Alice was about to knock on the door of Abbie's room when it suddenly opened by itself. She was surprised when she saw that Abbie was already properly dressed. Her hair was still wet and Alice assumed that she had just finished bathing a few minutes earlier.
"Good morning, Abbie."
"Good morning, Alice."
Alice eyed the chubby girl in front of her. Although her eyes were still a bit red, she looked way better compared to how she looked the day following Alex's death.
"Do you want to have breakfast?" Alice asked with a smile.
"Yes," Abbie answered while patting her stomach. "I'm starving."
Aiden chuckled from the side before going to the kitchen. He planned to cook a few more pancakes just in case Abbie wanted more servings. Actually, he felt relieved. When he saw Abbie, he knew instinctively that she had been able to accept Alex's death and planned to move on with her life.
'This is a good sign,' Aiden thought. 'Abbie, you're a lot stronger than I thought.'
