Chapter 280 - Showing of Cards

Tilia's fist was blocked by a shield. With a grin she said, "So it's you who's hurting us. Some sort of redirecting ability."

Iyh did not respond, instead he stabbed at Tilia with his shortsword.

The blade failed to pierce Tilia's War Sight. Using the situation as an opportunity Tilia gripped the shortsword and pulled Iyh closer. As the enemy Defender stumbled forward, surprised at the bold move, Tilia kicked their stomach.

Iyh took a few steps back, grunting. Tilia then tossed the shortsword, for Iyh had let go of it when she had kicked him.

Iyh responded quickly, charging forward with [Charge Bash]. Yet the only thing he hit was a floating semi-translucent shield. Tilia spoke confidently, "So it has specific ways to activate it. Perhaps triggering something before blocking an attack. Meaning as long as you don't block an attack I don't have to worry about harming my party."

Iyh frowned, but still didn't respond. After fighting for so long he was aware when he was fighting something out of his league. The problem was, he never felt such a feeling from a player.

A flurry of cherry blossom petals swarmed Akiol.

Releasing a wave of mana Akiol knocked away the petals. Uyana did not hesitate and immediately got within close range. She swung swiftly and calmly. Further proving Akiol's suspicion that she wasn't an average player. A dull sound was created as Akiol parried the blow. He swiftly returned two strikes, creating two gashes across Uyana's body.

She failed to flinch, slashing diagonally towards Akiol.

Sliding his foot back Akiol leaned backwards slightly. The sword sailed past harmlessly. Uyana quickly spun, increasing the momentum of the missed strike. Angling the blade next to her waist she continued with another slash. This time horizontally, aiming to carve Akiol into two.

Akiol quickly moved Stars downward. Uyana's blade gliding across the edge of Stars before stopping at the hilt. Then, in a move many failed to expect, Akiol punched Uyana in the face! This had earned him many haters.

Akiol quickly moved Stars, guiding Uyana's bokken out of the way, and pointed the tip at her. In a calm voice he spoke, "[Repulse]."

A powerful blast sent Uyana flying back. As she tumbled across the ground she managed to stab her sword into the dirt and slowed to a stop.

She stood up, wounds obvious at a glance. Stars always had incredible destructive power. So much so Akiol rarely used it. Her wounds healed and she returned to her fighting stance. She watched Akiol with an intense gaze.

Suddenly Yemm shouted, "Time for phase two! Eliminate them!"

John spoke excitedly, "Bakery Basics is taking it up a notch! Suddenly everyone is using their trump cards at once!"

Henry was quick to continue, "It seems like they plan to overwhelm and quickly eliminate Six Lights! This sudden change in the flow of battle might just pay off!"

As the commentators did their jobs, a certain private chatroom was also abuzz.

-Anon626: So it begins.

-Anon222: Risky move, but might work.

-Anon597: So they are taking risks to win? That didn't seem like something they would do.

-Anon771: No, it seems like they have a plan.

-Anon626: It's going to happen in just a moment. The Priest's special ability.

-Anon597: Special Ability?

-Anon801: What's going to happen?

-Anon908: ?

-Anon527: Special Ability?

-Anon771: You don't mean?

-Anon626: You see, Gan isn't the only one who has a War Sight!

-Anon597: ?!

Yemm grinned and snapped his fingers. Suddenly the figures of Gan and Yielya shook.

The two disappeared, without reappearing. Wrock paused his assault on the Sorcerer and quickly searched around. With a frown he turned to Yemm, "What did you do?"

Yemm remained grinning, "A move that will win us this game."

Yielya noticed she was in an empty space. There seemed to be no end in any direction except for the floor. She soon spotted Gan sprinting towards her.

She sidestepped an incoming punch and wondered aloud, "A separate space, the only person who did anything was the Priest."

Tring~

She swapped places with Gan to dodge another strike and continued, "It seems to be a War Sight, it's a familiar energy. Trapping two people with an enclosed space?"

Gan executed a spinning kick.

Tring~

Yielya began to ponder. Her key issue was that she had no sure way to deal with Gan. The enclosed space had no loose objects to abuse fall damage with. Moreover she wasn't confident in winning with hand-to-hand combat.

The only tools she had to her advantage was her massive amount of healing along with her War Sight. However after seeing Wrock almost get one-shot she didn't plan to abuse her healing.

She couldn't heal if she was dead after all.

Additionally her War Sight may seem incredibly powerful, but it also had equally powerful restrictions. Two obvious restrictions was her limitation on what she was capable of swapping. The bigger or more grand the object, the more mental strain it gave. Additionally she could only swap objects around her or in her vision.

The enclosed space had no loose objects and no way to see her party members. Leaving her alone with Gan. Also, she was actually unaware if there was an upper limit on the number of swaps she could do. Even after testing it multiple times her only conclusion was that their was no limit. Or she hadn't reached it yet.

Tring~

Yielya dodged another attack, but quickly realized that Gan was adapting to her War Sight. Meaning her time was short.

She had two options: die and leave the rest to her party, or figure a way out of the enclosed space.

Extreok dodged a swipe from the large bear. She rapidly cut through multiple smaller summons with wind as she kept focusing on the main threat.

Suddenly a ferocious roar sounded and a large white tiger jumped onto the back of the bear. Using its claws to tear apart the bear's fur. Jaws clamped around the back of its neck.

The Summoner pushed a pair of glasses up his nose, "To think my contracts would be eliminated so easily. What a waste of my effort."

The Summoner, named Johan, wasn't a typical Summoner. Instead he was a hidden Variant named Contractor. Instead of summoning creatures with chants and MP, he summoned creatures he had met and created a contract with.

A large scroll was held in his hands. He pulled it open and slapped a strange set of runes. A large scorpion suddenly manifested. A liquid oozing out the tip of its stinger. Johan pointed towards Extreok and the scorpion charged forth with incredible speed.

Extreok dodged its stinger and struck it with lightning. Yet that only angered the scorpion. Increasing its speed. With a jump Extreok leapt over the scorpion and grabbed its tail with her jaws. Upon landing she swung her head side to side, attempting to tear off the tail.

Johan made a face, "Another waste of a contract."

The scroll rapidly unfurled. The long paper circling him several times. His hands moves quickly, tapping several of the strange runes. A pack of wolves charged towards Extreok. But with only a glare from her the pack suddenly halted in their steps.

They new instinctively that Extreok was not to be messed with. It felt ingrained in their very being.

Yet due the restrictions of the contract they had no choice but to fight. Fighting against their natural instinct they charged towards Extreok. Sadly they were swiftly eliminated by blades of wind. Extreok felt no remorse to her enemies. If they fought her they should be prepared for the consequences.

Uyana underwent a change. Suddenly a floating cherry blossom hovered behind her. Branches with cherry blossoms began to cover her face and body.

Akiol noticed the chaotic mana, "A Berserk Skill."

Uyana moved at incredible speeds, fluttering cherry blossom petals appearing behind her. After a certain distance her figure vanished and reappeared behind Akiol. Slowly she sheathed her bokken.

Clang~

Akiol had blocked the strike despite the incredible speed. However the strength difference was too great and he took some damage and knock back.

He turned around to see thick streams of cherry blossom petals coming towards him. He pointed Stars forward and a small blackhole formed at the tip, sucking in all the petals. Uyana attacked rapidly, several strikes being delivered with incredibly short intervals. Akiol dashed back to dodge the flurry.

Akiol lifted Stars, "Guess I should respond in kind."

An orange Aura extended from his body as he dashed forward. The two exchanged blows, equal in stats. They were not equal in skill however. Akiol had gained an edge in battle and was slowly pushing Uyana back.

Akiol's Aura flashed red as he delivered a powerful blow, pushing Uyana away. He returned to his normal stance, "If you don't have anything else you will lose this battle."

Uyana grit her teeth, for she knew that Akiol's words were true.
