Chapter 16 - It Was Our First

(Present time)

"I-I remember it all now..." Molly covered her face with her hands.

"So... So do I," Jacob stammered, "As far as I can remember, you were the one who initiated it."

"I'm positive that Adele and the others already know that we slept in the same room."

"Why? Plan to deny it?"

"Although we can't hide the fact that we slept in the same bed, we can just lie that nothing happened. The thing that happened last night, let's forget it."

"H-Hey, I have a-a question," Jacob stuttered in embarrassment, "W-Was that your first?"

Molly bowed her head to hide her rosy red cheeks. "Yes, it was. How about you...?"

Jacob covered his mouth and looked away. "It-It was my first too."

"Well, there's nothing we can do about it. We're both at fault."

"I'm sorry. If only I was conscious at that time, I would've stop you."

"Don't be. I'd rather spend the night with you than with other men I don't trust."

Jacob blushed. "Do you even know what you're saying?"

"Even though all this was just a mistake, my heart's still filled with remorse and shame," she said, with tears rolling down her cheeks, crying. "I wanted to save it for the person I'd be spending the rest of my life with, but what can I do? We've done it already..."

"I understand how you feel, but I don't regret anything."

"Are you insane? What about your future girlfriend then? Won't she get hurt when she—"

"Why would I need to worry about that? I've already got her."

"You..."

Jacob grabbed her wrist. "I want you to see me as a man."

Molly bursted into laughter. "Don't joke around! How could you fall for such a fool like me?"

"I know that this isn't the right time to say this, but give me a change to win your heart, Molly."

"When-When did you start feeling this way...?"

"Does it matter?"

"Look, I actually—"

"Don't give me your answer now. I'm willing to wait." Jacob covered her mouth.

"What if I still say no then?" Molly folded her arms.

"It doesn't matter. I'll keep coming back. I'll wait."

Later on, as Jacob looked at the blue sky dotted with fluffy white clouds that drifted lazily in the gentle breeze, he decided to tell Adeline about what happened between him and Molly.

"You guys what? Really?" Adeline exclaimed.

Jacob looked around. "Shh! We were supposed to keep this a secret, but I think you deserve to know," he said, covering her mouth.

"Well, you confessed at the wrong time. She's probably crying in my room now."

"Umm... Speaking of that, I don't a-actually remember if the c-condom—"

"That could get her pregnant you fool! Her parents will kill you!"

Jacob started walking around in circles. "Then what should I d-do? Should we just tell her to abort the baby if ever she did get pregnant...?" He scratched his head, waiting for a response.

Adeline took a deep breath. "That baby is innocent! Why would she abort it?"

"Let's just hope that she to-took it last n-night."

"How did you guys even get into Ella's room?"

"I accidentally got the wrong key card..."

Adeline bursted into laughter as she patted his back. "Don't worry. She'll let it go soon."

"What would she think of me now?" Jacob covered his face with a pillow. "I just wasn't able hold it back anymore."

"Maybe she just needs—"

RING! RING!

The telephone beside Jacob's bed abruptly rang.

"I'll get it. It's probably room service." Jacob stood up.

"I'll be heading out first." Adeline waved goodbye.

When Adeline went out, he picked up the receiver and waited for the caller to speak. The familiar silence then ran through the wire as he his heart started palpitating.

"Hello? We didn't request for room service." Jacob palms sweated.

"It's nice hearing your voice again, Jacob," a familiar voice replied.
