Chapter 3 - Journey on the morrow - Valencia

Valencia slowly walked home, biting her lower lip in thought as her eyes scanned around her home, a simple smoothed out obsidian home. Nothing too amazing nor extravagant, a place she probably won't get to see for awhile. Really there wasnt much furniture in the home, as her family more often than not were out and about, rarely home often enough to relax. Their rooms had the most furniture in them, tables, their beds, and her with the exception of the mirror being the only girl thats home most of the time. It didn't really bother her though, though one area that always drew her was the picture of the entire family. Her and her mother of course being on par with her father in height. Two female warriors, with a husband that was just as much of a warrior. Holding a baby that was her younger brother, Squirt. No one really knew what to name him, Valencia had once called him a 'little squirt' and then it just kinda stuck there to be his real name. Ever since squirt was young she remembered just how protective she was, a new younger sibling just going to school to learn about the fae, to learn about their culture, the warriors just like her. Giving them information they could need in the future. Even going as far as to teach them some about the World of Time, warning the children of the potential dangers of the world.

Shaking her head, Valencia placed down the picture frame. Turning to make her way back into her room, until she heard a small child-like voice call to her. Peering over to the door where the sound had came from she saw the little girl that she had baby sat for quite awhile-Amie. They had become fast friends and Amie had always begun to look up to Valencia. One day wanting to become strong like her. Having the same relationship that Valencia and her mother had.

"Valencia!" Amie shouted with a pant, having run all the way here when she heard the news and rumors.

"Please tell me you're not leaving! You're going to that scary world- I dont want you to go! Can you please stay?" Amie looked up at her with her big golden eyes, the lava in them not yet formed so it ended up just being a swirling golden.

Valencia found herself crouching down, opening her arms to pull her in for a hug. Like how her father did to her when young.

"I have to do this. Protecting people like you is why i'm a fighter. If humans come this way to us they could hurt us and take our homes away." Amie's eye lids had started to fill up with tears, tears that slid down her cheeks gingerly dripping onto the floor and soon she started to sob.

"How about this, If i promise you that I will come back safe- Will you stop crying?" Sniffing Amie looked back up towards Valencia, "I pinky promise, Amie. You know I dont break my pinky promises." Rubbing her eyes, Amie nodded. Moving the black hair from her face Amie finally choked out, "I-i know you don't break pinky promises, you are strong like Fire Ox." Amie giggled doing a flexing motion and a strange pose knowing exactly how to make Valencia chuckles turn into laughter.

"Okay, okay. I have to start packing now, Amie. If i pack quick enough we can play, okay?" Amie nodded, plopping her bottom down onto a few of the chairs that were in the room. Shaking her head and feeling kinda guilty, Valencia stood up finally opening the door to her room. Eyes immediately turning towards her armor closet, opening it her hand reached out to grasp the armor she liked to call, Dragon scales. The dark version of course, with its black and silver appearance. To humans, this armor could weigh about 500 pounds, but to Amans, this armor was incredibly durable and very much light. Valencia glanced towards the black bodysuit she owned for this armor, better for it to not rub up against her skin and potentially injure herself. The armor covered very surface of her skin, with pads that came up and curved to about chin level. Thick and protective of its owner. Her chest plate was silver, cupping her breasts tightly and pushing them to her chest to keep them in place. From the top of her throat the armor came down all the way to the bottom of her stomach in a v-like scale faction. Pointing downwards towards the ground Giving a lovely transition to her leg armor, more thick guards that covered from the top of her hip that curved to the kneecap. Adorning boots that covered the other half of her kneecap. Leaving only a small opening of black with the body suit that was still pretty impenetrable.

Adorning her prized helmet, she was careful of the horns that slid out from the sides of it. Sharp enough to slice someone open if it had to. The horns referenced to the males and hid her face for any possible damage, only showing most of her mouth and her eyes. In case of poison Valencia also had an armored mask that rested against her neck. Instead of adorning a cloak to finish it off, she smirked as she attached her two large dragon wings. Dark and intimidating, actually able to be used to fly if she needed to. Magic used on them by the intelligent elves themselves.

The final touch, was the sword she always went to battle with. A flaming longsword her father gave to her, crafted from the finest black smith in their world. Then passed onto the Elves to give it fiery properties. a birthday gift she will always and forever cherish. Slinding the sword out of its sheath, her eyes observed the runes that pulsed with a fiery rage. Glowing an orange telling her it was ready to be wielded by its master. Valencia smirked, sliding the sword back into its holder eventually grabbing a backpack to begin sliding some of her personal belongings into it. At this point she still hadn't ate anything, but she figured there would be plenty of food being brought with them for the journey, and food that would be made at the camp they would be in. With doctors, potential blacksmiths for repair.

With the final object she needed in the bag, she zipped it closed and slid it on. adjusting it to her shoulders so she was comfortable enough to carry it long distance.

"Okay, Amie lets go play now!" Valencia shouted, from the other room she heard a happy giggle and a laugh with the sounds of tiny feet running outside. Valencia found tiny chuckles leaving her, that is until she turned back to her room. Looking upon it for one final time, before turning back closing it tightly for when she were to return. Ready to play with her friend for a little while, before beginning her next journey- that could potentially be her last.
