Volume 1: Chapter 2 - Part 3
Author: Geraint
After half a year later, Mia-san and Akitsuki-sensei has finally having their wedding and the ceremony ended on the church with them kissing at the altar after their vow. All the attendees clapped their hands together including me and some of them had tears on their eyes watching them. Mia-san who is now officially my new mother glanced behind her back and she gave Himiko-san a smug face which was her bridesmaid and this made Himiko-san annoyed of her. When the celebration ended, the married couple went to their honeymoon overseas, leaving the mistress maid at home to look after us.
Yuuka, Shiina and Lilith are attending an all girls junior high which was a prestigious school of developing new celebrities for entertainment industry. Yuuka has returned back now to her acting job but in different agency which she became famous again and she is on her way to become an idol that she's been dreaming about.
While everyone is busy, I am alone at home reading books in the couch while sipping tea and Himiko-san was staring at me with disappointment since I'm have no better things to do other than studying.
"Shouldn't you go out sometimes and play with other children outside, Yuki-sama? You're already reading books for Tokyo University entrance exam which not fitting for your age."
"It can't be helped. Unlike you humans, we demons mature faster mentally. At my age, I should be already working on a position in the castle or become a merchant to trade goods with different countries."
"It might be different in your home world but you have to get you use to the things here. I know you might return back someday but at least you have good memories with the people you met here."
Thinking what she said, I don't think she was wrong.
"Okay..."
"Don't you have anything you want to do aside from reading or studying?" she asked, sitting beside me.
"Well, practice my swordsmanship but I don't have any good opponent here in this world. It should be someone who can at least destroy a whole city with only one swing of his sword."
"Hey! Is there someone powerful who can do that?!" Himiko-san was really shock.
"No really that many in my home world. If they want to spar with me, they should able to do that or they won't survive against me."
"You're telling me that you're someone very dangerous!"
"I'm demon prince after all and the candidate to become the next Demon King."
Himiko-san was trembling in fear beside me.
"I'm not really that indiscriminate. I'm very kind to the people who are also kind to me. If I'm a bad a person, I already destroyed this country when we arrived here in this world."
She looks pale with my words.
"Anyway, what are you doing on Mom's room earlier? I saw you carrying out some pile of folders."
"Oh, those are..."
She didn't continued and look away from me, probably thinking of how she will answer my question which is really suspicious.
"Can I see it?"
Leaving no choice, she sighed and responded:
"To tell you the truth, Yuuka-ojousama asked me to dispose those papers without you knowing about it."
"You mean, those are for me? Why would she do that?" I was confused of my step-sister's actions because both of us really get along.
"Those are the list of candidates for Yuki-sama's Fiancée in the future." she explained and I got disappointed.
"Well, nevermind."
"There's also some list of potential suitors pursuing Yuuka-ojousama to become their Fiancée."
"Oh, burn those papers and don't let Yuuka see them. Also, keep the list for those mine, I want to check them myself since I have nothing to do."
Checking the list of my potential partners one by one, I was yawning after knowing that most of them are just daughters of rich family who got very spoiled by their parents and I lost my interest. Some of them has a lot make up on their faces that made themselves look like a clown.
"I prefer girls with natural beauties."
"Please don't judge a book by its cover, Yuki-sama." Himiko-san scolded me.
"I know... but judging already from the personal information, I can already guess what kind of person are those in the list. They are full of lies!"
"That just how the world works, Yuki-sama. You have to meet them yourself and learn if they're telling the truth."
"Oh, I haven't told anyone about this but I actually have an ability to detect lies."
"Yuki-sama, lying has been a part of humanity--Wait! What?!" she was completely shock.
"I can see from the aura of a person if someone is lying. The more malicious the lie, the more darker the aura person has."
Hearing that, Himiko-san became more cautious of me.
"White lies which has no malicious intentions are not that visible to me so it would be hard for me to detect them." she sighed in relief after I said that.
"Yuki-sama, you're really an enemy of entire humanity."
"I'm the one who will soon to be demon king after all. You foolish humans tend to be greedy and corrupt then when a disasters happens, you blamed it to us demons in order to hide your immoral actions."
"Blame it to those leaders who succumb to their power in order to maintain it... But Yuki-sama... it sounds like you hate humans but here you are, bonding with us. You even became a part of the family. It looks contradicting because you've been a big help to us." Himiko-san said with a smile and that made me little bit embarrassed.
"I like the atmosphere here more unlike in my home world. You rarely see remote villages in human territory that was friendly to us demons."
The girl on the next list was wearing a short blonde wig with her face filled with whitening powder and has fake eyelashes to make her look mature. I sighed, throwing it away when I saw the next girl I has very furious face which is telling that her picture was taken without her permission. She has long black hair which has a traditional Japanese cut, black eyes and fair skin, and she's wearing a Hakama with a sword hanging on her waist.
"Hm?"
I picked up the paper and looked at her profile.
"Mizuno Kaho?"
"Oh, that girl is the daughter of the head of some Kenjutsu school around here. Did she pick your interest?"
"Well, I'm more curious about her skills in wielding sword. I studied the history of this country and got immersed about sword techniques of those warriors named 'Samurai'. I want to learn their techniques."
Himiko-san placed her index finger on her chin and she looked up, trying to remember something then she said:
"From what I heard from Mia-sama, she told me that their school is not doing good and it's going to get bankrupt soon so..." she didn't finish and glanced towards me.
"They are trying to sell off their daughter and make her get married to a rich family, hoping to receive help from them in order for their Dojo to survive. Am I right?"
"Yes, Yuki-sama but I don't think that they are horrible parents to do that. After all, the head of that Dojo and Shun are used to close friends in the past. They are still in contact with each other since that muscle-head tends to get injured and be brought to his Shun-sama's clinic here. Making her daughter engage to you when he found out that Shun-sama has a son may just decided on his whim or some kind of gratitude."
"I see... Then let's go and visit that Dojo! I want to see their sword techniques with my own eyes." I spoke with excited tone, raising my fist.
"Then I will call some bodyguards from the company to accompany us." Himiko-san stood up.
"Wait! Do you think I need bodyguards?"
"I can't drive, Yuki-sama." she responded and walked away.
"Okay..."
