Chapter 337 - Fort of the Mountain

"Ah Elf, there ya are!"

Tilia turned to see Yordwick approaching her, "Need something?"

"Aye, I need you to come see our work!"

"Oh? Is it done?"

"Indeed it is. Now I shall not wait any longer! Come along!"

The party was instructed to not leave the village until the dwarves were done. Normally this would have been declined, except for Kan'na, but the dwarves were insistent. Claiming that in order for their creations to be as close to perfect, their presence was needed at all times.

Tilia followed Yordwick to a portion of the cave. After going through a series of tunnels she spotted a set of dwarves surrounding a tall item covered in cloth.

Naturally she could tell this was the armor set they were crafting. Yordwick then commented, "Heavy armor always takes the longest to make. I am glad we started on yours first, so that everyone could be done around the same time."

Yordwick stepped next to the set and put a hand on the cloth, "Now feast your eyes on this!"

With a tug the cloth fell free, revealing a large set of armor. It was mostly brown in color, with some accents of tan. It looked to be made of large thick scales, with the largest taking the center front of the armor. The shoulders were made of unknown curved horn. Three were welded together to form the entire shoulder, making it a total of six. The tips were cut off, instead a bronze gem was placed in the location where the horns' tips met.

The gauntlets were formed of a similar, yet far smaller, scale that the chestplate was made of. With incredibly smaller ones used to protect the top of the fingers. Additionally the bronze gem was placed in the area directly above the back of the hand. Around the waist was a tassets made of layered scale. The greaves were created similarly to the gauntlets. On the shin guard was another bronze gem, place slightly below the knee.

After a quick inspection Tilia found that there was additional leg armor located in a small pile underneath the armor stand. Yet she couldn't find a helmet.

Yordwick cleared his throat, "I know what ye are searching for. I intentionally kept it away due to it providing an uncertain benefit. I won't withhold it, but I wanted you to try the armor before I give you the helmet.

Tilia nodded, lifting her hands she touched the armor and was granted the details. Upon reading it she was quite surprised.

[Fort of the Mountain]

Rarity: Unique Set

Forged under the dwarves' skilled hands, the scales of this armor was synchronized with an essence that was as sturdy as a mountain. Due to this the armor can only be worn by the individual who wields this essence.

(This armor is counted as a set, everything except for the helmet can only be equipped together.)

Requirements:

- Can only be worn by Elven Defender

When Equipped:

- All damage taken reduced by 40%

- +40,000 Armor Stat

- Any damage taken that is beneath 5% of the wearer's total HP is nullified. (Some restrictions applied)

Set Bonus:

(1 piece - set armor counts as 1 piece):

- When wielding only a shield Armor Stat is increased by 10,000.)

(2 piece:

- +20,000 Armor Stat

- Grants access to the [Ignition] additional Skill)

Extra Skills:

{Ignition (Passive) (Locked): Using the player's War Sight the defensive qualities are improved tremendously.

Effects:

- Damage reduction increased to 60%

- Armor Stat increased by 20,000

- Provides Semi-Immunity to grabs

- Increases damage nullification to 10% of wearer's HP and removes restrictions}

The Unique rarity was something said to have the potential to surpass Myth Making rarity. Due to it being a one-of-a-kind item. Most of the time Unique items have user restrictions. This was mostly because these items were made to be custom.

The Unique rarity wasn't too surprising, Tilia suspected it would appear. What was surprising was the fact that the majority of the armor counted as a set. Usually set armors and their bonuses would count individual pieces. She's never seen a situation where an entire suit of armor counted as a single piece.

What was incredible about this set was the insane amount of defense it provided. With three levels of protection through damage reduction, armor stat, and damage nullification. The three levels of armor would make her immune to a majority of damage. First, the damage reduction would apply, reducing the damage she took by 40%. Then the flat armor stat would apply, further reducing the damage by 40,000! After these two stats came into play, if the damage she received was lower than 5% of her total health it would be entirely ignored!

This meant that all Second Stage players and beings would struggle to even scratch her! Excluding those at the peak of Second Stage, she would basically be immune to damage! There was a caveat to this. There wasn't any resistance to status effects, and damage nullification didn't apply to harming status effects. So there were methods to bypass her defense, but regardless this was a top tier set! As expected of the dwarves, they made something incredible!

Additionally the [Ignition] additional Skill seemed to provide nothing but benefits. She couldn't see why it was labeled as a passive and additionally locked behind the helmet.

After quickly equipping the new set she turned to Yordwick, "So what's the problem with the helmet?"

"We actually are not entirely sure, however we know it can't be life threatening. We don't have enough data on how much you can handle, and how much this takes."

"What do you mean?"

"It's best you try for yourself. If it's too much to handle you can set it aside. We believe the set of armor is good enough without the helmet."

Yordwick then lifted a helmet from somewhere Tilia couldn't quite see. He then handed it over timidly, as if afraid of what might happen.

Tilia accepted the helmet and quickly inspected it. The design followed the rest of the set, the helmet was made of welded scales. Two horns were placed at the top corners of the helmet, going across the helmet before curving at the back. The helmet provided a face guard, a 'T' shaped hole cut through to provide space for breathing and sight. Oddly enough Tilia couldn't see the inside of the helmet through this gap despite the well lit cave.

Slowly sliding the helmet on she adjusted it before hearing a faint click, she believed it to be the sound of the scales touching. This thought lasted only a moment as she instead was overwhelmed with the feeling of her War Sight being forcefully awakened.

The gems on her arms and legs began to glow. Slowly each scale was glowing faintly with a semi-translucent bronze energy. Tilia frowned at this and changed her War Sight to the tower shield form.

Surprisingly she felt no resistance. It essentially provided her with a pseudo form of her full body protection.

Such power was not without its downsides. As she wore the helmet she felt her body get fatigued quickly, as if she was doing heavy exercise. She suspected that she would barely last half a minute in a real battle with [Ignition].

She took the helmet off and the effects ended immediately. She saw the dwarves watching anxiously at her reaction.

With a smile she praised, "Absolutely wonderful. You have my thanks."

A sigh escaped the dwarves, the tension visibly fading from their postures. Yordwick patted his chest, "This was our best work in a long while! I am glad it suits your taste."

"It's incredible. I'm in awe.", Tilia rotated the helmet to stare at its face again.

"Your words please us greatly. Now enough praise! You best use it well!"

Tilia nodded, "I will."
