Alex was walking beside Sophie as they strolled along the streets of a lively town. If it were the old Alex, he might have looked around like the country bumpkin that he was because of how different everything was.
However, after seeing a part of Abbie's world, the big houses made from brick, and the street made up of cobblestones didn't strike him as extraordinary.
Sophie noticed Alex's indifference towards the scenery inside the town, which made her feel disappointed. She planned to give Alex a surprise by giving him a tour, but nothing seemed to surprise the boy as they strolled side by side.
Perhaps the only thing that surprised Alex to a certain extent was that no one, aside from Sophie, could see and touch him. The guards guarding the gates greeted Sophie like they always do, but paid no attention to Alex whatsoever.
Since Sophie had already seen Abbie in the past, she thought that the little boy shared the same characteristic as his Master.
