It started off as a normal day for Autumn, she would get up, wash her face, do her wild, curly hair, eat breakfast, change, then repeat.
But today was supposed to be different, today was her 18th birthday, the day she would figure out who she would be mated to for the rest of her life.
She was feeling a bundle of emotions for today, happiness, anxiousness, and fear.
Happy to see the person who would make her world amazing, anxious to know who it is, and fearful because she didn't want them to reject her.
There was a small chance that would happen. Since she was next in line to be alpha of her dad's pack if she finds her mate. Anyone would jump at the opportunity to be alpha with her.
She then looked at the clock and gasped, seeing that it was almost time for the breakfast ceremony.
At the ceremony, everyone in the pack would gather into the ballroom, waiting for the alpha, if the alpha smells their mate and finds them, then they would immediately go through the mating ceremony.
If not, the alpha would go to the worldwide mating ceremony and find their mate there, if they still couldn't find them they would have to continue going there until they find their mate.
Autumn didn't want to go through that, she wanted to find her mate quickly so they could live happily ever after, even though that only happens in the storybooks.
Autumn began her regular routine, then picked out a beautiful long off the shoulder emerald dress, with beautiful jewels shimmering down from the top of the dress.
It was matched with beautiful heels with straps and colorful jewels along the middle strap.
She then got her tiara and placed it on her hair, slicked back into a low bun.
Autumn opened the door and looked out in the halls to make sure no one was there.Then she quickly ran to the ballroom so she wouldn't be late
Autumn huffed out a loud sigh and looked at the guards standing outside the door.
"Am I late?" she asked.
The guard smiled at her, "Just on time"
They both opened the grand doors, and Autumn walked out gracefully, like a true alpha.
All of the spectators gasped, they thought she was beautiful, one of the most beautiful women of all time.
They then bowed in respect for their future alpha.
Although there were some who disagreed with a woman becoming alpha, most accepted her easily.
As Autumn walked to the middle of the stage she could already smell her mate near her. She knew he was very close, so close she could touch him.
She glanced around, not knowing who it was. Then, she looked behind her, first looking at the current alpha, Pete.
Pete, or what she calls him, uncle Pete, was her father's brother. He was supposed to be the next in line for the throne but Autumn's mother gave birth to her, which made Autumn the next in line.
Her father and mother died in a rogue attack, so uncle Pete took the alpha position until she became old enough to be alpha.
She thought they had a good relationship, but uncle Pete despised the innocent girl, hating her for even being born.
Then she locked eyes with Logan, the beta.
Beta logan was the last betas son, who also died in the attack. He turned 18 three years ago, now being 21 he handles his position greatly.
Mate.Mate.Mate.Mate.
She heard her wolf whisper in her mind. As she stared into Beta Logan's brown eyes, she felt her eye colors change from brown to a strong blue.
"Mate!" She yelled,and everyone gasped and looked at beta logan, expecting him to bite her neck to claim her as his mate.
But they were wrong.
He just looked at her in disgust, and kept silent.Autumn started to become confused. A million thoughts swarming through her head. And a million whispers she heard throughout the audience.
"Why isn't he saying anything?"
"He's going to reject her, that poor girl"
"She's not that cute anyway"
She felt her heart drop when he finally decided to say-
"I, Beta Logan, reject you, Autumn as my mate"
