Chapter 84 - Truly a Treasure Room

Such a skill was never shown before! This could easily classify as a trump card. Travis believed with this alone he now was the strongest player.

That didn't even count the lower eight sword in his hands. It shone in a brilliant dark color, every now and then a wisp of black smoke escaped the sword only to dissipate less than an inch away. Travis quickly read the description, only a few seconds remained before the treasure guardian arrived.

[Harbinger Of The Abyss (damaged)]

Current state (damaged) repair requires: Aboviol Soul (0/1)

High Class Demon Heart (0/3)

Abyssal Fragments (0/10)

It was odd, the stats of the sword definitely did not lead up to its name as part of the very best. It wasn't until Travis noticed the (damaged) description to realize. He quickly read the repair requirements and sucked in a cold breath of air. Those items were extremely rare and hard to obtain.

Abyssal Fragments only dropped by mini bosses located in a certain area, even then they were a rare chance to drop! High Class Demon Hearts were going to be even harder. A High Class Demon was a minimum of level 500. Each Demon had at least five underlings only 100 levels less than its own. Players would need to beat these underlings before the Demon showed itself. The Demon itself was no small matter, it could easily wipe a squad of level 500 players with top tier gear. Travis would need to obtain three of these hearts!

Then an Aboviol Soul, an Aboviol was a hidden boss located in a special dimension. The Aboviols held absolute power in this dimension, to fight one was akin to suicide. These bosses were so incredibly strong that in Travis' previous timeline, it had yet to be defeated!

Travis quickly equipped the sword anyway, it was stronger than his current one. He would spend some time in the future to fully repair the sword. Next came up his skills with his new class.

Hidden classes gained without a trainer had a unique way to obtain more skills. A player would be teleported to a small dimension based around their class. There they would have to complete several challenges to obtain another skill. The harder the challenge the greater the skill. Currently Travis only had two skills for his class. The first one was the Berserk skill [Abyss Release], the second one was called [Abyssal Shift].

[Abyssal Shift: Using the abyss you shift your weapon slightly in a direction during an attack.

Cost: 150MP]

Travis quickly tested the skill to gain a bit of familiarity with it. He then nodded in approval, this skill wasn't too flashy yet it was extremely useful in battle. If used correctly a player could 'shift' pass another player's defense. Travis could not test this any further, for a double-blade weapon wielding individual entered the treasure room.

"Oh. . . ? So your still here? Looks like your greed got the better of you." The individual said.

"No, I was expecting your arrival. With you gone I can take what I want." Travis corrected.

The treasure guardian was a female named Silva. Highly skilled with the double-blade sword she was in charge of keeping the cult's treasures safe. This boss appeared whenever a treasure was touched. Silva twirled her blade and readied herself.

Travis readied himself for battle as well. This would be a fantastic opportunity to test his newfound strength.

Wrock landed a heavy punch on the forehead of the giant mannequin, the mannequin fell over and broke into several pieces. Everyone sighed with relief, they had finally beat it.

The second life of the mannequin was easier to deal with, using Wrock's [The Beast's Roar] skill they had finished if the second life similarly to the first. However both of Wrock's skills had a large cooldown. For the third life they had to fight it without the ability to knock it over.

The boss awarded a large amount of experience and gold. The party decided to take a break and recover. They still had the final boss to deal with. Akiol sat down on the floor and checked his status.

They have been spending the past few days using all of their dungeon attempts to boost their level. Akiol's stats have risen a decent amount. Yet it wasn't a massive increase. Akiol knew the best way to get stronger was to obtain stat crystals. Although finding such quests wasn't common. The ones that usually gave such a reward couldn't be found on the Adventurers Guild job board. A player would have to obtain the quest personally. Finding an individual who gave such a quest wasn't easy either. So Akiol leveled, he hoped his next evolution would provide an increase to his stats. He assumed this was far away however.

Equipment would also be a great opportunity to increase stats, however Akiol found it pointless to equip anything that isn't an accessory. Armor had to be manually equipped, if Akiol attempted to manipulate his body the armor wouldn't be manipulated. Akiol would have to absorb the armor first, this would take time that could cost a battle so Akiol threw out the idea of wearing any armor.

After a few minutes of rest and healing the party began to make their way to the final boss. It was time to complete this dungeon.

Travis moved quickly, his stats had been further improved with the sword he had equipped. He began his attack towards Silva. The treasure guardian deflected the attack and swung towards Travis. With a small side step Travis barely dodged the swing and and began another attack.

Silva's blade made a sound and suddenly the blade was racing towards Travis. He had expected this and blocked the attack. Silva had a special skill along with her blade, it allowed her to attack again instantly. This skill would provide the momentum needed for an attack without an prior swinging. Meaning she could move it an inch and it would carry the same momentum if she swung it around her.

There was a page dedicated to her after an event was activated. Many of the games fans had created several info pages for old bosses and events. Most of these were incomplete due to the lack of knowledge, but it was still impressive.

Travis had no recoil from blocking the blow, he knew that the only reason their stats were close was because of the weapon. Travis tilted his body and gave a swift kick towards Silva's exposed side. Silva quickly drew back and dodged the kick she then returned to combat and attacked Travis several times.

These blows were either dodged or blocked, but using her special skill Travis found that he would be unable to counter attack if this continued. Going against his natural sense to defend himself he attacked through the dancing blade. Silva was impressed at the feat and dodged the attack. Not many dared to attack her when she began her flurry of attacks.

Travis had adjusted to his increased stats. Now it was time to test his evolved Berserk skill. Activating [Abyss Release] dark mist began to surround him. Tendrils of the dark mist extended from his body occasionally. Silva's eyes narrowed, her opponent gave of a much more dangerous aura.

Travis moved at extreme speeds, he sliced Silva's leg and a bit of the dark mist began to enter through the wound. Silva winced and swung her blade towards Travis, only to find he was no longer there.

Another cut formed along her rib. Travis had been using [Abyss Edge] to increase the Abyss magic damage to Silva. He continued to attack her, reducing her health at a decent pace. As soon as the 25th attack landed Travis used [Abyssal Domain] to further reduce Silva's stats. As a boss she had some resistance to the debuffs so the two only reduced her stats by 20%. Yet that was still a good amount.

It didn't take long before Travis fully finished her off. He gained several levels and gold due to Silva's large level. After adding his stats he looked around the treasure room for any items that may be of use to him.

In another display case lay a white mask with a singular black dot in the middle. Travis had never seen this item before so he smashed the glass and picked up the mask.

[Nameless Mask (Face Accessory)]

Anyone who wears this mask shall find that their identities would never be discovered. It's origins are unknown. Note: All assassins love this!

When Equipped:

Immunity to all appraisal and probing skills.

Travis was pleased with the item, with this no one would find his ridiculous stats. He didn't hesitate to equip the mask.

Searching the rest of the cult Travis pocketed some treasures he thought might become useful in the future. Either than that only one more thing really caught his interest. A dark cloak, it looked ordinary but its abilities were far from it.

[Escapee's Cloak]

Escape with the wind assisting you. Flee from anything or anyone that could harm you.

When Equipped:

+50 to Agility

Special Skill:

{Flee Fast!: When health reaches 20% or lower gain +50% extra Agility, temporary immunity to all damage for 3 seconds.}

This was a life saving accessory! Such items were always popular with players. Travis couldn't believe that such an item was with a lower eight sword. This was truly a room full of treasures!

Travis equipped the cloak and began to exit the cult's secret base. He had a few remaining things he had to accomplish. Only a few more stat crystal quests before he was temporarily stopped.

Once he gained some additional skills he would test his strength against the stronger players from his timeline. His hands itched in anticipation.
