Chapter 42 - Over The Top Heist

"Chloe, I know what we're going to do today!"

Chloe looked at Myr quizzically, only to see Myr with one of her signature shit eating grins, which told her immediately that whatever Myr was planning, was invariably going to ruin someone's day.

Grinning herself, Chloe asked "Oh? Please do tell. If we're going to ruin someone's day then count me in."

Myr gave an evil chuckle. "You see Chloe, I keep getting reports of tens of thousands of slaves in the Iron Mountain. I sent a drone in, and sure enough, there are indeed tens of thousands. I hate slavery, so, I'm thinking we should pull off a heist."

Chloe burst out laughing and hugged Myr. "That's both caring and evil at the same time, I love it! Who're we going to bring?"

Myr instantly replied "Tenshi, Nox, my elite squad, some demo experts, snipers, infantry, and an absurd amount of explosives. We'll also have portal shock troopers to open portals to Nekopara, where I'll have even more medics, doctors, and surgeons to help them. Chloe, we're going to pull this off, and piss off so many people. I can already see their wonderful gazes of shock and anger as we steal their slaves and set them free."

Chloe chuckled and rubbed Myr's ears. "You're quite the evil one today, but I like it. I'll go explain the situation to Tenshi and Nox, you just get the rest ready."

Kissing each other goodbye, Myr teleports to Nekopara calls up her elite squad, the Hunters.

Teleporting in front of her, they all knelt as Ace, the leader of the bunch, asked "What can we assist you with Boss?"

Myr crossed her left leg over her right as she took a sip of juice.

"I have a job for you fine folks, a dirty job. It's a rescue mission, but your job will be to kill any interference. That means anyone who brandishes a weapon against us, you put a bullet in their brain. I'm sure you're aware of my hatred for slavery, right? Well we'll be pulling off quite a big heist. Once again, you'll be killing anyone who interferes with us. Hunt them down, and kill them. Once we've extracted the slaves, you'll fall back to the meet up point directly 10km south of the Iron Mountain. Be careful though, because unlike those goblins, dwarven magic and their strength, along with their weapons and armor could be a pain, so I'm granting you access to any sort of equipment you'll need. No friendly fire, no innocent lives lost, we're aiming for a messy in and out mission, am I clear?"

""""YES BOSS!""""

Myr smiled. "Excellent. Well then, prepare yourselves, this is going to get messy."

========

In Loki's mansion...

"Hey Loki-sama, what do you think Myr is doing today?"

Loki looks up from her paper and chuckles. "Whatever it is, it's probably not good for someone's mental and/or physical health."

Anakitty chuckles as well. "Myr-sama really does know how to ruin peoples' day, doesn't she? Did she get that from you, like because she is your adopted daughter?"

Loki nearly chokes on her water she was drinking. Wiping her mouth off, Loki looks at Anakitty and simply says "She got some of it from me, no doubt about that, but a lot of it stems from her being immature. Now, because she's an insanely powerful goddess, her immaturity has to be kept in check by Chloe, which she's doing a fantastic job of so far, I'm sure of it."

========

"Alright soldiers, everyone ready? Then let's hit it!"

*BOOOOOOOM*

An explosion that shook the very ground beneath them blasted open a giant portion of the wall surrounding the Iron Mountain as gunfire started to sound as any resisting dwarven soldiers were being mowed down.

Magic started being casted by the dwarven mages. Taking fire, Myr's soldiers turtled up behind void barriers that Myr had erected that moved forwards as the soldier's did.

While the soldiers were distracting the majority of the dwarves, Myr, Chloe, Tenshi, Nox, and the Hunters had infiltrated the first hill, deep underground, in their mission to extract the slaves.

Smiles slit the throat of 4 guards who were posted up by a reinforced door. Flagging down her boss, Myr cut open the door, pulled it off, and found a group of 30 female slaves, all naked and chained to the wall. A few of them were pregnant, which pissed everyone off.

Myr called in her first set of shock troopers to extract the slaves. After that was done, they moved from room to room, clearing out any guards and saving the slaves that were imprisoned there.

Moving down, Myr and the others spit off, with one Hunter going separate ways and with the authority to call in Myr's shock troopers, while Chloe went with Tenshi and Nox, and Myr went by herself.

Along the way, Myr decided to have some fun. Making herself two of the special hatchets that the Hunters use, Myr kicked down a door that had 8 guards guarding a group of 40 female slaves.

Dashing over, Myr throws both of her hatchets at 1 dwarf each, and upon being embedded in their skulls, vaults off of the ground, grabs both of the hatchets, and twirls around and slits the throats of 4 more guards, the last two she tripped, did a front flip, and cleanly slice off their heads as they tried to get back up.

Calling some shock troopers in, Myr leaves for the next room. Room after room was cleared, and in a matter of 4 hours, over 30,000 slaves were saved, male and female.

Myr, Chloe, Tenshi, Nox, and the Hunters all gathered around the last group of slaves that Myr could detect.

"Alright crew, I'm sensing over 100 guards in this room. I want all of them dead in under a minute. Ready, GO!"

Kicking down the door, Myr and company storm in, with the Hunters using their guns, Chloe, Tenshi, and Nox freed the slaves, while Myr took on half of the guards by herself.

"Why are you doing this to us?! What did the Iron Hills do to offend you!" one dwarf shouted.

Myr sneered and said "I'm doing this to help those who can't help themselves. Slavery is an evil social construct, and one that I always deal with using violence. A dead slaver is one less slaver in the world, and that's good enough for me to kill. Anyone who stands by a slaver's side and doesn't do anything is just as guilty as the slave him/herself."

All of a sudden, a booming voice was heard coming from a door near the back of the room.

"If you wanted us to release our slaves then all you needed to do was ask! Why must you resort to violence? Why must you kill off my people, my kin? They've done nothing wrong, yet you took their lives like you own them!"

Myr snorted. "I killed them because they were helping a play a big role in the defense of a nation that involved slavery. Holding another sentient being against their will while abusing them, raping them, and torturing them is one of the worst crimes I can think of, and I know, because of my own past which you aren't privy to knowing about."

The King of the Iron Mountain grit his teeth and growled out "You are a goddess, a divine being. You have no right to meddle in affairs that aren't you own!"

Myr dryly laughed. "I have every right to meddle in this. I see beings, people, that remind me of my past self. Lifeless eyes, bruises, cuts, scrapes, malnourished, raped, I know what all of those traits feel like. I have every right to set them free, and anyone who stops me, well, they get the axe. I might be a bit hypocritical, I might seem like an evil being, and I'm willing to bare the burden of such traits if it means I can help people life their life how they want to! YOU have no right to hold them against their will. I don't give a rat's ass if slavery is considered okay, now that I'm on this planet, it's gonna die off really quickly. I'll soak the ground in blood to free them, even if it's you, a worthless king that can't do anything to help anyone but his own people."

The king grit his teeth again and asked "Then what do you want me to do to make you leave our home. What must I do to prove that we'll free all of our slaves, whether captured or bought?"

Myr smiled a smile so cold, that it gave even the battle hardened king a shiver down his spine.

Holding up a knife, Myr grinned while saying "Cut off your right hand and right foot with this knife. I then want you to gouge out your right eye. You have a thing for rights? Well let me take them away from you."

The soldiers became enraged when they heard Myr, and a few even tried to strike her, only to be gunned down by the Hunters.

Looking at the dead soldiers, Myr's smile vanished and was replaced with a frown. "I gave you a way out that didn't involve any more bloodshed. I only give chances like that once. Consider this a hostile takeover, you MAJESTY."

With that, Myr took out a hand cannon and blew the king's head clean off his body, though it would be more appropriate to say it got vaporized.

Myr nodded to her Hunters, and not a moment later, all of the soldiers were gunned down, and the slaves ushered into the portals that the shock troopers use.

Kicking open the door that the king came out of, Myr saw what she presumed to be his wife, his two daughters, and a son. The son of the king was holding a short sword and ran at Myr while screaming a very adorable war cry.

Myr simply smirked and let the sword hit her body, and when it did, the kid ended up dropping the sword and holding his hand due to the painful numbing that ran through it.

Myr picked him up by the neck of his shirt and carried him over to where his mother and two sisters were. The kids' mother looked scared, very scared, but also had a glint of determination in her eyes, which Myr could appreciate.

Setting the son down, Myr took out an ornate looking katana that was 7 suns long, and handed it to the son, who took it while looking at Myr warily.

Clearing her throat, Myr said "Your father is dead kid. I killed him, he's not coming back a hero. You'll have to enter the political life when you become of age. I'm sorry for taking him from you, but he allowed too many bad things to happen under his watch, horrible deeds that would make anyone lose faith in the society that you live in. That sword I just gave you will give you a big boost in power, though it's also a curse. Should you stray along the path that your father took, your heart will be crushed. The sword is already bound to you, so don't even think of trying to get rid of it. I hope you make the right choices in the future, because I don't want to have to visit this place again."

Looking at the kids' mother, Myr smiled. "You're very afraid right now, but more than that, you have a fire in your eyes that tells me you'll give your life trying to protect your children. That's good, I'd expect nothing less from a mother. Raise them well, and keep in mind, that I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty. Make sure slavery is never a thing here again, and if you find out anyone is keeping any against their will, then I want them put to death. Slavery is taking away someone's freedom, taking away their rights, and is worse than outright killing them. Remember these words of mine, because your life, your kids' lives, and the lives of your people depend on it."

Looking at the two daughters of the mother, Myr gave them a warm smile, snapped her fingers, and two beautiful dresses appeared on them, replacing their clothes.

"In time, you'll understand why I did this, once you see the horrors that your father let happen under his watch that he did nothing about, and once you can understand the implications of them, you'll realize why I did what I did. For now, accept those dresses. They may look pretty, but while you're wearing them, it'll take at least a peak level 7 adventurer to cut through them. They'll also act as a beacon for your mother to let her know exactly where you are. They'll grow with you as you get older."

Walking away, Myr turns around halfway and holds up a single pointer finger. "Remember, 1 chance, and 1 chance only."

With that, she teleports away, leaving the royal family to come to terms with what had happened. Little did Myr know that in the future, when the former king's song took the throne, by that time, he understood why Myr did what she did, and although he still resented her a little bit, as did his mother and two sisters, they all held a deep respect for her dedication and lengths she was willing to go to ensure slavery wasn't a part of anyone's lives anymore. He would usher a new era for the dwarven race, one that would bring so much wealth to them that they wouldn't know what to do with it all, while his two sisters grew up to be beauties, ones that would catch the eye of any man walking past them, though that's a story for a different time.

========

Withdrawing her soldiers, Myr waved her hand and erected a mass gravesite, with one casket for each fallen dwarf, with intricately designed tombstones. Though she felt bad doing what she did, it was only for a moment when she remembered that she had saved far more lives than she was responsible for taking. Though it didn't make it right, she knew that there would have been no other way to go about this, none that wouldn't involve at least a handful of deaths.

Teleporting back to her mansion, Myr headed to the command post and asked "Alright, what's our supplies looking like? How many more bullets and rounds do I need to make and how many sets of armor do I have to repair?"

A female intelligence officer saluted her. "Ma'am, the soldiers spent exactly 13,403 bullets, and only 56 sets of armor need repairs. There were no casualties, except for one."

Myr had a bad feeling like she knew who it was, but she decided to ask anyways. "Who exactly got hurt and how?"

The female officer looked over her papers and gulped. "It appears Ma'am, that a soldier named "Leeroy Jenkins" managed to convince a mech unit solder to lend him his mech, and charged directly into the line of fire. It was one of your experimental ones, and it worked like a charm, all except for the shock systems which somehow gave out. He jumped off of a falling building and knocked himself unconscious upon landing, though neither he nor the mech suffered any external damage. He managed to rack up quite the body count though. 213 enemies killed, and no innocent lives lost due to him. It should also be mentioned that he saved 40 dwarven children from a falling building after a stray spell destroyed the support beams holding it up. What should we do since he broke the rules about manning experimental equipment without authorization?"

Myr sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose and said "Leave him be, don't issue any punishments. Tell him to meet me in my office, I want to see how badly he's dinged up for myself, and I want to ask him how the hell he even learned how to pilot it. From my understanding, he's a general infantry soldier, not a pilot."

The officer nodded and punched in a few numbers on her phone and called the medical wing in Nekopara to have Leeroy sent over to see Myr.

Sitting in her office, Myr sees a flash of light, and sure enough, Leeroy had a bandage wrapped around his head and a slightly woozy look on his face.

"Evenin' Boss! How ya' doin'?"

Myr sighed and gestured for Leeroy to take a seat, which he did. Once he sat down, Myr looked him in the eyes and asked "Private First Class Leeroy Jenkins, how the hell did you manage to pilot the mech that you didn't have prior authorization to use?"

Leeroy scratched his head and finally said "Well, I saw the thing and I thought "Well that looks cool, I wanna try it!", so I asked the pilot an' he said I could if I even knew how to pilot the thing. I didn' wanna lose any face, so I hopped right on in there and powered it up. It felt like I was in another larger me, only made of metal. I just kinda walked around in it at first, then ran, then I wen' to the firin' range and shot a few rounds ta' get the hang of it. Took me 'bout 5 minutes to get er' down, and once I did, I used that there teleport machine to send me to the front lines. I did lottsa crazy stuff in there Boss, it was so much fun! Hol' on a minute, I ain't in trouble, am I?"

Myr pinched the bridge of her nose and downed her juice in one pull and looked him in the eyes and bluntly said "No, you're not in trouble. As a matter of fact, I'm putting you in the pilot crew. You'll be getting the same mech, and I'll be allotting you all the money you need to customize it however you want, just nothing obscene."

Leeroy looked thrilled to say the least. Jumping up, he quickly grabbed Myr's hand and shook it and said "Thanks a bunch Boss! I promise I won' let ya' down!" and promptly teleported back to Nekopara, where the medics were arguing if Leeroy was mentally damaged because of the accident, or if Myr had somehow erred when she created him. Not even Myr was sure how Leeroy got to be like he was, but while she kept getting reports of a certain soldier running around the hospital shouting "I got myself a promotion!" and disturbing the other workers that were stationed there, she couldn't help but appreciate what her Mom and her family has to put up with on a weekly basis.
