Chapter 3 - Chapter Three

Liv's POV

Lunch with d!ckhead, could today get any worse??

I went to seat with my friends at our usual table. Even if I was going to have lunch With d!ckhead, I was gonna sit with my friends.

I ordered a plate of Tomato and lettuce salad. "Here you go"

"Thanks Ms Vee"

"Anything for my Olive"

"You know it" I say flashing her a smile

That was Vivian, the lunch lady. We're friends. And being friends with her comes with certain perks. Apart from a good mutual friendship, I get the Cleanest food. Good thing she knows I'm a Veggie.

"Your relationship with the lunch lady is weird" A voice said suddenly

"Whoa, it's not weird, I still get the cleanest food in the Cafeteria"

"Wow, that was a clean convo, you didn't call me d!ckhead" I turned around to see who I was talking to. I immediately stopped smiling while he just showed an amused expression on his face.

"I should've known. My very own d!ck-stalker strikes again. I saw your note by the way and I am so not calling you"

"That's what they all say" By the time he said that we already reached the table.

Back up. We?

Ugh, he was still following me.

I sat down beside West and he made way right between us and sat down. "Uhm first, what are you doing here?? And second, ever heard of personal space? " I hissed, already irritated

"Yeah, what are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be with your pose? Or trying to shag a girl in some corner? Or am I mistaken?" West snarled making Cece snap out of her texting frenzy to look up as she immediately noticed d!ckhead's presence.

"Whoa, what did I miss?"

"Not much. Your bestie and I have to spend every minute of lunch together for our Biology project and Mr Overprotective here, isn't liking any bit of this" D!ckhead said with a smug smile on his face.

"So, a lot" Cece summed up "Drama, am I right?" South Whooped

"Holla" Cece said liking the drama

I rolled my eyes and started subconsciously fiddling with my salad.

"So, Cupcake I never really got to know your name and I don't think you know mine" D!ckhead said breaking the awkward silence.

"Yeah, I'm not telling you that and I already know your name, Doofus McD!ckhead, right?"

I said snarlingly and West chuckled

"If you don't tell me, I'll find out myself along with some embarrassing secrets. So ya really want me to go down that road? "

"Fine" I sighed glancing over to see Cece and South watching us converse with Curious eyes.

"Well, tell him" South said while Cece stood up saying she'd be right back.

I rolled my eyes.

"Liv" I said flatly. Cece got back with Popcorn and plopped on her seat.

"So, have they kissed yet?" She said with mouthful of Popcorn.

The hell?

"Nah, not yet. Drew's flirting and Liv is just well..Liv" South said with a bored expression on her face

"I know right, Weird"

"Oh I'm sorry, am I boring you?" I said feigning concern.

"Nice name. Your parents did one hell of a job, naming you and creating you." he said with a wink.

"I bet you tell every girl that, just to get in their pants"

"Actually I don't. I have different lines for different chicks. I just gave you the one for the feisties. Which happens to be my type " he said with a smirk and a wink

I rolled my eyes. I picked up my phone and checked my texts. I still hadn't checked the unknown text. Immediately I read it, I got pissed off.

"Now this is getting interesting"

I dropped my fork on the table abruptly, being pissed off totally. Apparently startling everyone.

"Can we just talk about biology and get the stupid project over with?"

"Neh"

I stood up heading towards the door as d!ckhead pulled me back.

"And where do you think you're going?

"And how is that any of your business?"

"I'm coming with you"

I groaned in annoyance. "I jinxed it" I muttered

I picked up my bag, my salad and then headed for the bin, throwing the lunch away.

"Jinxed what?" Drew said clearly confused.

"Never mind"

He nodded.

We both left the cafeteria and signed out and then I was headed to the pedestrian walk and then he pulled me back. Again.

"What?" I hissed

"Are we seriously going on foot?"

"I don't know about 'we' but I'm walking." He shook his head. "Nope, 'we' are not walking 'we' are taking my car and 'we' are going to the park. Got it?"

"Do I have a choice?"

He led me to his car. A black Ferrari. Typical rich kid.

For some reason, his features started appealing to me, making me realise how good looking he was. He was wearing a wine T-shirt and black torn jeans with a Silver chain. Silver hand accessories and a watch that looked like a Rolex on his wrists. He was also wearing brown boots.

Man, was he hot.

Unfortunately he noticed me checking him out. "Checking me out now, are we?" he said with a smirk.

You bet I was checking him out all right. Why wouldn't I.

I blushed like an idiot, being caught red handed

"You caught me. Couldn't take my eyes off the ugliest creature I've ever seen" I lied smoothly. If rapture came I would have gone to hell right there and now for being the worst liar ever. "Keep saying it till ya believe it"

"Well the truth is bitter"

"Glad you agreed to join me"

"Yeah whatever, pretty sure you just wanna get into my pants"

"While that may be true, what's got you so pissed?" He asked curiously while sliding into the drivers seat and buckling his seat belt.

"How do you know I'm pissed off? You don't even know me. How do you know if I'm pissed or not? How do you know that this isn't my normal nature, hunh? Hunh?" I exploded. His eyes widening at my tone. I sighed. "Sorry"

"It's okay, I was prying"

"It's just,"

"You don't have to tell me"

"No, telling someone would help"

"Thanks"

We reached the park in comfortable silence. I actually felt comfortable with d!ckhead.... No Drew.

Drew got out the car and was waiting for me to come out. Me still lost in thought, didn't hear him.

"Hey, Cupcake? Cupcake? Helloo? Liv?"

"Hunh? Yeah, what?"

"Nothing, just that we've been at the park for ten minutes now and you don't seem to wanna come out"

I got out with a smile

"Ooh, looks like my charms started working a lot earlier and faster than I expected" he said with a smirk on his face

"I grinned, don't give yourself that much credit, it's just really comfortable and easy to talk to you" I said still smiling

"See, I'm not all that bad"

"Shall we?" he asked

"We shall" I said

And with that we strolled over to the nice comfy benches.

Nope, I was totally wrong, it's bloody hard.

"So ready to talk now?"

I sighed. "I guess so"

"My Sister died when I was eleven,." I started off, trying to fight back the tears but couldn't because they were already rolling down my cheek.

To my surprise he reaches over and pulled me into a tight hug. "I'm so so sorry"

I chuckled humourlessly "What for? It's not your fault. Now, I haven't finished yet.

We all went on vacation to Bahamas during the summer. My mum and I went shopping for restocking. My brother came with. So it was only my sister and my dad left at home. She had said she wanted some banana bread. It was her absolute favorite," I paused smiling at the memories of her.

She was so young and so innocent. "Well, we offered to buy her some, but dad said that he would make it himself for her. We agreed and while they were making it, my dad left her in charge of it. That was his big stupid mistake. While he slept off, he had told her to watch the oven but she was a kid, what did she know. She also totally forgot and was watching TV. A few hours later, we got to the house only to be greeted by the smell of smoke. My brother followed the smell and it led him to the kitchen, which was pitch black. But the only thing we could see was a body on the floor. A lifeless body." I paused to look up to see Drew's Expression.

He was showing a feel of pity and sincere sadness. I didn't think he could be sincere. He didn't say anything so I continued. "The lifeless body was my sister, Penny. My brother put two and two together and he figured it out. She was asthmatic and she probably followed the smell and ended up dying. Dad still hadn't woken up, so Alex went to wake him up. And then I heard shouting. I was only eleven, there was only so much I could understand. So I entered the kitchen seeing Penny's body on the floor laying lifelessly. I immediately slumped to the floor crying my heart out shouting 'Penny, penny, wake up, we got you some banana bread.' But it was too late"

"She had been dead for about two hours. So my dad blames himself for everything and I agree. They all told me that a fire started and killed her but when I was older, I got to know the real damn truth. My old man killed Penny.

Intentionally or not, he killed her. And ever since then I shut him out and hated him. I still do. And he sent me a text saying that he wants to meet with me and talk to me. So I guess you should understand why I'm so pissed. And next week marks five years since her death. " I said finally finishing and I sighed heavily.

Weirdly again, he pulled me into another thing, this one tighter and longer. I liked this. I enjoy talking to him and I totally feel better.

"Thank you, Drew"

"For what? "

"For making me tell you. I feel a whole lot better" I said with a smile

"Told you I wasn't bad" He said with a smirk.

"And now soft, sweet, caring Drew is gone and egotistical d!ckhead is back"

He smiled before he pulled on a serious face.

"Listen, Liv,"

"Whoa, we're getting serious here" I teased

"Shut up and let me talk"

I rolled my eyes sighing in defeat

"Shoot"

"I want you to talk to your old man" I scoffed

"And why would I do that" I said flatly

"Because you're not doing it for him but for me and most importantly, for Penny"

Oh no. What have I done. I just practically told him my back story. I've never told anyone. Not even West, Cece and South. And they were my ultimate best friends. I guess he just made it easy.

"So is that a yes?"

"Yeah sure, I'll do it for Penny and not for him. Yeesh, when did you get so cheesy. Don't go all soft on me." I teased and he smirked then said "Oh I'm hard alright" "Oh my gosh, ew!" I said as we laughed together

"Now let's go get some Starbucks" I said suddenly feeling the need for coffee

"Yeah, I'm game"

And with that, I already had a soft spot for Drew. Hearing him call my name sent tingles up my spine.

He stood up and stretched out an arm "Shall we?" I smiled immediately bouncing back "We shall"

And with that I skipped school to go to Starbucks with Drew. We talked all through. Nothing personal, just talk.

I'd say this was a good day. And I have a feeling that with Drew, everyday was gonna be like this.
