Chapter 447 - Truly. . . What A Genius

Kan'na raised her hands, magic circles only forming halfway before falling apart due to the corruption. Her robe began to flicker and dim, and she felt the power start to leave her body. The ring of magic circles started to fall apart, and her MP regeneration was slowing to its normal rate.

Heave launched off the ground and swung his maul through the air. A wave of the dark miasma shot forth. Kan'na rapidly retreated, attempting to dodge but the size was too much to handle with her speed. A part of the energy slammed into her and made her HP drop to a tenth!

A crack could be heard and her robe made of magic circles shattered. She coughed as various status effects plagued her body from losing so much HP in such a short time. Her entire being felt lethargic, as if being weighed down.

The ground shook as Heave landed, "As I said, not a single one of you shall reach the Sword Saint. Not while I still stand."

"You sure? Look how far I got, the ones coming after me are just as good."

"It's pointless, you only got this far due to your magic."

"Sounds like an excuse to me-"

She coughed up a mouthful of blood and frowned. The dark miasma was doing more than eating away at her magic, it was also eating away at her! She lifted a hand and inspected it closely. The dark energy was moving through her very body. To think it had infiltrated so far. . .

"[Corroded Domain].", Heave spoke with his deep voice.

The dark energy swarmed upwards and engulfed the two, leaving no form of light through. The only thing that remained was the pitch black. . .

"You made it this far, be glad."

Heave lifted his maul and swung downwards, it arced through the air and slammed down onto Kan'na. Crushing what remained of her HP. Heave felt the life drain from her and nodded. Placing his maul back onto the ground the domain retracted, shining light onto the scene.

Heave walked back towards the spot he arrived from, "I am not tired, we can start the next match."

He paused and looked upwards, the Magic Concatenation still slowly rotating above everything. Quickly turning he focused on Kan'na, "What. . . ?"

A golden rune lifted from her body and she groaned as she stood, "Ugh that's gonna give me a headache."

"It seems like I underestimated you, a revival item is it?"

Indeed! While receiving her reward from the King Kan'na had decided to invest into a revival item! It made sense for it was the one thing she lacked. While she was torn between that and a different object, this particular one made more sense.

Heave shook his head, "No matter, I shall merely repeat the process."

Raising his hand the dark miasma raised, "[Corroded Domain]."

Darkness shrouded the two once again. Heave's voice came from all directions, "You should have given up."

Kan'na raised a hand and a magic circle formed at her palm. It was small in size, and didn't hold anything impressive. Yet it made Heave pause. This small circle provided just a little bit of light, but it looked like the sun in the dark area.

"It's not affected?"

"Do you know how long it took me?", Kan'na complained, "Analyzing an energy in mid combat? That was so annoying! Moreover I couldn't even do it completely, I could only make something to resist its effects."

The light flickered and the small magic circle fell apart, "But it still works."

Heave's grip tightened around his maul. This was dangerous! This person was the very first to analyze his miasma and counter it within the same battle! If he didn't end things here-!

BOOM-!

A blast of magic burst apart the domain, they were once again revealed to the audience. This time with a different sight! Heave wasted no time and immediately charged across the Arena. If only he hadn't walked away! He could have ended this immediately!

Two magic circles formed at her palms, as Kan'na rotated them the giant Magic Concatenation began to turn. Lines burst forth, four spreading out in different directions but all coming from the same point.

Mana sparked from her palms, crackling through the air violently. A small pyramid formed between the two circles and was forcing them to come closer. Kan'na struggled to keep them apart, her efforts causing it to spark violently.

Heave suddenly lifted off the ground, the lines coming from the Magic Concatenation reaching their goals. They quickly formed a massive pyramid, acting as a cage for Heave. The heavily armored man fought violently, "That can't be! That magic circle was formed before you analyzed my domain!"

"Yeah, you're right about that. It's a shame the miasma is so thick on the ground."

Kan'na shifted her foot and moved the miasma, revealing a faint glow of a Formation on the ground. Heave sucked in a breath, "During that small time. . . ?"

An additional pyramid formed around Heave, this time smaller and in an inverted position. Yet it further restricted his movement. Using his strength to fight against it he roared, "You will not beat me!"

Kan'na faltered slightly, the miasma still had infiltrated her body and wasn't removed. Although the Formation provided resistance towards it, that resistance was not eternal. Her HP was dropping and gaining momentum. If she didn't end it fast she would be the first to fall!

A Magic Concatenation formed above her. It lacked any hint of her previous and astonishing speed. Instead it formed slowly, carefully, and cautiously. Kan'na sucked in a breath and started, "O' mana, form to my desires."

The party turned their attention towards Kan'na almost immediately. Tilia was the first to ask in astonishment, "Kan'na is. . . chanting?"

"I. . . didn't think she would ever.", Yielya spoke in amazement.

Ever since Kan'na had joined the party, she had never once spoken a chant. Instead her magic was more than enough to handle any of their issues. For her to start chanting now. . . what brought it upon her?

The chant continued, "Endlessly moving, carefree and unleashed. Eternally existing, devoid of any command. Cooperate with me."

Kan'na watched as her MP drained violently fast. This attack of hers, it was taking every last drop! Her hands struggled to keep the two magic circles apart, they quivered with effort but still she remained calm!

Mana cracked like a whip, it swirled and warped violently. If any ordinary person saw this, they would swear she was creating a thunderstorm!

"Release your primal form. Astonish those who quiver in your presence. The true and first mana strand."

Nine, who had returned to the North Spectator Box, couldn't stop smiling, "This crazy person! She's returning Mana to its origin! If she can't control that it might spell disaster!"

Merin pointed out, "You don't seem so concerned."

"Because despite her condition she's controlling it near perfectly! Truly. . . I've never seen such a genius!"

CR-BOOM!!

Mana then. . . solidified? At the center of the Magic Concatenation a single bead formed. It was small, and looked like a pearl. Its luster was beautiful, but as it grew in size the mana constantly cracked like thunderbolts.

'I truly must thank you Bean. If it weren't for you I would not have realized the worth Chants still have. I created this spell with our studies in mind. . . are you watching?'

"May your existence split apart the very atoms! {Primordial Magic: Reality Shatter}!"

Whoooom~

The small bead shot forward, it looked like it moved at a snails pace. But if you blinked it would disappear. It passed through the pyramid and approached Heave, who was nearly done breaking apart the pyramid that restrained him. Upon seeing the bead his efforts grew more desperate, "No! You can't possibly-!"

As it passed through the second pyramid Kan'na could not hold the two magic circles apart any longer. Her hands slammed shut, crushing the small pyramid that hovered between her hands. As it burst apart the magic restraining Heave pulsed and brightened.

Then the small bead cracked. . .

Space warped into it, piece by piece being torn apart. Like paper being torn to shreds. Oddly enough the pieces torn away did not reveal anything. For when space was torn it did not show what lied beyond it, rather it simply disappeared. Like that section never existed.

Certain techniques could even make a certain part of the world no longer exist, but to execute something like that would be nearly impossible. Even the tearing Kan'na did would soon be repaired by the World Law.

The space twisted and shrunk, condensing to a very small point. Once it faced too much pressure it exploded. It made no sound, and everyone watching could only feel a small ripple. It almost felt like an illusion.

The only thing proving it wasn't an illusion was the fact that Heave was nowhere to be found. The dark miasma slowly faded away, dissipating into nothingness.

The audience was stunned, "She. . . won against two Aces?!"

"Just who is this person?"

Kan'na collapsed onto the ground and looked towards the South Spectator Box, "I did my part Akiol, though I wish you didn't rely on me so much sometimes."

Akiol smiled faintly. If it weren't for the fact that the Aces were reduced to Second Stage there was a large chance that victory was only a dream. However on their level, some methods could be approached. The first part of his plan was to eliminate the first two Aces. The one person he believed was capable of such a feat was Kan'na. Now their greatest enemy, someone who stood at the peak of it all. Someone who Akiol was far from confident in beating. . .

The Sword Saint!
