Two days had passed, Lacey lay on her bed Looking up at the ceiling, with a groan she sat up, the last two days had been the most boring of your life. It was past noon she was just waiting for it to be night, she got off the bed a walked out the door, no one was in the sitting room, she slipped out the door and walked down the hall.
"I'm going to go look around a little." She told herself, turning down the hall she walkedt until she came to a set of stairs, she headed up them, at the top was a big picture of King Darren's Family.
The king stood beside his wife while their sons sat at their feet, she look at it for a minute or so before heading down the hall, taking turn after turn she soon found herself in small dimly lit hall way, Lacey looked all around.
Oh no, she was lost. Just then a door at the far end opened and out stepped Prince Jackson, Lacey looked at him, he had his head down and was looking at some papers in his hand. As he came close Lacey called out.
"Prince Jackson" she said, he looked up in surprise, "Lacey was it?" He asked, she nodded, "Why are you here" he asked, she sigh, "I was bored so I went for a walk around the palace, but I'm lost..." she sighed, he sighed too.
"Well you should have asked a servant to help you back to your rooms" he said, looking back down at his papers, he started walking again. "Well follow me and I will take you back to your rooms" he said as he passed her, she followed him for awhile, before talking. "What do you guys do for fun around here?" she asked. He stoped and looked at her.
"Well I'm really busy these days, but I go on a daily horse ride, if that's what you mean?" He said.
Lacey stopped too. "Can I join you? I get so bored sitting in my rooms all day!"
He started walking again, "do you know how to ride?" He asked. "Of course" Lacey said. "Ok sure, does your sister want to join us to?" He said, Lacey laughed, "No she is scared of them." They reached her sitting room door, he stopped, "Here we are" he said,
she smiled at him, "Thanks" she said.
Lacey got to the stables, the afternoon sun shown down on her head, she was wearing a riding dress. She walked to the door, the young boy that stood by the door opened it for her, she smiled as she walked past him. She walked in and down the row of stalls that housed the horses.
she went to a stall, inside was a black mare, eating hay. Footsteps came up behind her, "Have you been here long?" he asked, "No I just got here." she said, turning around. The prince opened the stall that the mare was in and started saddling her.
"You can choose any horse to ride in this stable." he said. Lacey walked down a little father to a stall, inside was a brown mare with a white mark on her head, "this on" she said. A servant saddled her up and brought her over to Lacey.
Lacey led the mare back to meet Jackson who was already in the saddle, She swung up and into the saddle and they started down a path that led to the forest. They rode into the trees.
The sun fell through the trees, and danced across the ground, as the wind blew through the tops of the trees. Lacey rode side by side with Jackson in silence through the trees, the forest soon fell away to a green meadow, flowers spread throughout the greenery.
Lacey pushed her horse into a run, they flew across the meadow, she looked back to see Jackson's horse right behind hers. They raced around the meadow, after awhile their horses slowed. Lacey was laughing so hard her sides hurt, as she slid of her horse and fell in to the grass Jackson pulled up his horse but stayed in the saddle.
Lacey sat up catching her breathe, she looked up at Jackson, "could we do this again another day? I haven't had this much fun in awhile." she said, getting up and swing back up into the saddle, Jackson nodded, "I would love for you to join me again." he said. They rode back, Lacey kept up a conversation the whole way back. He left her at her sitting room door, so she could bath and change before dinner.
Lacey cleaned up and got dressed in her blue dress, the fabrics touch made her fell safe. she left her rooms and headed to the dinning room, when she arrived her family was already there with the King and Queen and their four sons.
Later that evening the family sat in the girls sitting room talking, " We are going to leave at the end of the week." her father said, "We must get home before the Kinghting Festival."
he continued, "But Queen Raylee has planned a party for us before we leave!" said her mother, "It will be the day before we leave."
Lacey look at the dresses layed out on the bed, they were the best ones she had brought with her, there was a gold one, a light yellow one and a red one, they all looked beautiful but!, she walked over to the trunk where everything was packed and ready for their departure the next day, the blue dress lay on the top.
Slowly lifting it out she put it over her head and went to look in the mirror, the dress was long sleeved and had a long skirt, but was otherwise plain, the zipper slowly zipped up sending the tickling sensation through her, she liked it, it always made her fell safe, but she wished there was a little more style to it.
Suddenly the dress began to glow, the skirt started growing more full and fluffy the sleeves shortened then made ruffles around the cuffs and around the neck line, while this was going on Lacey stared at the mirror in shock, The dress stopped glowing and she now stood in a blue dress with a full skirt and ruffly sleeves.
She smiled, it was perfect. She walked over to the vanity and pulled out the curlers, when she was done she faced the mirror, "Finally done" she said. She walked out of her room and into the sitting room, no one was in there yet, she sat down on the couch and waited.
Lacey stared as the ball room doors opened, soft music floated out the lights were twinkling and sparkling, she stepped into the beautiful room and sighed, she didn't mind dancing, she mainly came for the music.
"Lacey" called a voice, she looked, Angela came up breathless. "There you are! it took you long enough." she said, grabbing Lacey's arm. Lacey giggled as she was pulled by Angela.
They weaved though the crowd, "Good evening Ladies!" some one said, but Angela kept on going, they walked until their mother call for them not far away. She was in a gold dress, "Girls there you are!" she said. their father was not far off talking to King Darren. "Angela you look so cute!" gushed Queen Raylee, she was standing beside their mother, she took Angela into a big hug, Angela blushed and tried to get away from the hug.
"I'm going to miss you girls" Queen Raylee said, Lacey smiled, the Queen was wearing a red dress that complimented her figure. She let go of Angela and turned to Lacey's mother, " You girls must come back and visit soon!" she said, "Can I have this dance?" said a voice behind her, she turned around to see Jackson bowing, she giggled taking his hand, he swept her into the dance.
She didn't mind dancing with Jackson, because they had become friends over the week and she had joined him on many horse rides. They danced two more dances before going to get something to drink at the refreshment tables, Lacey was laughing and talking with Jackson when his older brother came up.
"Brother, there you are, father wants you to go meet Dutches Grand's daughter." he said, Jackson sighed, and looked at Lacey, "I don't want to leave you here by your self." he said. "I will be fine" Lacey said with a giggle. "I will keep her company" his brother said. Jackson walked away leaving her with Grayson. Lacey took a bite of her pastry, Grayson pick one up off the tray taking a bite of it then setting it back down, "Would you like to dance?" he said.
"No thank you" she said wishing Jackson was still there, Grayson scared her, "I forgot that I promised my brother a dance." she said, and walked away before he could say anything else, she searched for her brother. She found him talking to a young girl about her age, the girl hurried away as she approached.
Alex looked over at her as she came up, "You look nice sis." he said. She laughed, "Let's dance!" she said, Alex had a grin on his face as they danced around the floor. When the dance was over they went to find their parents. When they couldn't find them Lacey sighed, "I'm tired, I'm going to go to bed." she said, and headed to her room.
When she got to her room she headed straight for the bath. Her legs hurt, she hadn't danced so much in awhile not even on her birthday. She soaked until she felt better, then got up dried and slipped her nightgown on and left the small room.
Her blue dress was laying on the bed, Lacey smiled, it was back to its original shape She folded it the best she could and placed it back into the trunk then slipped into bed with a sigh.
Lacey sat on the floor legs crossed thinking hard on her next move, Angela sat across from her with a grin on her face, a board sat between them. Lacey slowly moved her King, Angela laughed as she moved her Queen into a check mate.
"Oh come on!" Lacey said, Angela set the pons back in place for a new game. Angela was on a winning streak, this was the fifth day they could be found on the floor of Lacey's cabins playing games and talking. They were on there way back to their home.
Lacey started the game moving her first pon, one more game later they both just gave up. Getting up, Angela left to go to her cabin. Lacey sighed getting up too and putting the board away. She couldn't wait to get home. She made her way up on deck, walking over to the railing she looked out over the water. The sun was behind the clouds, the clouds looked like rain.
She could even smell it. She looked around, there was not many people on the deck. She looked back out at the water and got lost in thought. 20 minute past when she was suddenly pulled out of her thoughts by a gust of ice cold wind. It was darker then it should be. Looking at the sky she saw thick dark clouds covered it, lightening lit up the sky.
The deck heaved to the side as a big wave crashed into the side of the ship.
Rain poured down, instantly she was drenched and she could hardly see. The sky was so dark and the rain so heavy that she stumbled as the ship rolled to the side. Her dress turned yellow as she grabbed he skirts and started for the door of her father's work room to get out of the pouring rain. The wind was so strong it pushed her back.
She turned around to the railing to get a hand hold to keep up right. She stared in horror as a massive wave taller than a three story building smashed into the ship and sent her over the edge and under.
It was so dark, she closed her eyes, fighting to get a breath. Wave after wave crashed over her pushing her down deeper and deeper. Her lungs screamed for air, she could feel herself loosing conciousness, as the water filled her lungs.
