Chapter 8 - Chapter Eight

Sera POV

We made our way to the kitchen where, still in the dead of night, there are a few people still working. Accepting plates of food, we made a hasty retreat but not before saying my thanks. I could see how surprised they were of me. I would be too if I were them.

"So you died."

Well I'm not exactly known for tact, now am I?

Again he stiffened like a wooden board. Seriously that must not be healthy. I mean how many times can you be that stiff. He should really see about getting a massage.

Huh, do they even have that here. Eastern Empire, possibly, but the Vardale Kingdom. Nah I can't see that unless it's some kind of sexual thing. Then again from the rumours of Brandon Winters I wouldn't be that surprised. Wait what if h…

"llo,  anyone in there?"

"Aaah cut it out you jerk. Im back."

"Wow that was a long one. I thought  I'd finally lost you there."

Shrugging my shoulders I sat in the bed of the room that we were originally in and somehow was mysteriously transported to.

(Real story:I spaced out and Damien/Brandon dragged me here)

"So you asked me, no you said that I died. What makes you say that?"

"Well firstly you said it happened to you. That you were dragged away from all you knew and placed into a world you knew nothing about; my world. There was no period of time where the Winters' heir went missing at least not that I know of. You're constantly stiffing up like you're expecting any of this not to mention Benjamin. So you said we were being truthful. Are you Lord Brandon Winters, heir to Duke Edward Winters and the older brother of Mary and Benjamin."

"Simply put, yes I am. I know you probably have loads of questions and I'll try to answer them all if I could. So first question …"

I looked deep into his captivating grey eyes it seems for an eternity but was only for a  few moments. My face was blank as if to convey the utter seriousness of the situation and in a tone void of life I asked...

"swear to me that you'll tell me the truth okay."

His already pale tone had seemed to whiten as if he was witnessing an impossible feat, rather than simply conversing with a friend.

"Is… Lady Estelle Sterling really as enchanting as they say?"

The complete gobsmacked face on the handsome heir of the Northern region had seriously cracked me up. The look on his face was totally worth ruining the serious atmosphere.
