After listening to Margaret's explanation Edward was too shocked, after that he came to realize although he was able come in terms with all the dog eat dog world rules but due to staying in peaceful era, there were few rules or matters which he couldn't come in terms with. After thinking all the suffering the commoners and slaves or non nobles have to face, Edward's face became determined as if he came to some decision. He thought to himself "I have to create a place where all the commoners, and non nobles can stay without fearing the consequences or the sufferings they have faced till now." Just as he thought that he heard Laura's voice in his head.
Laura: [ To do that you have to become overlord of this whole world and have everyone under your rule. ]
Edward: [ Anyway to create a safe place for my family i have to become strong, since i'm going to become stronger than anyone why can't i become king of the whole world, so that i can change all the old rule and create new peaceful era. ] Edward said in fire tone.
After that Edward turned around and started speaking with the others.
Edward: [ Mother tell what can the nobles can do, except for having lot power, they enjoy everything, they can do corrupt things, because of their greed they will kill anyone to get the things they want, they are cowards they fear death more than anything, they arrogant, they get privileges in all things. Don't think i don't know that the few nobles that where staying here were the first ones to betray the kingdom to save there lives.
But what about the commoners and slaves you are talking about they have to work hard their whole life to get some money for their old ages, they have to suffer the harassment if any official or noble do that, they starve to death, they can get killed anytime if a noble wants to kill them, they will be happy just if they get little food and money or a place to stay, they have always been suffering, but when the kingdom was suffering invasion they were the first ones to take arms and defend the walls.
Since the so great nobles tend to betray in fear of death and can do nothing good, then why should i care about them when they aren't even loyal to the kingdom, today its Ruth family tomorrow it maybe other families. Although there maybe some families that are good but most of the noble families have filled with arrogance, pride and corruption, so tell me mother is there anything following the noble rule.
You said we need allies, yes i agree with that we need allies, but you tell for a large army of 150,000 soldiers to freely come to our doors without us notice they must have passed through the neighboring kingdoms, since these kingdoms are our allies why didn't they inform us before the army could get here. They might been scared of offending large kingdom or they might have taken some bribes from them or maybe both so they chose to say silent watch as we face the invading army unprepared.
Since it will happen anyway why should i care about the noble rule or care about being outcasted or being laughing stock for those nobles. If i can provide them with enough benefits they will come running here showing their disgusting faces to form alliance, if can't they will go away in their own way. But if i have many advantages or resources or goods those greedy noble families might form alliance themselves and attack us together, isn't the present situation like that, Ruth family and Crow-wood kingdom formed alliance and came here to destroy us.
So since everyone's live matters i will definitely care more about the commoners and the slaves rather that those noble who don't do things rather bring more trouble. Atleast there commoners and slaves work for the kingdom, they help us farm food, mine ores, catch animals and fishes, can grow cattle, war horses and many others. Since there useless commoners and slaves you said can so much of benefit to kingdom then why shouldn't i care about them so tell me mother who should i choose a noble or a commoner? ] Edward poured out all the anger he had for the discrimination between nobles and commoners.
