Jarvis came to a conclusion.
It was just a week, he could spend that time towards different things. Such as his Occupation or leveling his tames. Seven days can pass fast if he busied himself enough.
His book floated in front of him, pages flipping quickly. He chose the five creatures to summon. The first remained as Bo and To. He chose the World Carrying Tortoise to protect himself. He chose Donk to support all his tames with a song. The Quintuplet Man-Eaters to attack Fossil. For the fifth he chose Mantid for pure power.
Normally these tames would be in groups of two, limiting their power. However when they are grouped together. . . their power isn't something to underestimate.
The book began to glow and one by one the tames came out of the book. Jarvis sat on the back of the World Carrying Tortoise and was surrounded by a magic wave. This was the same ability the tortoise used during the undead event.
Donk began playing a fast paced rhythm. It was a song named [Unified, As It Should Be].
[Unified, As It Should Be:
A song that riles up the spirit of friends and allies. We are one, we are together, as it should and will be.
Effects:
+5% stats for every active tame.]
And thus, the tames charged. The Man-Eaters dodged the colorful lion and headed straight for Fossil. Mantid fought the spider, easily tearing the web with it's strong front legs.
Fossil furiously painted several creatures, but the Quintuplet Man-Eaters shredded through the paint. They were extremely angry that the monster wasn't made of any consumable meat. However there was something that was made of meat... Fossil.
Fossil saw the Man-Eaters charging straight for them. Startled they began to move back, however they weren't faster than the Man-Eaters.
Mantid crushed the spider with its leg. The paint splattered everywhere. The lion attempted to avenge it's comrade and began fighting against Mantid.
It's important to note that Mantid is a heavy strong and tough creature, so it's not very fast. The only time it's speed increased is when it's eating. The lion was not edible, so Mantid didn't want to waste energy.
The lion dodged the various stomping of Mantid's front legs. Attempting to bite any weak points. The moment one of the attacks hit, the lion would be finished.
A scream rang out in the battlefield. The Man-Eaters have caught up to Fossil. Who was to terrified to attempt to save themselves. They were being eaten alive! Who can react calmly to such a situation?
Bo and To finished the enemy birds, hunting them one at a time. They were exhausted, flying with all their might with no breaks. However they almost finished, couldn't give up now!
Fossil had died, most of their body has been consumed. Meaning that the corpse turned into colorful yellow light, which turned to dust.
Corpses in A World's Legacy usually remained five to ten minutes after they died, depending on circumstances. However if significant damage was done to the corpse it would forcefully disintegrate. This was to prevent sickos from attacking corpses.
Jarvis sighed, he wanted his max tames to increase. Having only two was troublesome and limiting. Especially with the long cooldowns.
The remaining painted creatures simply fell into a puddle of paint. Leaving no more enemies. Jarvis forcefully canceled the skill and all the tames returned to his book. He would no longer be if any help for the next day. So he called it quits and teleported to Chalkworth.
He didn't forget to send a message to the group chat as well.
. . .
Since the issues have been dealt with the party members continued to grind the event. Except for Jarvis and Kan'na.
Kan'na was teleported back to her mentor. The hidden class teacher. She was berated for the deliberate causing for rampant mana. Her mentor had to expend some effort to stop the mana for getting out of control and causing a disaster. For her punishment she was forced to take mana controlling lessons for a week.
The event continued for three in-game days. Or one real day. It may have gone on longer, but a mysterious team completed a hidden quest which caused the city to win against the attackers. All the players who participated received rewards based on their contribution. It was rumored that the number one player obtained a set of Incredible armor for their class. However this was never proven.
The party received quite a bit of gear, allowing Tilia to boost her Occupation level significantly. Afterwards they sold the gear on the auction, using the gold to furnish their now finished house. Kan'na got an office for her Inscriber Occupation. While Jarvis got an indoor greenhouse for his plants. Tilia required no external usage, so she only decorated her personal room. Along with Wrock who still didn't choose an Occupation, and Akiol who was still debating on choosing Chef.
The party continued to patiently level and explore. They put off obtaining mounts, for they felt it was too soon to go exploring. Every random adventure led to a troublesome encounter. Making them use all they had to win. Winning battles like so made them worry about what else was out there. So they all agreed to wait.
Akiol got his two Skill Stones appraised and was filled with glee upon inspecting them.

Flinnder sat in his office chair. He gestured for Travis to sit, who complied. After receiving drinks from a servant he began to talk, "So candidate. . . I am extremely pleased with how you dealt with that situation. My mood has been improved significantly. So I ask you, what is it that you want as a reward? Something to assist you in your upcoming battle against other candidates?"
Travis spoke humbly, "The power I gained from defeating the champion is enough."
Flinnder's voice dropped a tone, "I should warn you that I am going out of my way to fulfill a request. It would be best not to waste it."
Shivers traveled down Travis' spine. He pondered for a moment before looking at his hands, "Then. . . a ring. I wish for a ring that can increase my power. I have yet to obtain one."
Flinnder grinned, "That's more like it. A ring is it? Very well."
Flinnder snapped and a servant came up almost immediately, "Bring me my treasured rings. Those three."
The servant bowed, "Right away my lord."
Flinnder took a sip from his drink, "After this particular incident, your rivals have dropped by one. Increasing your chances. Tell me, how do you feel? I want an honest answer of course."
Travis replied carefully, "It's definitely great that I have one less rival. However I don't feel particularly good about it. If anything it's just one less thing to beat."
"Ho? Confident are we? Well I suppose you did beat a champion already. However I should remind you that Vernessa has always been the weakest contender. That holy light she attempted to use would normally be extremely effective, however you are lucky. If you become my champion, it would be best if you don't underestimate the other's. There are several more royals who have more power than me. So their champions will definitely be stronger."
Travis clenched his fist, "I. . . find myself looking forward to it."
"Challenges are always a way to improve."
The servant entered the room at this point. In their hands was a lavish chest. They opened the chest and inside was three rings on a luxurious cloth. Flinnder beckoned at them, "Examine them, you may choose one."
Travis nervously picked one up. Due to these being owned by an NPC, and they were willing to show them, the items did not need to be appraised.
After inspecting the first ring he nearly dropped it in shock. He looked towards the others and inspected them. All of these were Legend-Creating rarity! Since they were accessories this was akin to finding a Myth-Making weapon or armor piece!
Travis heart beat fast, no matter what he chose the ring would most likely never be replaced. He quickly weighed the differences and finally chose one.
[Averoth's Desire]
Rarity: Legend-Creating
A ring forged by the leftover soul of the great warrior Averoth. His never ending want for battle fuels the wearer, making them stronger as the battle progresses. It is said that the wearer may inherit Averoth's will.
Requirements:
500 in all stats
When Equipped:
+250 to all stats
All damage is doubled
Extra Skills:
{Averoth's Lust for Battle (Passive):
After 1 minute of battle, user will receive an additional +1% in all stats every second. (Max is +300%)
Additionally Fatigue is slowed by 50%}
{Averoth's Spirit: Summon the spirit of Averoth. The spirit will do three attacks before automatically disappearing. Each attack does 10% of the enemy's total health.}
This ring's power was in between the other two. Yet Travis chose this one for a more important reason, Averoth's Will! This was a treasure hunted by many players during the level 500 stage. If this ring could lead him to it. . . then his strength would skyrocket even further.
Travis picked up the ring, "I choose this one."
Flinnder watched and smiled, "A good choice. Now go and rest, the day after tomorrow is your test. Surely you will not disappoint."
Travis bowed, "Yes!"
