Synopsis
Cruel and cold, wild and strong. A beast like you cannot be contained for long. Come with me, my love, and you'll be set free. I promise you eternity. The stars are the all-seeing, the all-knowing, the storytellers in the sky. The stars made the starmen, the celestial beings who created all things living, all things breathing, and in the beginning, they had created the monsters.

Chapter 1 - Rebirth

Imagine a room. A small and narrow room with a tub to the right side closest to the door, an off white shower curtain hanging from its metal rod, and everything necessary for a bathroom. This room looks almost normal, except now the lighting is dim, reaching from over the sink as the light from above the room had no bulb. Now the foundation is withering away the more the light flickers. Cracks lie in the walls and ceiling, chipping away with time. The floor? You can't see the floor as dark murky water now covers it undisturbed, silent. A few bones rest halfway out of the water; a few resembling human skulls while others are rib cages, leg bones, and jaw fragments. Some lily pads with dull white flowers are growing near the already decayed. The water is two and a half feet deep and strangely warm in temperature. How odd. The area near the doorway and the tub are shadowed over making it harder to see. Though, the curtain remains a quarter of the way open, resting beside the bathtub that too is filled with the same murky water.

A disturbance sends ripples into the water along with a flickering blue light coming from the tub, as a creature, almost appearing human, surfaces. Dripping with water, it's body thin with a pale blue coloration of the skin and pearl white hair that lengthened the entire tub. The creature possesses a young but stunning feminine face with small breasts and thin arms. With her hand, she grips onto the smooth white surface of the tub. Her nails are the color of her hair and stuck out more like claws. Her eyes alienlike, or perhaps resembling a goat, are glistening with a blueish-green aurora as if the northern lights are trapped behind her gaze. Starting from the creature's temples grew two dark horns, at least seven inches in length that crooked slightly down, similar to an ibex. Instead of seeing smooth bone, the horns are covered thickly with almost glasslike scales. In the light, they shimmered like her eyes, a range of blues, purples, and greens.

Reaching over the side of the tub, she dips her other arm into the water before retreating moments later with the jawbone of a crocodile, that had been stripped of its flesh, now clutched in her hand. She then pulls herself upright in a sitting posture and takes a piece of her hair by which, using the jawbone, she begins combing it thoroughly. Each of the bone's long, triangular-shaped teeth slide through the silk-like strands with ease. After an hour of this constant combing, the creature places the 'comb' back down into the water.

Her body shifts suddenly, revealing soft white fur just below her abdomen and further down on a dark-colored fishtail with the same glass-like scales, each shimmering with the colors of her horns. The white fur seems to blend with the colors of the scales as it continued down to her tail fin. Turning around in the tub, she descends into the water through a hole big enough for a small child to pass through where the drain should have been. With one flip of her fin, the creature is gone, moving beneath the water. To wonder where she had gone, you'd have to fallow her in through the hole; deep into the depths of place where no man has ever laid eyes upon and lived to tell the tail.

However, sometimes even the places men fear fall to ruin, making it nearly impossible for creatures like her to stay hidden away. One day she was there, swimming along a dark cavern deep underground before surfacing through a hole carved out of smooth plastic, and the next moment she was gone. Taken away by men cloaked in stars and swirling galaxies, their faces or should I say masks were glowing blindly white. Their eyes hollowed dark, an empty black hole. Bright glowing markings with blueish white stripes and dots painted over thin dark suits beneath their cloaks. It seemed nearly attached to their odd humanoid-shaped bodies. The material even wrapped around their necks and between their fingers like gloves, covering any and every part of the skin.

They took her away to a place absent of color. She awoke dazed and in pain for they had taken away what made her different; what made her unique. They had placed her on a spotless silver table, making sure to sedate her well before injecting a honey-colored liquid into the side of her neck. Within minutes, beautiful pale blue skin dies and becomes grey and cold. Within an hour, her once breathtaking scales, soft white fur, and bright tail fin decay rapidly. Eventually, the tail splits apart leaving behind two grey limbs in its place. Another hour had passed, and her skin had become smooth, leaving no trace of imperfection. Once the process was complete, the starmen pulled out odd-looking tools from a colorless drawer. The tools resembled scissors and a saw blade. They used the scissors to cut her hair to shoulder length before removing her horns with the saw blade. Now all that was left were somewhat a human body.

Laying on her side the girl's eyes crack open slowly as she regains consciousness. The light is blinding and everything blurry, and for a while, she is unable to make out a clear image or move any part of her body. Her breathing is dangerously shallow, yet there is still life. Though when her eyes open fully, and she is able to see clearly, it's not from her own desired will. Gears had begun cranking noisily nearby, accompanied by the sounds of metal rasping against metal. The screeching and whining leave an ear-piercing scream to echo within her head causing her, who quickly felt horrified by such an unnatural sound, to jolt awake. Unfamiliar with her surroundings, the girl's eyes dart around frantic like, with fear, confusion, and desperation brewing in those eyes. She searches for the danger yet what surrounded her was only thick, lush green grass that grew much taller than the length of her body. A moment later the terrible screeching stops abruptly and in its place an eerie silence.

She gulps. The feeling of ice creeps up from her lower frame; a feeling she's never experienced before. A sudden realization carries her eyes down to her greyish white legs that stung with its icy touch. Her stomach clenches, holding tight with a sickening grip. Reaching out a shaking arm, she traces her fingers along colorless skin and her breath hitches. Fat salty tears pour from her eyes for she couldn't feel below her waist. Her bottom half felt stiff and cold like a rock stuck at the bottom of the sea; completely helpless and stranded. Her voice brittle and far from steady is muffled by the grass surrounding her, that oddly was still. The sound of gears began to play again, this time lasting longer before hushing. A deep rumble enters through the gate at the mouth of a cave. Heavy paws mark the ground below the beast that stepped forth, followed by a set of thick and solid claws. They tore into the earth leaving deep impressions with every step. An enormous beast stalks into the tall grasses. The highest of the greens barely brushed against the beast's muscular shoulder blades merely dwarfing everything around it. A soft pink muzzle pokes through the blades of grass with nostrils flaring wildly. Air rushes down into its lungs, expanding them like balloons and causing its chest to rise and fall with each intake and discharge of oxygen. As the beast drew closer, it exhaled a hot and foul-smelling breath that turned her stomach sour.

Lady Capricorn freezes. Her eyes focus in the direction of the monstrous beast gradually moving towards her. The beating of her heart races faster as the rest of her body remains still with fear. It doesn't take long for the beast to find her. He could hear her heartbeat as if it were the ringing of bells instead of drums. And her cleansed scent seemed familiar to the others, but it was all too different. Even as the beast's gaze falls upon her tiny frame, he pauses for she did not resemble normal prey. In fact, the shade of her skin appeared somewhat similar to the grey flesh beneath his dark pelt. Another odd thing that caught his attention; his normal hunt consists of chasing, yet she doesn't flinch, not even when he dips his head down to get a closer look. The beast inhales her scent again before cocking his head as if confused. He could smell himself already on her, which is something that has never occurred. It's a faint scent, but it's enough to make him curious and slightly withdraw from his primitive nature.

Her eyes never leave the rich amber orbs that stared back at her with an unreadable expression. A light ring of grey belted around his eyes which altered between its rich amber color and glittering gold before a single sound caused a ripple of bloodlust to cloud over his vision. The ring of grey turned jet black just as the irises converted to the color of blood. His eyes darted to the direction regarding the ongoing sound of something sliding down through a vent before it stopped with a thud against a thin metal vent door. The body of a woman suddenly falls out through the vent door before falling to the ground. The vent then shuts and seals.

The beast's lips curl into a snarl while at the same time inhaling deeply and staring directly at the woman curling over onto her side. A nymph had fallen down the vent, and with her body laying on its side, she's gasping for air. The wind had been knocked out of her as she struggles to breathe. Unlike lady Capricorn, the nymph was clothed in a white and gold low dress, nearly passing her thighs while the top hung lazily down her shoulders. A golden rope tied around her waist kept the dress intact. On her right side were two thick golden bracelets, one that wrapped around her upper arm while the other around her wrist. The nymph's hair is long, blond and curled slightly at her waist with a few braided strands. Her soft pink shell skin now covered in specks of dirt, bruising and small cuts.

The look in his eyes, they were primal, purely animalistic as if he reacted only on instinct. Completely shifting his attention away from lady Capricorn, the beast hastily dashes towards the fallen nymph. The abrupt change in character disturbed lady Capricorn, maybe even terrified her, but it was enough to make her start dragging her body backward, as far away as possible from the beast and the nymph. Surprisingly there is a water source nearby, but she'd have to leave the tall grasses and move across flat earth to reach it. She'll be vulnerable. To estimate the distance between her and the water, she'd have to move at least seven yards to reach the edge of the bank.

A cry arising from the nymph stirs up a panic within lady Capricorn and forces her to drag herself immediately across the dirt. At first, she pulls herself by moving backward before turning over to crawl on her stomach. Nearly reaching the sand surrounding the wide stream, a loud crunch followed by a heavy thud can be heard behind her. Just as she rolls herself into the water, an eruption of painful screams echo throughout the area, and even after she dips under the water, the girl can still hear them. Desperately trying to block out the sound, she covers both ears with her hands and shuts her eyes tightly as her body sinks to the bottom. Her body trembles from the horrid sound repeating in her mind, but the nymph's cries had died down moments ago.

Now the beast's attention is on lady Capricorn's disappearance. He returns to the spot where he had last seen her and halts. The corners of his lips curl apart exposing blood-covered teeth underneath as he growls irritably.

It takes some time before lady Capricorn gains the courage to open her eyes again. When she does, however, she spots a shadow growing near the edge of the bank before being replaced by the massive beast himself. He stands along the water's edge with his muzzle raised, despite it dripping with fresh blood, and inhales deeply. He lets out a frustrated huff and shakes himself before dipping down to drink from the stream.
