The next week, more students went missing between classes. Every time, they were beaten even worse than the person before. Bram became a little clingy, as he was worried for me after the almost kidnapping. He tried to make sure that he was by my side whenever he could. When he could not be nearby, then he had Flo or Joy stay with me.
"Really? You are too tall to be leaning on me." I told him as he put his whole weight on my shoulder.
"But I like leaning on you. It makes it easier to kiss your head."
I lightly moved his head off me as we walked to class. His hand moved down to grab my books, but I grabbed his hand to stop him.
"I can carry my own books. I do not need your help if you want to protect me. Besides, I can fight with my legs but you use fists, so you need free hands."
He gave me a funny look before smiling at me.
"I love you so much. However, I think you know that already. Don't ever lose your sass."
