Chapter 123 - The siblings play a game

Mew had Gengar decide where they should go, but Gengar just said, "Why not follow those humans. They look interesting."

In full agreement with Gengar, Mew began to follow the trail they had left behind, coming across a group of bare naked bandits. They were shivering from the cold and Mew felt a bit sorry for them. Grabbing a few bathrobes from the Garden, Mew dropped them on top of the Bandits' heads before moving on.

Having followed the trail thus far, Mew spotted a city, a castle standing on top of the hill with a castle town below it. Having tracked the duo up to now, Mew and Gengar arrived at a small inn. Mew finally saw the two humans again, challenging a pretty yet not pretty lady to a game.

Mew watched silently from the side lines, completely invisible as he observed the game the boy Sora called Poker. The lady was completely unaware that Sora had aimed for her to accept. Mew didn't know why, but it seemed interesting. They even went as far as betting their lives for a small bag of gold. As if that was worth that much, Mew had a whole room filled with that stuff and it was increasing by the day. He didn't even know what he was supposed to do with that.

""I swear by the pledges, Aschente.""

Both had started the game and Mew was intently following their every move.

The lady began to shuffle the cards, but something was odd about it. Mew didn't know what, but it just felt strange. Looking at Sora, Mew couldn't help but feel the confidence he was feeling.

'This is so fun! This excitement, I want to play as well. I just don't know how these games work. Should I get some games from my place to play with or try some of these odd games?'

While Mew was deep in thought, Sora and the lady had each drawn their cards, waiting for the other to reveal their hand.

"You ready?" Sora asked, though he didn't seem that excited at the game. As if it was all childs play.

"Ready and waiting. How about you? Perhaps you like to draw cards again."

"No thanks, we're cool."

The woman began to smile crazily.

"Oh. In that case, too bad kiddo! Fullhouse asshole!"

Sora seemed unperturbed as he turned over his own cards.

"Oh, right. That is too bad."

On the table were the cards of the ten, Jack, Queen, King and Ace of spades.

"A-a-a R-Ro-Royal s-straight FLUSH?!"

The woman began to act all shocked, falling back dramatically. She began to spout things about the odds of getting that hand, but Mew was more interested in the real outcome.

[Did he win? Hey Gengar, do you think he won? I think he won, so he won right?]

Gengar just ignored Mew as he kept his eye on the crazy woman. She would be his next target. She had too many funny faces that he couldn't wait to mess with her.

Sora received the bag of gold from the despairing lady and walked inside the inn with the little lady.

[Let's continue following. I want to try playing a game with them too. They seem so fun to play with!]

Like that, Mew had a new target as a playmate, completely forgetting about his little shadow that had left to haunt an unfortunate lady for a day.
