who's the woman that knew his full names, her voice wasn't familiar but he wondered why she called him by his real name not his stage name.
He stared out in the dim blue coloured crowd, everyone cheering for him, he thought of that one woman who wanted to see him perform on stage. The one woman who encouraged him to pursue his dreams but she was no where to be seen. And he was performing at her place with the hope to see her. He wanted to see and thank her for her full support when he was still an upcoming star.
Jane thought she should get out of here immediately, she wasn't here, she wasn't herself at all here. Her heart doesn't accept to see Chris ifediegwu. This guy had ignored her so much in the past and remembering that seemed to taut her now, she turned to her sister.
"Let's get out of here now?." She demanded feeling disgusted with herself.
"Why?." Fortune asked, surprise at the sudden change of behaviour.
"Let's get out of here." She said and dragged her sister by the arm and led her out of the hall.
" But sis, the song is still going on. Fortune replied pointing back at the hall.
"Fortune!." Jane warned with a non argument look on her face. Fortune was surprise at the behaviour of her sister, what happened? What made her react in such manner?.
Fortune with anger let go of her sister's grip on her arm and fled towards the hall.
"Fortune come back here?." She demanded behind her sister, her body burning with fury, she felt like ripping her sister apart if she lay hands on her.
"Come back here!." She demanded once more
"No".
Jane never met a stubborn girl like fortune, she made up her mind to go after her. She made her way back to the hall increasing her pace into run, she was unaware of the darkness that had enveloped the day as she ran, suddenly she twisted her ankle on her way making her to collide with the person coming towards her.
The guy fell on his back while Jane fell against his hard body and his arms came circling her back and he shuddered in pain as the weight of her body pressed hard against his.
The fans and everyone gasp in shock, she wondered who is this guy that she can't see his face in the defeating darkness, suddenly the compound lights were switched on giving the compound an illuminating glow.
Jane gasped at the face of the guy she'd fallen upon, fortune was shock to see her sister fall on the Rock star himself her long time friend.
Chris stared at her in shock, is this Jane the woman he wanted to see? Was she for real? Did she know he was performing here?. He had so many questions going on his mind.
She was speechless, this very man she wanted to stay away from was the very one she landed upon. Seeing his face now brought back the feelings she tried to forget, the hurt she went through in his hand.
Somehow she liked the feeling being on top of him, he is so handsome in reality than in pictures and TV but somewhere inside of her she felt disgust.
She stared into his brownish eyes and saw questions. Questions she didn't know where it came from, she can't believe she actually fell for this guy.
Chris locked his eyes with hers, there he saw hurt and wondered why it was there. She might not be his type but there was something about her that attracted him to her, she's just a plain person no wonder her mama named her Jane 'cause she is a plain and easygoing woman.
Some fans gasped with their hands akimbo, one of the female fans interrupted their thoughts.
"Aren't you getting off him?. The fan demanded.
Jane realized she was still on top of him and she quickly climbed off him.
"I'm sorry." She apologized. "I didn't mean to--------."
He cuts her short. "It's okay, I'm fine".
She shot him a look and something in her told her that he doesn't need her apology. He was still staring at her with those brownish deceiving eyes of his, and that sent shivers into her spine.
She had just embarrassed herself in front of everyone including him Chris, she felt like digging a hole right here and now and bury her goddamn self in it away from the prying, questioning and gritting eyes of the fans.
"Did you basically fall on him to get his attention?." Another female fan voice asked.
"No,I didn't--------I'm so------rry." She stuttered and stumbled back from where Chris and the fans stood bowing her head as if bowing or saluting a police officer.
She made a u turn to get out of her there as quickly as she can and she didn't care if her sister followed her. She never wanted to come to this place in the first place. It was her sister idea to go and she sheepishly followed her, now look at the trouble she'd gotten herself into.
"And where do you think you're going to?." The same female fan asked as she stopped Jane by standing in her way.
Jane looked at her, she just couldn't know where to classify her the female fan. She had dark streaks of hair, pointed nose, smoky eyes and nearly dark lips to fit in the ensemble.
"Emm-----nowhere." She answered simply. "Just get out of ma damn way!." Her inner voice wanted to screamed out but she held the words back from spilling out of her mouth.
