Several days after Adeline got back from the resort, she decided to talk with Molly, hoping that she'd open up about the incident with Jacob.
"We're in the dorm now and Abigail's out with her high school friends." Adeline handed her a piece of tissue. "If you need someone to talk to, I'm always here."
Molly hugged her knees. "He told you didn't he?"
"Don't blame him. I was the one that—"
"I never said I would. It wasn't wrong for him to tell you."
"I heard that he even confessed to you. Do you plan on giving him a chance?"
Molly looked at the ceiling. "I'm indecisive."
"His feelings are sincere." Adeline handed her a cup of water. "He might be the one you're looking for. You'll never know."
"I don't see him in that way, yet he tells me to save my answer till graduation."
"Feelings can change, Molly. He's been in love with you for quite a long time."
"How-How did you k-know?"
"He stares at you everyday and even follows you secretly back to the dorm just to be sure that you're safe."
"Why would he even do that? Doesn't he know that he's just wasting his time on me?"
Adeline took a deep breath. "How about my feelings for Nicholas then? Am I also just being a fool to waste my time on him?"
Molly held her arm. "Adele, that's not what I—"
"You and Abigail were right about Nicholas, but Jacob's different. He'll do everything he can to make you his."
"Th-Then why didn't you do that to Nicholas?"
"There's no point in doing so. He's in love with someone else."
"You were in love with him for years. You had a lot of opportunities to express your feelings."
Adeline sighed, "How I wish love would be that easy, but Nicholas and I just aren't meant to be."
Molly's eyes widened. "Are you just telling me that you accept the fact that he will love only one girl for the rest of his life?"
"I'll still love him, even if he isn't mine. There's no problem with that right?"
"W-Why would you do that...?"
"That's why treasure your time with him, Molly. Don't be like me." Adeline stood up. "I made a mistake, now I'm living with the consequences. If only I could just turn back time..."
"I don't want to give Jacob hope. It'll just hurt him more in the end."
"Why do you think he had the audacity to confess his feelings right away?" Adeline wrapped her arm around her shoulder. "It's because he knows that he'll be able to win you over."
"Who said that I would fall for him?" Molly looked away, hiding her red cheeks.
"Give him till the end of senior year. You'll surely be his by then."
Meanwhile...
(In the boy's dorm)
"Why are you just telling me this now?" Nicholas folded his arms.
"It's because Peter's not here." Jacob lowered his gaze. "He'll just laugh at me."
"Have you informed Adeline about this?"
Jacob nodded, his ears turning red. "Do yo-you think that I'd be able to win Molly's heart?"
"Depends on how you pursue her."
"Well how did Ella come to like you?"
"Simple answer." Nicholas smirked. "We've liked each other from the beginning."
Jacob squinted. "I'm asking how you courted her."
"I didn't. I just confessed and waited for her answer, but in your case, you still have a long way to go."
"Do you think that I should just wait for her answer? Or should I continue pursuing her?"
"I don't think that it would be easy to win her heart with that childish attitude of yours."
"I don't need discouragement, Nic. I do need your help."
"Why don't you ask Adele then?" Nicholas sat down and opened his laptop. "She knows what to do."
"I need an opinion from you too." Jacob glared. "Senior year's starting tomorrow. H-How should I face her?"
"Just get things straight. Show her that your avid about it."
