The sound of a wooden club hitting a sword echoed inside the dungeon. Alex was fighting a one on one battle with the goblin. Although Abbie allowed the boy to fight the goblin alone, she was prepared to assist him anytime.
Alex's first move was to sneak attack the goblin. However, his attack was easily dodged because the goblin was prepared. It swung its club for a counter attack which almost landed a nasty blow on Alex's head. Luckily, Alex was able to dodge in time or else he would have been seriously injured.
Since the element of surprise was gone, the two were locked in armed combat. Currently, Alex only had the strength of a thirteen-year-old boy. If not for Durandal being a mythical weapon, he wouldn't have stood a chance against the stronger foe he was facing.
