Abbie watched as the bandits herded the women and children to the outskirts of the village. The village didn't have that many people to begin with, so their numbers were less than a hundred.
As for the men, Abbie knew that the bandits had no use for them so they might have already died by their hands. Only those few with skills like the old village head and the middle-aged man were still holding on.
"Mama Sophie, what will happen to us?" Alex asked.
Sophie patted his head, "Don't worry. I'm here."
She didn't know how to answer Alex's question because she didn't know the answer. The bandits were casting lecherous gazes at some of the young ladies from the village. Sophie knew the names of all of these girls because the village was a tight knit community.
Everyone knew each other, and they helped each other as well. Sophie sighed in her heart. With a glance, she understood that these young ladies would become the bandits' plaything before being sent off to be sold as slaves.
