Chereads / The Journey of Mew / Chapter 166 - Meeting up with Momonga

Chapter 166 - Meeting up with Momonga

Following the soldiers, Mew, Aldos and the knights moved forward at a quick yet seemingly slow pace.

[This is taking foreeeveeer~ Ne, Aldos... Let's ditch them and increase the pace.]

Mew muttered, nibking at his little paws. They were not slow, they really weren't, but it was still too unbearable slow for Mew to stomach. Ah, if only towns and cities were closer together. Then he would just be somewhere within a day instead of within a week.

"Understood, Mew-sama."

Aldos nodded, increasing his pace and speeding in front of the soldiers.

The soldiers looked on in awe as the elf tripled his pace in an easy looking manner and outsped them within seconds.

"Are we still moving towards the village? There are hostiles there."

[Of course we are? That is where the fun things happen. I think...]

Mew began in excitement but ended in doubt.

'Let's hope its fun, otherwise he would make it fun.'

Snickering, Mew looked forward to the vastly increasing size of buildings. Black smoke still billowed to the sky, stretching a few miles upward into the air.

Arriving at the village, they were just in time to see a couple of knights slaying villagers. In the distance Mew could see a monster like skeleton knight coming their way, slashing the enemies with its crudely shaped sword.

[Ahhh~ Someone is interfering with a plot! And I have an idea who!]

Aldos glanced at the excited Mew, put back his staff and sat on the side with Mew in his arms. If they were close, Aldos put a barrier over some of the villagers, saving some with injuries or freezing their time if they were close to death.

"Humans in this world are so weak. How do they even have the time to fight amongst themselves if there are monsters in this world? There only needs to be one strong monster and they are doomed."

[I wonder? I guess they like quantity instead of quality? Wanting only those that stand with them and eliminate those against them?]

Mew responded, not too sure of what he was saying.

"Where do you even learn such things Mew-sama? It doesn't fit you."

[I learned it from the television. It was called Game of Thrones if I'm right. It really was fun to watch~]

Mew hummed, glancing once more at the skeleton knight that had just killed most of the enemies.

Appearing above the monster was a masked figure and a woman in armor.

[Haah! Called it! It's Momonga and the crazy woman!]

Mew shouted, waving his little paws towards Momonga.

As Momonga was busy with other things he didn't notice the odd pair sitting on the roof. The crazy woman however did notice them.

Huffing in annoyance, Albedo turned her head away as she stuck close to Momonga.

[See, a jealous, crazy, obnoxious, poisonous, lovestruck, foolish, b*tch who can't stop being horny in public.]

"Mew-sama! Language! Stop learning such bad words!"

Aldos reprimanded, covering Mew's mouth before any other profanities escaped from his mouth.

[That is useless. I speak telepathically~]

Mew hummed, but still stoped his bad word marathon.

When all the things below had been handled, only then did Momonga stop in front of them. Aldos could hear the man sighing in annoyance once he saw Mew. He had no doubt experienced Mew's professional trouble making skills.

"Mew, why are you here?"

Momonga started, sounding a bit tired.

[Playing around and a quest near here~]

Mew casually responded.

[Putting that aside, shouldn't you save the few humans over there? Aldos-kun put them in a time freeze, but that won't last forever.]

Pointing his finger towards the time barrier, Mew directed Momonga to the still saveable humans.

"I will handle this. In return, call me Ains. Ains Ooal Gown. There are reasons, but I won't elaborate for now. Just know that I changed my name."

[Sure, you do what you do best, Mr. Elderlich.]

Mew waved at Ains as the latter walked away towards the injured, handing out potions left and right.

[He's fun right? Too bad I don't take undead into my Garden. He would have fitted right in besides the demons and Twili.]

"If you say so, Mew-sama...]

Aldos kept an eye on the Elderlich, not straying one bit as he senses warned him of the danger the latter posed.
