Aranak went outside to participate in the instructor's examination.
He liked the first challenge a lot because all a person had to due to past the first stage is arrest someone for committing a crime.
This involved memorizing the rules of the investigator's school of sacred rite, which happened to be the most important thing for investigators the instructor mentioned. He kept this in mind when heading to the city while reading the rules of Yolot Paradise, the name of the place he happened to be residing.
He memorized the rules in the book, but decided to write in some amendments that seemed useful for the future. He had millions of years of experience, and knew some things about governance, since he technically created most of the cosmos in his free time.
'They'll thank me in a few hundred thousand years when they finally appreciate my rules. I'll take over this city in a few weeks once I'm a little bit stronger,'
Aranak finished writing the amendments by the time he got to the most dangerous part of Yolot Paradise.
The book said that only criminals in the Heavenly Rite stage congregated here because a gang called the two step dalangs had taken it over. Even the strongest investigator didn't dare come here in fear of getting ganged up on by the two step dalangs gang.
'I'll just take out one criminal doing something trivial. He seems to be moving a heavy bag that probably has a few bodies in it. I'll go deal with him.'
Aranak walked over to a man in the Beyond Mortal Rite and helped him pick up the bag and put it into his car. Then when he went to thank him, he kicked him in the balls, stole his keys, and drove the car back to the investigators school.
'Well, that happened to be easier than I thought, hehehe,'
Aranak arrived back at the investigators school of the sacred rite and took the poor bloke out of the car and tossed him in a cell.
The investigator arrived a few minutes later and looked at the license plate in horror. Why would the son of the head of the two step dulangs gang be here?! He grabbed Aranak's shoulders and shook him, pleading with him to run in his direction.
Turning away from him with a frown, Aranak noticed his expression at seeing the license plate.
'What?! I just borrowed a vehicle from someone that committed a crime. He's in lock up already. Now what do I do next?!"
"You?! You went to the most dangerous part of Yolot Area then didn't you?! Why would you do such a thing?! Do you want all of us to die?!"
"Nope, I want to do the next challenge. Hurry up and give it to me."
Aranak really wanted to join the investigators quickly, so he could do whatever he wanted without getting in trouble. The man still seemed worried about the criminal he booked, so he took him to the cell in order to show that he'd merely knocked him out.
His phone is ringing. What the hell is happening?! How could you do this?! His father is going to be looking for him tomorrow! Did anyone follow you?!"
"Just a few people, but they're dead now," Aranak noticed a few people following him and tossed them into the sky, and this time made sure no planes got in the way. "I'm really good at throwing vertically. Want me to show you with this guy?!"
"No, just answer the phone! We have to apologize to him! In fact, if you get that guy to let us off the hook, you can be an investigator right away! I'll even go get your badge! Ha, just tell him you did it, and it had nothing to do with us!"
"I'll handle it," Aranak picked up the phone and heard the sound of an angry father on the other line breathing with bated breath.
"Hello, do you have my son?! How much do you want."
"I want a ten day all expense pass to all the low grade supply shops like Sage Convenience store. You have to pay for everything, and then your son is back."
Aranak turned away from the fainting instructor and waited for the man to answer. He took a while, and even laughed like he'd gone crazy.
"Are you insane?! You could be asking for a million bronze coin dollars, but you insist on asking for an all expense pass to the cheapest store on the planet?! Are you out of your mind?!"
"I've been around for a while, longer than you can imagine, I like to be thrifty. However, I want enough supplies to make thousands of cookies! Do you hear me?! If you want your son back, you're going to have to dish out!"
Aranak hung up the phone and helped up the instructor before taking him to the office to have a cookie. A few people had already changed the office to his liking and he had a large desk with enough office space for an assistant.
'He did say that I'm an investigator now since I dealt with that guy. It's only the first day on the job, but I can't wait to take over this city and make all criminals my personal bitches.'
Aranak smiled and looked over at the factory of his father's across the way before remembering a couple of the rules he read in the book.
"Well, let's see, my fathers prized possession is his gem facility, so since I now have the authority of an investigator, I can give him lots of violations and make him suffer for all the years my mother had to suffer. I can't wait."
