Meanwhile...
"Father!" a little girl came running to Nicholas. "Mother is bullying me!"
Nicholas bent down and patted her head. "What did you do again?"
"I was just playing when mother suddenly—"
"It's because of the mess she didn't clean up." Adeline folded her arms. "Don't make up stories, Evelyn."
"Adele, maybe you shouldn't be too harsh on her." Nicholas patted her back. "She's just a child."
"She needs to learn to be independent. You're just spoiling her, Nic."
"I don't think it's—"
"Come here." Adeline looked at Evelyn.
Evelyn moved back. "Why?"
"Just do it."
"Are you gonna slap me?"
"No."
"Promise?"
Adeline nodded. "I just need to tell you something."
"Can't you say it from there?"
"Do it before I lose my temper."
Evelyn went closer. "W-What is it, m-mom...?"
Adeline took a deep breath before letting out a fake smile. "D-Don't do it again alright?" she clenched her jaw. "You've done this more than a hundred times and I'm sick of it."
Evelyn nodded. "Why do you s-seem like you're gonna hit me...?"
Adeline stood up. "I'm getting angry at you because I'm disciplining you, so I hope you understand alright?"
"Yes, mother..."
"Go to the kitchen and clean your mess now."
Evelyn sighed, "But I—"
"Are you refusing me?"
"No, mother..." Evelyn walked towards the kitchen. "I'm doing it."
As Adeline watched Evelyn clean her mess, Nicholas abruptly grabbed her wrist before pulling her towards the master's bedroom.
Nicholas looked the door. "Leave her alone."
"Why?" Adeline put her hands on her waist. "Let me out. I need to watch over her."
"Relax, you don't need to do that."
"Let me—"
Just as Adeline was about to unlock the door, Nicholas suddenly carried her by the waist and brought her to the bed before kissing her lips.
"Nic!" Adeline wiped her lips. "I really need to go and check on her."
"Why did you wipe it?" Nicholas glared at her.
"What?"
"My kiss."
"I didn't."
"You did!"
"Well...sorry... I just wasn't—"
"Do you want me to keep doing it so that you'll be comfortable then?" Nicholas grabbed her arms and placed it on top of her head.
Adeline bursted into laughter. "This doesn't work on me anymore."
"You think so?" Nicholas smirked before lowering his head and kissing her full on the lips. As soon as Adeline felt his soft lips on hers, she started responding to the kiss, closing her eyes.
"Happy now?" Adeline cupped his face. "You still haven't changed."
"Not yet."
"Well that's you're problem then."
Nicholas sat up and wrapped his arms around her waist. "I want more."
"I've given you what you want. Can I go now?"
Nicholas shook his head. "Not until you kiss me again."
Adeline rolled her eyes. "Oh please."
"Come on, I need energy."
"For what?"
"Work."
"Kiss yourself then." Adeline giggled. "Just put your lips together and—"
Nicholas kissed her forehead. "Fine, I'll let you go."
Adeline stood up. "Do you want anything for dinner?"
"You."
"Pshh!"
"Not kidding."
"I meant food."
"I know."
"Then what?"
Nicholas grabbed her wrist and pulled her back into the bed. "I told you that I want you for dinner."
Adeline placed a pillow between them. "No, you can't."
"Why not?"
"It's because I belong to—"
"Mom!" Evelyn came knocking on the door. "I'm done!"
"Okay!" Nicholas covered Adeline's mouth and shouted. "You're mother isn't feeling well so behave okay?"
"Yeah," Evelyn responded.
"You!" Adeline whispered. "How could you lie to her?"
"As if she doesn't do that to us."
"It was a white lie anyway."
"I'm going out. I need to—"
"You're not going anywhere."
"Why again?"
"Like I've always said, Adele...you're mine today, now and forever." Nicholas smirked before pulling the blanket over them. "Keep in mind that I don't share."
