"G-Give me a chance..." Nicholas held her hand.
"You know my answer to that," Adeline sighed.
"Then why did you give Erick a—"
"It's because he was different okay?" Adeline rolled her eyes. "He's a lot better than you... He was everything I needed..."
"You're comparing a CEO like me to a homeless man?"
"You think your occupations matter to me? He treated me well, Nic. He treats me like—"
"Have I not?"
"You never did...cause all you did back then was wasting your time on a woman who doesn't even—"
"I love you." Nicholas blushed. "I don't want to bring up the past, so please stop mentioning her."
"You have no idea how much I suffered because of you, but don't worry...I never blamed you, Nic."
"Stop acting like you don't care. I know everything, Adele... Jacob told me..."
"What?" Adeline's eyes widened. "You believe him?"
"I don't think he'd lie to me about such things." Nicholas smirked. "Molly was the one who actually advised him to do so."
"S-Stay away from them!"
"What's with you? They're not only your friends."
"I said I don't wanna talk about it!" Adeline covered her ears. "I-I can't like you!"
"Just because you're afraid to get hurt again?"
Adeline closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Let's get going."
"Answer me."
"I don't like you. That's it."
"S-Stop lying!"
"Yes, I do have feelings for you...but like I said, I don't want to be in a relationship."
"I'll wait." Nicholas smiled.
"That's what Erick said." Adeline rolled her eyes. "B-But he never did."
"And you see me the same?"
"Do whatever you want. I—"
"Aren't you tired?" Nicholas gripped the steering wheel. "Tired of having to suffer the same thing again?"
"I'm used to it." Adeline leaned back on her chair. "I'm used to getting hurt by my loved ones. It's nothing to me now as my feelings are fading away, Nic."
Meanwhile...
(At an unknown place)
"You have something to do with the accident don't you?" Ella folded her arms as she stared at the man sitting in front of her. "You're making people put the blame on me."
"Well what if I tell you I was the one driving that truck?" the man smiled.
"Is that how much you're eager to kill Adele? You killed an innocent man!"
"His life doesn't matter. He doesn't have anyone to side with him anyway."
"I never told you to—"
"Why are you acting as if you're the boss here?" the man folded his arms. "Want me to teach you a lesson?" the man brought his face closer, wrapping his hands around her waist.
"We never talked about killing Adeline!"
"Are you questioning my decisions?"
Ella pushed him away. "I never knew you were this ev—"
"I always was, but now that I have you, I don't think I'd be able to control myself anymore."
"I'm not staying with you because I want to." Ella clenched her fist. "Keep that in mind."
"Why are you feeling guilty now? Didn't you say that you wanted Adele dead?" the man smirked.
"Y-You know that I-I killed Beatrice... I can't do that to her—"
"If you're worrying about getting caught, leave it to me."
"That's not my point. I-I think we shouldn't do this."
"We've come so far and you're backing out now? All our efforts will come to waste if you keep slacking off!"
"Then do it yourself then. I don't wanna get involved."
"That's not what we planned, Ella." the man sat down. "We kill her together."
"I never agreed on that. Don't think that you can fool me."
"Well if you don't do it, you know the consequences of your actions already."
