I froze with my fingers barely grazing the fruit.
"Is it poisonous?"
"No, anyone that was not born of the underworld gets trapped here forever if they eat the food here," Hades explained with a melancholy look on his face, "There are ways around it but never a permanent one."
I felt bad because whatever I do, I bring up bad memories for him. Thanatos left and came back with some different foods.
"These can fresh from the above world! Safe for mortal consuming."
Staying down here was relaxing even though it was mostly empty. Thanatos would leave at times to fight the spirits. He told me that after he defeats them, they get sent to a special spot that they could never escape from. Despite Hades acting nice to me, he would leave me alone whenever Thanatos leaves. It was always lonely whenever he disappears but I was able to explore.
