Chapter 14: New Home

We were guided by the Real State Agent to the house which I was planning to buy and it has a wide yard which can used for gardening. The building was like an English Manor house which is little bit old but was stunning good condition.
"This house is good. I like it! I would like to buy this house!"
"What?!"
Yunyun and the agent was surprised by my sudden decision.
"Wait! Wait! Wait! Didn't you say that you're buying a mansion? This is just a small house and it is even quite expensive! It's completely different from what you are asking to buy!"
The agent was panicking.
"No, I just changed my mind and I want this house."
"But--- You haven't saw other houses and mansions, right? It might be better than this old house."
"You don't have to waste my time. I know those mansions are haunted and the owners are desperately selling it at a lowest price. Just sell this normal house to me." I explained while the agent was sweating profusely.
"Do you understand?" I spoke with threatening tone while giving him intense stare.
"Yes! I'm sorry!" The agent got intimidated and quickly bowed to me, and he accepted the deal.
The agent gave me the paper works then I signed the deal after paying the total cost of the house.
"Thanks for the purchase! This house is yours now!"
He bowed again and left the yard hurriedly in fear.
"Hieee! Scary!"
Yunyun anxiously walked to my side and
"Are you okay with deciding this quickly? We haven't even check on anything."
"Don't worry. I already did some research before deciding to buy this place."
"Huh? When did you do that?"
"Well... Few days ago."
Spinning the ring of keys in my index finger, I walked towards the house and Yunyun followed after me.
"You can ask around the folks living around the area and they will tell you if it the place is worth your money or not. Regardless of the amount, you have to take the inconveniences into consideration before buying it. What's the point of buying a house if you can't live in it? I don't want being haunted by a ghost every night."
I unlocked the door then we entered inside the manor house.
Yunyun was surprised when she saw inside of the house.
"It's worth the price, right?"
"Yes! It's amazing!"
The living room has furnitures covered in white cloth.
I took off the cloth of the statue in the corner of the room and it was a beautiful masterpiece statue of a deity which is carved in wood with human height scale.
"Haru-kun! This is very well-made! It's beautiful..."
Then both of us got very disappointed when we read the carved words below the statue's feet.

I took the statue and dragged it next to the entrance door then I took off my adventurer's coat and hanged it on the statue's arm.
"Now, that makes this thing useful."
"Aren't you afraid of being struck down by deities?" Yunyun asked with worried tone.
"Worry not. It's just a statue. It seems like the last owner of this house is an antique collector but he doesn't have any good taste."
"That's rude!"
"I don't mind Goddess Eris but Goddess Aqua?"
"Haru-kun! Let's just check the kitchen!"
Yunyun pushed to the kitchen and the place already has a wide table and chairs which is also covered in white cloth. There's also a chimney in the corner which is a bit dusty and covered in spider webs.
"Now, I can make our own meals. You can look forward for it."
"Is that okay? Can I really live here with you?"
"Of course, that's also one of the main reason why I even bought a house. It just the two of us, and no neighbor will be disturbed."
Yunyun blushes as I held both of her hands.
"You can pick the room you want on the next floor. I'll take the room next to it."
"Umm... Haru-kun... Are you really okay living with me? What if I become a bother--"
I placed my index finger on her lips to stop her from talking more then I smiled.
"I don't really mind. You can bother me as much as you want and I will listen to all your troubles... Now, go and choose your room upstairs while I'll prepare our snacks.
"C-Can I, really? Won't you get angry at me?"
"It depends on the situation. I won't really necessarily get angry."
"Okay then... Is it okay for me to choose first?"
"Yeah... or do you want to stay in the same room as me?" I tried to tease her again which made her embarrassed.
"No, I'll choose!"
Yunyun immediately ran upstairs while hiding her flustered face.
"Now, let's make some snacks."
After choosing her room, we returned back to our inn and told the Inn Owner that we're already moving. I placed all our things in a pulling cart that I borrowed together with the groceries, cooking utensils and some equipments, we bid our farewell to the Inn Owner.
"Haru-san! You have to take care of Yunyun. She's such a sweet and nice girl."
"Yes! I promise that I'll protect her smile." I responded seriously.
The Inn Owner glanced at Yunyun whose been silently fidgeting the whole time.
"Yunyun!"
"Yes!"
"You're lucky to have a such reliable and good looking man. You have to treasure your relationship with him. I thought you're always been loner but I'm glad that you've found your important person. You have to take care of him too!"
"Yes!"
Yunyun nodded several times.
"Now, go! Take care, the two of you!"
I waved my hand while pulling the cart with my other hand as we leave the place.
"Thanks for everything!"
Yunyun was pushing the cart with smile then we left together.
"Come visit sometimes!"
"Yes!"
"Please make a happy big family! I want to see your offsprings!"
"Pfffft!"
Those last words caught me off guard and got stumble a little.
"Please spare me with the teasing!"
Glancing at Yunyun, she was trembling and her face has been redder than before. There might be some awkward atmosphere between us but I still spoke to her.
"Let's go, Yunyun."
"Yes, Haru-kun..."

While walking along the road to our new home, Yunyun found Megumin poking an apple on the tree with her magic staff in someone's backyard.
"Huh? Megumin? What are you doing?"
The apple fall off the ground and Megumin picked it up then wiped the fruit with dress. Taking a bite on the fruit, she glanced towards us and she became pale.
"What?!! Are you showing off, Yunyun?!" she yelled.
"Hey! Why are you mad?"
Yunyun approached her but Megumin pushed her away.
"Stop it! Go away! Is it because you're ahead of me that you're giving me that pitiful look? Don't be so arrogant! I will surpass you before you know it! I will find a good looking man better than yours!"
"Megumin, what's wrong with you? Did I offend you or something? Hey, tell me!"
Yunyun was unhappy being treated like that by her only close friend.
"Guess, I don't have any choice..."
I sighed, thinking something about the situation and how will I help her. An idea quickly came into my mind and went for it.
"Hey, little girl! Seems like you misunderstood something."
"What?! What did you just say?!"
I easily caught her attention by calling her a child. Now, the target of her anger switched towards me.
"Yunyun and I may intimate on each other but we're not actually dating yet."
"Huh?"
Megumin looks confused while Yunyun was shock.
"What?!!"
"Are you saying that you were just lying to her all this time? I'll never forgive you!"
Her glare was so fierce that she can even intimidate someone like me.
"Megumin..."
As expected, she really cares for her and Yunyun noticed it.
"How about you try to find out? Come and visit our new home. I'll explain everything over there."
"You!"
"Also, I'm gonna make a lot of dishes... Let's see if you can finish them all!"
With conceited grin, I left and walked ahead of them while pulling the cart alone.
"Hey, Yunyun! Is what he just said just now... is that true?"
"Well... I don't know... If he said so... then it must true..."
She seems to be dejected with the tone of her voice.
"Even you is not sure? Why are you even following that jerk? This is why you easily get trick!" Megumin scolded her.
"..."
Yunyun ended up being silent and she was looking down the whole time until we arrived to our new house. Megumin quickly went to check the backyard of our new home.
"Is this the new house? Well, not bad. It's not comparable to our new mansion."
Yunyun approached me while her friend is away then she spoke me with sad expression.
"Umm... Haru-kun... a-about..."
She started to tremble and unable to resume words then--
"My confession to you..."
"Huh?"
Her eyes widened when she realizes something then she glanced towards me.
"I confessed and haven't got the answer from you yet... But you can take your time... Until then, I will wait for your answer. You have to treasure your friendship with her."
"Haru-kun..."
Tears dripped from her eyes and she smiled. I took out a handkerchief from my pocket then wiped off the tears in her face.
"Looks like I already broke my promise from the Inn Owner and made you cry."
"Hehe... This doesn't count, Haru-kun."
Suddenly, Yunyun grabbed on my neck and pulled me, kissing me on the cheek which gave me a surprise.
"Huh?"
Moving away from me shyly,
"I already have the answer but I keep it secret for the time being. Haru-kun, please take that as my gratitude."
I touched the part of my cheek which kissed by her.
"I want it in my lips. Try to do it again!"
Yunyun turned red and she retorted,
"No, I won't!"
She ran to the backyard and followed after Megumin.
