Tears were falling like a river as a chubby woman covered her face with both hands. She had just been told about the things that Alex was experiencing in the future and it broke her heart.
She was currently sitting on top of a hill, near a stone tablet. Right beside her was a chubby young lady who had a very sad expression on her face.
Abbie looked at the only proof that there was once a child who had sacrificed his life to save the people he loved the most from the bandits who raided their small village.
"To think that even in the future, Alex is still suffering," Sophie choked through her sobs. "Hasn't he suffered enough?"
"Sorry, I wasn't able to protect him," Abbie replied in a voice tinge with sorrow. "I only wanted for him to live happily. But his duty and responsibility is something that I can't take away from him."
